Costco Prices

$789.99 month to month
$649.99 if you sign for a plan $20-$35 a month
$599.99 if you sign for a plan $50-$80 a month
1g for 20, 3g for $35, 5g for $50, and 10g for $80
So i guess my $699 was close, but was missing a lot of info...
Are those contract plans? Why would it be more than Verizons contract plan of 599?

Costco + More Expensive than Verizon = very suspect
Couldn't those be the price points for a 1yr and 2yr contract?

Agreed, but with the game of price-swap going on and the fact the price isnt showing up on Verizon or Motorola’s website, leads me to think that this game might not be over. Less than 24 hours out, you’d think we’d see “for realsies” prices on web sites by now.
Yesterday was a “good news” day for the Xoom, lets hope that today isnt more akin to the days that preceeded it. This launch could have gone so much smoother...

The real important question is how much is the ETF??!! If it's the standard $200 then a contract is worth considering. If it's Verizon's new more expensive ETF, then no contract is a no brainer.

Engadget posted the Verizon Press Release.
"the Motorola XOOM will be available for purchase from Verizon Wireless for $599.99 with a new two-year customer agreement or $799.99 without a contract. Wireless 3G data service for the Motorola XOOM will begin at $20 monthly access for 1GB."

But still worth it for the 90 day return policy. Will be swapping out for the wi-fi version immediately upon release.
I don't know what i'm going to do.. I really want the 90 day return policy, but Costco doesn't take VISA as payment.. Guess i'll have to get a cash advance from the bank before I head over to Costco.

I'm in the same boat. The thing I'm taking as higher importance is the warranty extension my Visa card gives me if I pay with it. I won't get the same thing if I pay with a debit card or cash.
Check the costco thread, someone is saying it's only a 14 day return period from costco on the xoom.

[Q] Anybody bought it with the Best Buy financing?

I'm thinking on buying The Xoom either the full amount ($799) or getting it via Best Buy financing for 18 months no interest. Just wondering if anybody got the 18 month financing payment what is your monthly payment? Also what did you have to pay up front? Thanks in advanced
I'm neither an account nor a math wiz, but at 18 months no interest for $800, you're looking at payments around $50 a month.

After tax your looking around 850/18 months is gonna be around $50 a month like said above.
Yeah I was just wondering if there were any other fees and stuff, cause if so I would just buy the whole thing up front. If not then monthly would better
I have purchased a few Items at best buy with zero intrest, just make sure you remember to pay it off before promotion expires, there are no other fees.
You don't *have* to pay a set amount each month, you do have to at least pay a minimum. You could pay $100 one month, $25 the next, etc.
If it *isn't* paid off by the end or if you miss a payment completely, there used to be small print that says they could charge you all the interest at that point.
The "no interest" is a little mis-leading, there is a monthly percentage fee for "debt cancellation" which is basically the fee for not charging you interest. It's significantly reduced from actual interest gain, but it still isn't a true 0.
On the whole, if you can afford it upfront, you'd save yourself some money.
I see. Thanks for the info fellas

debt cancellation (account shield) is not mandatory and is always 100% optional.
OP You can pay your payment in store (cash or check, no credit cards) as well as online. Otherwise there is a minimum payment due every month (I wanna say either 10 dollars or 10%). If you have any more questions shoot!
Agree i have never heard of the percentage fee. And i am been using them for years, i just make sure to pay it off way early and never ever be late.
I'm pretty sure he signed up for account shield which is roughly ~$1.20? on every 100 dollars you spend
And what is the account shield for?

account shield is in the event of a natural disaster, someone steals the device or other things (I don't work in that department, so not sure about everything) you will not be required to owe payments

I bought my macbook pro from bestbuy no interest 18 months. I paid the minimum (about $25 a month) for about a year. Then I made several large payments of $200 over the next few months to pay it off. So what I'm saying is u can pay it off at any rate or structure u want just don't miss a payment.
If u don't pay off in 18 months, the APR is somewhere around 25% lol. So pay that sucker off early!!! I think I was done a month or so early. (25% on $1400 isn't very fun).

Yea its extremely ridiculous. That's why they offer 0% interest over 18 months is because the deferred interest is massive. Its really a solid deal, even if you want to just buy it and pay it off a few months later, not wait the whole 18 months.

LOL! As many bricks as we've had, they're still a very small percentage of the actual claims.
I blame that the US $ keeps dropping in value...
I haven't gotten the notice in my mailbox yet. Currently, I'm paying $7 a month for my TEP on each of my two phones. If the increase is another $8 each phone making it $15 a phone, I would cancel TEP. It's not worth it as the EPIC is aging, and I would rather pay up some money and get another phone.
It is not $8.00 plus $7.00 it is a $1.00 increase bringing the total to $8.00. Pull your head out.

I just cancelled mine and I use BestBuy's insurance because it's only $2 more (now) and covers user error.
Heh, I was going to post that this should be a poll with the options "It's inflation and to be expected", "ZOMG Sprint is farking me!", and "ZOMG it's because you guys keep insurance claiming rom bricks!".... apparently I was too late though and they've all been covered already
My guess is that if it wasn't for all the fraudulent claims, it wouldn't have gone up.
This was a good reminder for me to cancel mine. Paying nearly $100 a year (per line) plus a possible $150 deductible to replace a phone is not worth it.
I've had my phone replaced a few times under the TEP (without paying deductible), and although it was nice, in each case it would have been covered by the manufacturer warranty anyway.

I thought it was 8 dollars already
@mattalica how the hell are u paying $420 on tep
TEP is 100% worth it, it covered the replacement costs for 2 Moments
One had a bad USB port, replaced for free, other was stolen replaced for $100.
So figure 2 new moments at $400 each, - $100, and I figure I am $700 ahead
Even if it goes up, it has paid foritself already many times over!!

Agreed. My wife has had 2 stolen, one go through the wash, and one run over by a Mack truck. My son has had one go through the wash, and one time he ran into the ocean with his Blackberry in his pocket. My other son left his phone outside overnight in the rain.
And none of that include all the times we've taken phones back to the store for TEP swaps for bad speakers and other defects.

It starts in July.
I accidentally effed my battery terminals as an Epic n00b... paid $100 for a replacement but it certainly beats paying $300-350 for a flebayed Epic. Staying with TEP.

NS4G Best Buy Trade?

Since I'm not getting any answers in the Nexus forums, and I need an answer quickly, and I figured this community is full of kind people, I need a bit of help.
I have a Nexus S 4G and it hasn't been 30 days, and I wanted to go to best buy and trade it for the Epic 4G Touch.
I want to know if this is actually possible, and if I need to bring it in it's box or just the phone, and if I should use an "I didn't like it" excuse or something.
I'm feeling a bit sketchy about it, considering I got it with an upgrade.
if you got it after sept. 9, the window is only 14 days, not 30, otherwise yeah, you can exchange it and pay any difference owed. Don't know if you need the box and everything but I'd imagine you do

That depends. Sprint recently got a little more hardcore about their $35 restocking fee. I think you can still do one free "customer satisfaction" exchange within the 14 day window (30 day window for you). If they don't charge you the restocking fee, you only have to pay the difference in price between the two phones, which I believe is $50 right now, but Best Buy has different pricing than other stores.
The $36 activation/upgrade fee should have been charged to your account when you got the Nexus. They won't charge you $36 again for a swap.

Do we get taxed?

I'm located in BC, Canada. Does anyone have experience to buying google devices on play.google.com?
Those of you in Canada, did you have to pay tax? Or is it $309 outright?
One more question, can we preorder the phone or do we have to wait til Nov 13 to buy the phone online?
Thanks~!
I'm sure there will be taxes collected somehow... as for when we order I'm not sure. Hoping earlier then the 13 so we get it on that day. So in other words a pre-order.

UK buyer here. I was under the impression that the £279 for the 16 gig included tax.
After having another look on the "Devices on Google Play Terms of Sale (Great Britain)" page it states:
All prices include VAT.
All applicable taxes will be presented at checkout, even if they are not displayed on the product page.
So what is it, the price shown includes VAT, or it doesnt and an extra 80 quid will be thrown on top of the 279?
