Is it possible to load an Lubuntu OS just from my SD card? If so, what happens if I remove the SD accidentally during use, or start up without it in?

Apps on SD card

If I move my apps to my SD card in froyo will I have to reinstall when switching roms?

Froyo is not going to mess with your SD card.
What do you mean by this

Just what I said. Froyo doesn't do anything to the files on your sd card.

Need to Upgrade sdcard

My wife's Droid Inc sdcard is just about full. I have another card to put in. Do I just copy all the files to the new card and insert it?

I would just make sure the card is formatted fat32 first, but yes, you should be fine to copy the files over.
Yes. That's how it works.
Thanks guys

MicroSD slot not working

Yesterday I was taking some pictures and noticed the pics were being saved to the internal sdcard, went storage and I can see my Samsung class 10 (fat32)card is not seen, plugged card to PC and it was working there, tried another card on phone and it does not see it so cannot mount it.
Anyone experience this with their phone?

This problem occurred to many users. I suggest you to format your card using phone in exFAT format. Revert after that.
Note if u have any data Backup tp pc and then format within the phone
But it does not accept other cards, so I have to plug a exfat card in for it to recognise there is a card in slot? Or would it be easier to do a factory reset?
This makes the assumption it is a software issue. Currently I cannot factory reset do to being away from PC as I need to backup data.

I am having the exact same problem. Is this a Samsung issue? or just a dodgy SD card?
You can only use and format your own sd card with your cell phone only not with any other platforms,,,,, live with it lol, i guess if you would like to move or copy some files just use the usb cable
