Note 2 sighting! - Galaxy Note II General

I need some help. I am an ATT Note user and I live in Chicago. I notice when other people have Notes and always try to talk with them. Today I was about to do that when the man moved his hand and I noticed that he had a large physical button and two virtual buttons on the device. I looked at it for a while and finally asked what phone it was. He looked confused and said it was the Note. I asked if it was the Note 2 and he looked shocked and said, "umm, I dont think that's out" then he looked away. He was a normal middle aged man in casual atire. The phone had no 4G, but he had wifi on (probably a mobile hotspot). Does anyone know how the heck he could have gotten the phone. The only thing I could think of is a big time executive, but there would be no reason at all for him to be in my neighborhood and on the bus.
I know you can not see anything in the picture, but I can prove my point. You CAN see the samsung logo on the left side of the device. His hand on the right is covering the physical button. If this was the Galaxy Note the screen would not turn in that direction (unless he was rooted) . I know it's a leap of faith but I promise there was a physical button and that is the Note 2.

I'm sure there are plenty of phone testers wandering around doing phone signal tests/etc.
Before Canon releases a new camera they always loan them out to people to beta test (under NDA)
If I was testing a prototype I wouldn't tell anyone what it was, lest someone try to steal it.
- Frank

I had a manager at T-mo tell me yesterday he's seen/played with the Note II, also hinted at a possible mid october release. but i don't have much faith in him.
anyway, i'm sure there are a handful of Note II's out there. gotta test them somehow.

I think this is how they got pictures of the iPhone 4 two years ago.

The international version of the note 1 (n7000) has a large physical button and 2 soft buttons as well, Just the same as the note 2..
It can be easy to confuse the two..

So, did the phone look like this ?

it could very well be a Note n7000

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Prolly was the original note

Useless thread...see ya!
too bad it didn't work out for you. but we're happy here so maybe it's not your destiny to enjoy this awesome phone
?????
Maaaaan BS i bricked this phone so many times and put it back to normal FACTORY settings and it still runs silky smooth, and it's the same US T-Mobile HTC HD2
Still on my first HD2, which is running fine, and just the way I like it.
I don't think it's 'dead' at all. Someone come and sat next to me with the new iPhone yesterday, trying to show off. I got mine out (phone lol) and felt instantly better equipped than he did, with his little screen and locked down software.

[FIX] Lines near the edge appear curved when draw near the edge of the screen

While searching for a fix from samsung FAQ due to charging hissing, I saw this FAQ from Samsung site. This guide don't appear on some of the country's Samsung FAQ, but it shows up in International Samsung FAQ.

I tested it, and it works!
P.S., I went to my local Samsung Service Centre, they replaced my hissing charger with a new one instantly without asking any question. I'm sure they knew about this. The most interesting part is the the charger is heavier compared to the my previous one.
Do let me know if this thread is already created.
Thanks in advance,

Tried this, and it doesn't work for me. When set to Right Handed, there's a minor deviation. When set to left handed, there's a far more severe deviation.

Depends on which Hand you write with

Nope, and the phone can't tell which hand you're using anyway. I tried both settings. Left handed has a more pronounced deviation, but there's still a deviation for both hands. And I tried that with both hands too.

Just try to draw with this two angle, and you will know the difference.

I know how to draw lines. It deviates on both settings, it's just significantly worse when set to left handed. The position of the pen itself is irrelevant.
Yours is deviating on both too, though not as much as mine is.

Why Note 2 is better than Note 3

You can't do this with the Note 3

you'll never know when you might need them, such as when watching a movie.
Nice joke , get case and do it
Anyway won't replace note 2 for 3 , maybe to note 4 or S5
I can't tell if you're serious or kidding. Regardless, there are multiple solutions that'll work on the N3. I use a Seido case on my N2 which has a kickstand. That way I don't have to carry a "nipple" around with me.
I'm not too sure why there's always a certain number of people who would go against the idea of upgrading when the new version gets announced.
This happened after the announcement of note 2 as well but I bet many of them have upgraded now!

It's a suction cup stand, but one member calls it dildo and another calls it nipple.
Am I on xda or some porn forum site?
haha you all crack me up!
Jokes aside, I too don't like the back of the Note 3. I LOVED Hyperglaze and I also liked A LOT the OG Note's back. Faux leather is AWFUL but at least they didn't go with metal or glass which are the stupidest and most awful materials you can put on MOBILE devices. "Thank" you, brainwashed drones who kept going on about how "cheap and flimsy" Samsung flagships' backs "are"....

Question for pen user. Durability?

Anyone noticing a difference in their pen durability from the Note 2?
I have had my Note3 for about a month now and I use my pen a few times a week but already noticed the tip is taking some wear. I do not think it will make it past 6 months..

I still have the note 2 but I prefer this pen on the 3 more.
I haven't noticed the durability taking a hit yet so far it seems fine. I use mine regularly as well.

They do give you a pack of replacement tips in the box.

I use mine quit often and still seems to be doing fine. I prefer my note 2 pen over the note 3 cause it would only go in one way and this helped me to be able to tell which end is up without looking. The note 3 spen keeps getting swapped around with the button on the bottom alot with me (probably just me though). It did come with about 5 or so tips for the n3 and the n2 didn't which led me to believe the tip would need to be changed out. I'm going on a month now with mine as well and have been using it more and more each day it seems. I wonder how often you should change out the tip or will you know when you need to?
Edit: That's a HUGE photo!

Taken with the Note 3 . I must have missed the replacement tips on the box.

A Peak at Android 6.0 for the Note 4

They are giving us the new Touchwiz icons that look like they are the result of Touchwiz being raped and getting a back alley abortion. Nooooooooooo. I hope they at least include themes so that we can hide that mess. Then again, by the time this is actually released by Verizon, I assume a lot of us will have already moved on to non Samsung phones.
I think the biggest UI upgrade I can recall occuring on a Samsung device was maybe when the OG Note got Jellybean and looked fairly similar to the Note II and picked up some new features. Otherwise, Samsung has traditionally let as little as possible trickle down from their latest flagships to "last year's" model when doing updates---look at the Note 4 or the Note 3 Lollipop situation , for example. Neither phone was as smooth or as refined under Lollipop as it was under KitKat (I do not recall if the Note 3 was better under JB or KK). I certainly do not expect things like theme support or manual camera modes to ever trickle down to the Note 4. I'll just be glad to get its RF and battery performance back to where it was with KitKat.
I highly, highly doubt we ever see this.

His demo phone seems to be very laggy as hell with MM 6.0. Hopefully by the time we getting this it should be better.
It looks like it has a few things I might like. But the icons, dear lord are they bad. Way to iPhoneish for my liking.
The settings menu looks decent to me though.

Exactly why I hope they throw in themes. I hope somebody asks on the youtube page. He's been answering questions. (I tried to ask, but youtube won't let me sign in since I deleted G+ and my YT channel.)
