You have to disable driver signature checks as windows won't allow them, if you know how then upon boot go to troubleshoot settings (If you do not dual boot then you are forced to pull in your installation CD and go to Repair Computer section)
Then you go to advanced settings and after you hit boot in Safe Mode, reboot and then install the drivers and after that you need to reboot again to go to normal mode.

Same situation as mine. I successfully installed the drivers by disabling integrity check for drivers. But whenever I'm flashing, it aborts and then a pop-up appears saying that my device is not recognized

Nexus S ICS Problems Driver

prejudice to any forum.
I state that I'm an Italian who speaks no English, he writes, so forgive me for possible misunderstandings, but I'm posting the translation running google.
So are the owner of the Nexus 9023's version and then I wanted to try ICS via the Tools Cescomn I first unlocked the bootloader then root permissions and then I put a rom ics moddata atrraverso the recovery that I have changed as the guide told me. Then again, I want to change rom and then I decide to put the rom 4.0.3 Stock. So attraverlo the usb cable connected to the device I transfer the file ZD3PyN0t.zip from about 160MB. Reboot the device into fastboot recvovery I access the run and wipe and then install the rom. I was faced with the device locked with the recovery (after logging in and selecting the recovery fastboot I get black screen and then after a while you start the device) so everything is ok nothing anormale.Il problem is that there is to recognize the device in windows (both x32 and win7 win7 x64 win xp) I did the test with a nexus s aggiornatosi via ota to ics and then he immediately recognized the driver I've tried are good. Windows tells me unknown device unknown device or manually by selecting the driver. If you check the details of the device exactly match that of my friend who received ICS by ota.
What can I do?
try install google driver first
download it from here android sdk
this is the instruction
http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html
Done and redone.
facts of the problem occurs with my device, with that of a friend of mine (who has received ics via ota) no problem installing everything perfectly.
Putting it in download mode I recognized the same.
someone give me a tip?
Go to windows, manage devices, search for your phone, driver, update driver, select manually, choose android device and point it to the driver files. If it still does not work, i say you reflash your rom..

I tried many times to install the driver manually and do not go.
Now maybe I understand the problem .. a few days ago I got the ota update to 4.0.4 ics, the nexus has downloaded and installed.
The recovery tells me it's always locked, but after you press recovery from fastboot you press vol + + power and the recovery appears.
Turning the menu will not find anywhere the written MPT.
How can I fix?
The CWM does not make me install.
give me help.
thanks

This is exactly what happened to me a few days ago. Bloody update! As a consequence I lost my root byhard resetting and apparently no debug either. I am trying to communicate with my device through adb. But because of no-root nor debug I have no way to do so. Anyhelp will be greatly appreciated.

Do you use WIN 8?
Maybe try to deinstall all drivers, delete D802 in Device Manager and than install only the linked driver.

It doe not seem to be with the computer. I tried both. Connection of both seems OK. Because whenever I enter adb devices in platform-tools, the serial number shows up. But I think it is to do with my device which does not have root and debug is off. Whenever I write 'adb sideload TWRP.zip it says, it does not recognize 'sideload'.

[Q] Accidently Deleted OS

I have a Nexus 7 Wifi Tab.
It was rooted and I was flashing Android 4.4.4 Facory images on it.
It was supposed to restart automatically but it didn't so I manually powered it on.
The Google Logo Appeared and it Stayed there, There was also a start icon on the top just like there is in the bootloader mode.
I got it into bootloader mode after waiting for some time and I did a format of the OS ACCIDENTALLY.
Now when I restart it form TWRP it gives a NO OS WARNING and if I still restart it The Google Logo appears with the Start Icon on top and a small "boot failed" text on the top left.
PLZ HELP.
PLEASE SEE THE VIDEO OF THIS ON THE LINK IN THE ATTACHED PDF FILE:::
I CAN ACCESS THE BOOTLOADER and RECOVERY MODE BUT MY LAPTOP(WINDOWS) DOESN'T READ DEVICE.

You may be in what comminus calls "driver hell"
Cue the dun-dun-dun.
As of this post, I am in driver hell as well (that rhyme). For now, I suggest you carefully read the driver installation instructions in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796 - CAREFULLY. The video linked in the thread shows @tetakpatak going through the whole process. In the video description, tetapak made a "SDK - ADB - BOOTLOADER CHECKLIST". I recommend you follow this, as it helps with driver installation. I am following this too, by the way.
People have commented on the video saying that they were able to unbrick their Nexus 7.
THERE IS HOPE FOR US! (I hope)
I am also a kid who is going through the depresssion of losing his Nexus.
A problem again
I Told you that my device can't be accesed by my computer.
Buying Something Else
I've decided that if I can't fix My NEXUS 7 Then I will Buy the "HP SLATE 7"
It's Features mostly are that of the Nexus 7 exept that its display is more of a "blue Hue".

Don't worry mate, you will probably fix that without problems.
What you can do, you could for example run fastboot or ADB commands directly from Ubuntu, no drivers are needed there. It is really easy, check my little thread here under short section "INSTALL ONLY FASTBOOT":
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2726287
In the section beyond is described several ways how can you run Ubuntu on Windows computer.
Alternatively, I must ask if you have SDK on your Windows computer? You will need fastboot working so if you install Google USB driver properly, you should just open cmd, cd to your platform-tools folder and connect your tab in bootloader mode via USB cable and wait until it installs your N7 unit for fully working ADB and fastboot.
After that, you will be able to run fastboot commands. Here is excellent guide by our forum mate comminus, I suppose you already know it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796
Don't hesitate to ask if you need help.

(I flashed it before to root it with the same computer, so I guess it should detects the phone too)
Also can't get into twrp anymore at all. I'm 100% sure I can't do anything with it, I'd like a confirmation here or atleast if I can still try something let me know.
thx ...
You need to install the drivers for fastboot, you can find it in C:\Flashtool\drivers folder.
In addition to @amier.hakimi.87, you will need to reboot your pc into advanced reboot mode 7 in order to imstall those drivers too.

The first two drivers, namely flashtool and fastboot, and scroll down the list to find a (common) driver for Z2, sorry I forgot the exact name for this one. Or if yoy still feeling unassured, install all the drivers on the list then you will be satisfied. I owned multiple Sony devices so I am tired of picking the particular drivers I need, what I did was installing all the drivers available.

Windows 10 - install unsigned fastboot drivers
I have just registered here so I can add some information on how I got past the issue of fastboot not working on windows 10
I found that the fastboot drivers would not install because they were unsigned.
I was able to install unsigned drivers by following these steps:
Click the Start button, choose the Power button, press Shift and click Restart.
After Windows enters WinRE, go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings >Restart.
To install driver without digital signature, press F7 to choose the Disable driver signature enforcement option.
After allowing Windows 10 to install unsigned drivers, fastboot finally worked for me after installing the unsigned drivers.
Oh, and fair warning... I didn't realise this before unlocking my bootloader.... The phone (oneplus 8 pro) gets wiped. Very frustrating!

This is perfect! Was going to do the other solution (enable unsigned drivers etc), but this solved the issue directly.
For anyone with the same problem, in Windows update go to "View optional updates", and then select the driver you want from the list of driver updates.

Now I am feeling dumb, is there an option on how to disable preferred update options?
can you provide the steps to get the correct driver installed please?

never mind next time i will read to the bottom of the thread.
