NFC, Cheapest place to buy tags and what use are they? - Galaxy S III General

I like idea of NFC, like mobile payments for instance, (which btw im yet to see in the UK) but is it worth buying NFC tags for £10 region?
It seems NFC isnt taking off in UK which is a shame,
I tried carphone warehouse to go buy some as they are on the website but was told they dont sell them.
Anyone in UK know where to get them other then eBay and which are best suited to Galaxy S3?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium

there is no need to open a thread for this, really.
There are already many NFC threads, just search.
Even outside S3 forum still within xda.

Problem is i dont understand the differences between them, as i use gs3 thought this be a good place to start.
I did search found some threads but the different sizes models etc isn confusing. Just wanted to be clear on what id need

Looking To Sell My Brand New Sealed DESIRE HD

Hello people...
I have just taken out a contract on T-Mobile and I'm looking to sell the Handset that is a HTC Desire HD. It will be factory unlocked and unbranded. I'm looking to sell it on to any interested buyers...
If I have posted in the wrong section of the forum then please accept my apologies as I have never sold a Handset on XDA before.

I think the correct site in this case is ebay... Anyhow why are you selling this phone?
@Alfa...
I have used eBay many times but this time I don't want to use eBay as they charge too much to list the item. I am looking at a private sale on XDA.
Try the HotUKDeals forums, great place to sell handsets.
http://www.hotukdeals.com/all/for-sale-trade/discussed
yes but you will sell it for considerably more on eBay, so the fees are worth it.

N4 the same everywhere?

Just want confirmation that the N4 available in the States is the exact same one available here in the UK?
A friend if mine is going to the States soon, he wants to pick up an N4 and I might ask him to get me one as well, since it's cheaper.
Presumably it's got the exact same hardware inside and will run on the UK GSM frequencies? Where can I find out this info for definite?
Also, what's the warranty situation going to be if I import from US - I don't want to have to send it abroad if it goes wrong...

Yep, 1 handset for the WHOLE WORLD! Lol!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Yup, basically (for the time being) doesn't matter where you buy the handset, it will have the same hardware. I don't know about the warranty though, they may check the IMEI to determine market, but it would be a bit stingy if they do

Used Phones for Sale?

I don't know if this is the right place for this or if it's even allowed because the marketplace shut down. I'm in the market for a used phone (T-Mobile USA compatible) to replace my Galaxy Nexus. It seems my only options are eBay, Craigslist and Swappa. Just wondering if anyone can recommend any other websites.
Hmmm maybe this isn't the place for requesting or selling phones. But perhaps a thread dedicated to deal sites would be a good idea. I too have been looking for a cheap ($20) phone to use with Google voice as a home phone. It would be nice if I knew what sites to check for used or discount phones.
Plus more people checking other sites means more people informing us of deals.
If a moderator comes to close this thread, please consider making a sticky that can list deal websites

[Q] How to sell / trade accessories now?

Now that the Marketplace is closed, where can XDA members trade / sell their accessories? I know the Q&A or the Accessories sub-forum are not a marketplace, but where can members now make these arrangements? I have two cases I'd rather sell / trade with XDA members, so what do I do?
I know there is eBay, but since these are fairy small value items, I'd rather I make some XDA member happy and/or trade for something else, instead of going in the millions of generic auctions out there....
Is there a "parallel" process now?
Ok I guess there is nothing? It leaves us PMing and some way to let people know you have something of lesser value to trade or sell...
So anyone wants to know, just PM me... I can't see anything else

Got scammed with a fake Galaxy Note 8.0 . Buyers beware...

So I tried to save some money by buying a Galaxy Note 8.0 online through Alibaba.com and boy did I screw myself. I should of just bought one here in USA or one from a reputable seller. They said it was original before I bought and of course I trusted them but WOW. It doesn't even have an S-Pen that's how fake this thing is.lol... So after messing with it and started downloading games it's not bad but with no S-Pen I think the Galaxy Tab would of been better geez...lol... What's make this even worse is that I did a factory reset and now my wifi ain't working. So now I'm screwed big time. I'm not much of a cell tech but I sure wish I could at least root it and have a different room so i can be at least a little happy with it. Can anyone help and send me a link where I can start. Any help would be much appreciated. Here's some pictures for those that have one so you can see the difference. You can't really tell but it's a knock off alright. Now I enclosed a picture of the build and it looks like it's rooted so if it is can I just load clockwork and install roms? Thanks again friends.

Why can't you return it? Or dispute the card charges with your bank?

What you've described is fraud. You are not responsible for shipping charges when there has been material misrepresentation. I don't know what bank you use, but my bank would have those charges reversed in a heartbeat.

They burned me for 350 USD. I'm complaining and I won't stop even if nothing gets resolved. I told the seller I don't trust them for a refund after they lied about their "supposedly original" product. So they said they will refund me 200 and after I receive it, then to send it to them for a full refund but I'm trying to go for full refund if I can....
