The problem is certainly due to the drivers. Install the appropriate ones for the system that uses

USB Device Not Recognized-Windows 7

I just got windows 7 pro(clean install on new hard drive) and when I went to plug my fascinate in(using stock cable) a dialog box that read USB Device Not Recognized and Device Drivers Not Installed. I unplugged my phone but the USB Device Not Recognized still keeps popping up. Reboot fixed that but still won't recognize it? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Does anybody know of any other drivers for 7 that are 32 bit that might work? Thanks
Also I'm not rooted, stock ea28. If that helps at all. Again thanks.

Go to Samsung's support site (here) and then the software part on the download page. Download the drivers for the Fascinate and install them, and you should be good.
EDIT: or download here
I had an issue where the USB ports on the back of my motherboard would not recognize my fascinate. However, when I plug it into the USB ports in the front, it does. It might have to do with it being run through a different chip on the motherboard, (Or it could be my crappy Foxconn board.)

Yes drivers are installed. Tried kies and nothing. Then I tried reinstalling drivers and still nothing. Mtp works fine. But any time I touch the usb 3.0 option on my phone it disconnects and switches back to mtp. I get a notice saying unable to connect devices via usb 3.0. I dont have any other usb 3.0 devices to test with.

Samsung Drivers are installed with proper CDC . Never tried updating BIOS . Other USB 3.0 devices like My WD HDD works just fine. I just now installed Win 7 64x Professional . Same problem . Also i tried to format the same Win 8.1 i had before. No solution yet.
Note 3 connect to pc only as mtp.

[Q] iMito MX1 not detected by Windows (ADB)

I have an iMito MX1 with a RK3066 chip running 4.4.2. When I plug it into my computer, nothing happens. I don't see it anywhere in Device Manager (Windows 7 x64). It's not in "Other devices" or anything... it doesn't even show up as a device that can't be installed at all. It's as if I hadn't even plugged it in. Therefore, I can't use ADB.
I know the USB port is working fine because I can see the device when I boot in Recovery/Restore mode and I can successfully flash ROMs to it using the Rockchip BatchTool. I can also successfully use adb with my HTC One (m7) for example.
Any ideas?
Try a different USB cable?

I've tried two different cables and two different computers. Same outcome...
I've managed to connect with ADB through Wifi, but it still baffles me that the device isn't detected by windows!

[Q] Nexus 7 is unable to connect to any computer no matter what I try

I have this really annoying problem with brother's Nexus 7 2012 wi-fi model.
It won't connect to ANY computer. I am not able to transfer files using mtp nor see it using adb. That meaning I can't root the device. I can't use it to develop android apps...
I know that this problem is discussed all over the internet, but no solution works for me.
I tried bunch of tutorials, done factory reset to nexus and anything that i could find on the internet to connect device to PC, but nothing is working...
I believe it is related to nexus 7 usb drivers, because cable is working with my galaxy s2 and also I tried like 5 other usb cables and 2 PCs on Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Ubuntu 14.04, but still no luck.
I tried everything in post which link I can not post cause I am newly registered member (maybe after 10 posts or so as submission error states, I will update OP). It is good post with a lot of suggestions but none of them is working for me.
Then I tried full driver installation guide in nexus 7 root toolkit. I also tried bunch of other tutorials on different forums but still no luck.
It might be nexus 7 usb port problem, because I don't see it using lsusb under ubuntu, but on the other hand in windows 7 it is recognized as unknown device and some wrong generic driver is installed for it. So I am not sure what to think...
If you can help me, it will be very appreciated , because I lost all my ideas...
Update: Tablet got android 5 update recently. Connection to PC is still not working. Any advices please?
I had a similar problem but I had already rooted the n7. It wouldn't charge either. I have to charge it through the pogo port and I use a powered otg cable to access USB sticks.

How did you manage to root it? Did adb work for you?
I have the exact same problem with my nexus 7. I have also tried many things to fix it but I was not successful. I think it must be a problem with the USB port since it is charged while connected to the PC but I cannot transfer files or even install the proper USB drivers.

Usb drivers issue

Nexus 6p 128gb, latest PN7.1 rom, carrier is project Fi. Working fine as is but I'd like to try out 8.1. Plus, I can never get file transfer mode to work, irregardless of what does or does not install below.
I can't get the drivers working properly on my windows 7 pc. On two different machines.
What I've tried...
A. First uninstalling any /all android drivers via device manager as many guides suggest.
B. Plugging in with debugging off. Drivers installed but not adb.
C. Plugging in with debugging on, all drivers fail to install.
D. Installing via the sdk. Still tries to install the drivers and fails when I plug the phone in.
E. Installing the drivers via the Google provided USB drivers file. YES the authentic ones. Windows won't even recognize those. When I point the drivers installer to the folder where I unzipped them, it just says it can't find any drivers.
Is there any chance I could have jacked something up in the phone whilst screwing around with twrp, xposed, Magisk, etc in the past? Maybe a bad vendor image or something? Please help. This is making me insane.

Try a different Usb cabel sounds like the one your using is faulty.
Problem somewhat solved. It wasn't the cable. Something was screwed up in the works. I did a factory reset and got it to work on one of the two PC's I was working with. After that I was able to identify the phone with fastboot and do what I needed.
I forgot to include the fact that I was working with multiple cables because I had the same thought. I was using
1. Inatek 3.1 Gen2 cable
2. HI-CABLE
3. That stock little 8 inch cable that came with the phone.
