[Q] Is Pentile that noticeable? - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had a Samsung Fascinate a bit ago that used a pentile-type amoled, and it was noticeable. How does it look on here? Im hoping its not bad since this phone looks pretty beastly.

The whites are not as bright as other phone such as the galaxy S2 or galaxy S3 but it is not that noticeable and it's pretty good of a screen in my opinion.

And if it's similar to the initial Razr XT910 model, I've never noticed it on that phone. Agreed re:whites though.

Galaxy Note AMOLED vs S2

Hi,
Can someone compare the display of the 2 ?
Does note suffers on the same yellowish curse or unbalanced gray ?
Thanks
I have not seen either of these on my Galaxy Note
I haven't seen either of those on my SII or Note..
Both have amazing screens, Note is sharper than the SII imo tho

I agree with you.

Ik have both phone and can confirm that the Note doesnt have a yelloish side like the sgs2
Both have their own discolourations to extend life, but Note does look better overall even with pentile.

I just recently returned my Galaxy S2. The Note display is definitely better and doesn't suffer from discolorations.

Infuse to SGSIII

I'm really looking into jumping from my Infuse to SGSIII. Love my infuse and all the development for it, but I'm looking for something new to play around with. Plus I'd like something with more modern specs. 500mb of RAM just isn't enough... So my question is, is the jump worth it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
It's definitely worth it, the Infuse is basically a first generation Galaxy S (Captivate with bigger screen), and you're jumping to the third generation of the Galaxy series. It's pretty awesome, and the phone's a beast!

That's how I've been looking at it. Slightly upgraded Galaxy S to SIII. I've had my eye on that white one. Just wish they had black.

Yeah I was initially going for the pebble blue, but the white one is quite a beauty! It's a great, feature-packed phone!

Long time infuse user here. Had the SGSIII for a few days now and I will tell you that you will love it. Wanted black as well, never had anything but black but the blue just didn't work for me and I'm liking the white. Bottom line I believe as an infuse user u will not be sorry.

Thanks.I think I can get use to it.I had the note 1 but it was to laggy thats why I got rid of it.
Just that the screen looks a little bit sharper and punchier in S3 because of it's smaller screen.

Came from s3, after 2 months sold my s3 and went for the note2. Took me 3 days to get used to the size. Note 2 is like a super charged s3! Im lovin everythin on this thing!

I came from a GT-I9300 international white S3 to my GT-N7100 international titanium Note2.
The S3 was FAST, most of the time. There are still android stutters here and there, like with animations ect. Even after updating to the newest Jelly bean 4.1, it made the phone smoother especially scrolling in the browser but the micro stutters are still present.
The Note 2 is almost stutter free, (much better than the S3). It rivals the iOS in the 4S and 5 for smoothness in my opinion.
The battery life on the S3 was great, the Note 2 takes it to the next level.
I used to have the International Note 1 before my S3 and I never used the S-Pen because frankly it sucked and was a pain to use. It was inaccurate, not sensitive enough for writing or drawing well imho and was too small to feel comfortable in the hand. You literally had to press it up against the screen with a fair amount of pressure for it to register.
The S-Pen on the Note 2 is a million times better, no joke. I use it ALL THE TIME now. Browsing the web, scrolling through my song list, browsing my photos. It is such a joy to use that I always take it out and use it. It's that good! Writing with it feels natural and realistic.
I could go on and rave about it endlessly but I need to go back to work...
Is it worth it over the S3? Unquestionably. This thing is absolutely the best phone in the world and in my line of work, I have the pleasure of owning and using almost every high end android phone that comes out.
Im previously a user of Note 1..was thinking to get S3, but change my mind.. not because of the awesomeness of S3 feature SW and HW, but because the screen is small to me..what people are saying that u will never go back to small screen after get Note 1 was true..lol..so now Note 2 which im consider oversized of S3, had make my dream come true! U will never regret it, not until Note 3 come out of cause..lol

Yeah, the S3 isn't at all laggy. My partner has an S3 and it's on par with the Note 2. The Note 2 is slightly overclocked but I would NEVER say that the S3 is laggy. Ufff... haha.
I also came from an s3, I have zero regrets and will be selling the gs3.
I agree with others who disliked the launcher redraws and lack of ram.
love the note 2 screen, the stylus is great and the battery life is much better.
Overall all the benefits of the s3 but refined and improved. imho

Guys, please help
Owning a sgs 3, considering buying note 2
I've heard from different sites very different opinions about the screen. Now I think it's better to ask someone who owned both devices, since theoretically note 2 screen should be better.
Someone says that s3 screen is sharper, is it true? And how it's it with the text sharpness and whites in reality?

How many people think that the Note 2 battery could have been a little bit better? Perhaps 3300mah to 3500mah? Same as the Droid Razor Max HD which gets close to 24hr battery. The note 2 gets about 13-15.

Moto X vs. the Gnex

Is it just me or does the Moto X feel very reminiscent of the Samsung G-nex?
I think so, too. The GNex, to me, definitely feels better than my N4, recently sold S4 and every other phone I've owned. I wish the X didn't have such sharp edges though and because that it comes in second for comfort. I will never get rid my GNex... ever.
Sent from my Moto Ghost
You mean in hand or something? I don't really think so given its a bit smaller and the gnex was pretty plasticy.
The shape being rounded corners and such seems to be the one similarity

yea... the shape and form factor. the materials build is worlds different of course..
I meant the form factor also, not a fan of so much plastic. Although I must say my GNex is put together better than two S3s and an S4 I've owned, tight fitting and responsive buttons.

Yea could be certain ways I hold it but the bottom corners dig into my palms, not a big deal because I love this phone.

I think it does. The look and feel of it is almost like the natural evolution of the galaxy nexus. I love my new moto x
Gnex is much more comfortable to hold if you have large hands, comparing with moto x

Yeah, but one where everything actually works, it will actually play good games, the battery doesn't suck, and my data is constantly connected.
So actually no, not really.

Lol the gnex is the reason I left Verizon. They gave me like 5 gnexs lemons. Never had reception or battery life screens always developed dead pixels. When the nexus 4 came out I I ended my contract early along with my unlimited plan and went to T-Mobile and have had no regrets.
They do look similar though. Probably overall footprint is close.

Haha same here.
My first gnex had some issue with LTE radio. Second one was OK but it ate batteries like crazy.
Camera was terrible . at least the moto x is somewhat OK. Only thing really similar is the screen size

Yea my first one was flawless but then it stopped charging. Plus I'm on an employee plan so I dont qualify for getting a different device after x amount of replacements. 7 devices later finally upgraded to a note 2 and a DNA

Is it worth a full price upgrade from a Verizon Galaxy Nexus? Full price to retain unlimited data.
I had the Verizon GNex... absolutely horrible experience. The Moto X is leaps and bounds beyond anything that came before it, especially the GNex.

The outside edge of the gnex is so dam sturdy. It's not metal but I put that phone thru more than any other and it never broke. Best tank phone I've ever had hands down.

I loved my Gnex, maybe I just had good luck. It did fine for me. I upgraded to the Motox because my Gnex was feeling a little dated.
After using it for a few weeks, holding my wife's Gnex feels gigantic.
I'm very happy with my purchase... But I was happy with my toro as well.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
I've been saying this on both tech shows I host. I upgraded from a galaxy nexus on Verizon. My other choices were the s4 and the HTC 1. I was in love with the gnex curve and form factor / size and the moto x is exactly that. If the gnex was made with better materials it might have felt as good as the moto x does in the hand. Maybe it's because the gnex is a bit outdated hardware wise, but the moto x seems so much faster and more smooth. I seriously love this phone. For my use case, it's perfect. The only thing I'm worried about is getting updates. Verizon sucks at updating devices, so I'm curious when we'll finally get 4.3.
