Galaxy Tab needs the Quick Load function from the new Sony S1 tablet. Someone should develop a patch like that for the SGT 10.1.
why do you have 2 threads with the same content?

Which Galaxy Tab should I buy?

Hi,
I'm thinking of buying me a Galaxy Tab, but I have no idea which one because I'm new to the Tab-thing. For now I have a Galaxy S Plus.
In some tests I read, that the Tab 2 is worse than the Tab 1, that's why I'm asking for your opinions.
For me important is:
- Wifi + 3G
- Browsing / Communitys
- Android 4 (with a custom rom)
- watching movies
- microSD / SD Slot
Any ideas on which one I should buy? The first or the Tab 2? What's the difference between 10.1 and 10.1N? Just the wifi-n connection?
Big thanks in advance
Bruzzler
Look for a comparison video on youtube so you get a clear picture of what you may be buying
For watching movies, I'd actually recommend the 10.1. I also find it to be very handy when working on Polaris Office and the like - it may be a bit "bulky" but with a nice Samsung Book Cover case (or something similar) it's quite comfortable.
I used to support the tab so much cause loved my device, but to be honest I do not think I can trust Sammy again not unless they change their software support policy.
Also the traffic in this stream of xda is slowing right down so devs are moving away to other devices. ...
Advice spend your money on different device

The Android Challennge! Have you got what it takes?

Hey guys! I've been away from XDA for a while so I just wanted to something cool. I want to see what you guys are made of and some of your creative skills, so i'm running a competition to see who comes up with the most inovative ideas for their android smartphone.
Mostly explained in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7URAlaexrL0
Basically, there are two catagories:
-Customisation (Themes, UI changes, Elegant design etc)
-Uses (for example I made my galaxy note a mini computer with some accessories)
There will be a cash prize for each category. (up to $100) The challenge is open to any smartphone or tablet brand and model.
Entries close on June 23rd* This may be extended
Once entries close, I will select 3 finalists from each category and then there will be a public vote to determine the final winners.
Submit a video response to the video or post pictures on my blog:

Awesome videos mate . already subscribed to your channel.
I wanted to comment on something about the s note app, u mentioned the pen double tap to bring up the "lite" version to scribble a note on it, and when we click maximize it takes it to the full size s note app.
So, I have noticed that even after maximizing, the s note app is missing a few functionalities (like the shape and formula match), and it only serves as a simple note taking app (like the s memo on the original note), unfortunately I find this a bit of an inconvenience.
But I just discovered this trick , once u hover the pen or u touch it with the screen, the fingers touch input is completely disabled, even the capacitive buttons (so u can't accidently hit them), and if u touch the screen with a finger and draw a line (without lifting up yr fingers) then u hover the s pen, that line disappears!
I find those two tiny details extremely useful and important.
Thx again for the videos.

You're totally right about expanding S Note (lite). It doesn't open the full S Note. Just expands with the recording option. As much as I like S Note and the more I use it, I realize how the UI needs some serious improvements.
I don't have the second problem you reported though. Maybe I got an update?
Features I want...
drag and drop combine pages...
at the end of the day, I have many different notes. it shouldn't open a new file every time after the pen is pulled out (with the auto popup note option)
bigger hover previews.
swipe deletes.
multi page hover previews.
google doc syncs snb files that don't open anywhere else than on the galaxy note...grr...
popup note shouldn't pop up a note when you pull out a pen when you're already in S Note....
anyway, that's just for starters. Still love it. Can't wait for improvements.

Yes, the Android phones usually has vpn...although I know some carriers like to disable them.

Will we see the Flipbook and Awesome Notes apps optimized for the note 8

Engadget's review of the note 8 included a hands on video where they showed an optizied version of Flipboard and Awesome Notes developed for s-pen support. Samsung has also introduced a new reader setting to help reduce eye strain from reading e-books. I wonder if we'll see these pushed out to our note 10.1 units. http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/23/samsung-galaxy-note-8-preview/
