DIY Great macro lens for sgs3 - Galaxy S III General

Well i was browsing through reddit i found a nice DYI, and decided to make one for you guys.
I used the macro function on the camera aswell, it really gives awesome pictures
1. Get a Laserpen
2. Gently remove the lens from the pen without breaking it
3. Now use a hairpin to squeeze the lens inbetween
4. Use a piece of sticky tape to keep it in place
Even though the light was really bad and i had no tripod the pictures got really good
:edit: All pictures taken with stock android 4.0.4 camera

will try soon... great search...

can'tn wait to try it outside when it gets day....

that means that i have to kill them first, to get them to sit still, that includes either frying them with a electric fly zapper, or hitting them with something, both wich make them not especially photogenic, ill try to find one that is whole

That's f-ing awesome!
Get a few more of different things. I'd love to see what can be done with it

I used old cdrom drive lens to create my own macro. One of examples is here:

Gotta play around with the settings. My first initial pictures were crap. Once you start messing around with it they start getting pretty spectacular.

You might want to put the bolt back into the neck of your bike.
Very nice pictures. I love to see what this phone can do in different levels of lighting. I'm pretty impressed.

Is the xda search not working properly this forum has more than 1 thread for each and every topic.... Wtf messy too messy

Please keep to the open thread!
With some issues, multiple threads are not really too much of a problem, but if there are numerous 'photo' threads, then no doubt we will lose quality photos to the depths of the forum never to be seen again.
Many users place the photography quality high on their list when choosing a phone, so let's make it easy for them to see what a great job Samsung did with the camera.
Regards.

The gallery is really impressive too. Also, I watched a video in GSMArena.com. At the end of the video, they showed some effect like Scalado Remove. In the video, 3 girls were posing, those girls were like a picture and people were moving in the background! Really impressed me!
I like the look of the "sequence" shot thingy, very impressive.:good:

Jealous fellow Canadian!

They look good. Anyone else notice that the HTC One pics here and in several other places tend to look like 3D rendered pics. I've notice quit a few that look like a 3D canvas with textures laid on top of the objects. LOL The one of the punching bags is a prime example.
Also where did you get an HTC One? Looking for proof so snap a picture of the phone taking a pic of itself in the mirror
One more just taken with HDR on... Can you tell I like close ups lol

thank you for posting these photos !
please post some more outdoors THX
Impressive in low light, and let's be honest: the moments we really wanna capture for the future usually happen under challenging conditions.
What I don't like however is the 9:16 aspect ratio for portrait mode. It's terrible for viewing on TV and a proper 3:4 ratio picture only contains 3 million pixels. I could live with fewer shots done by Zoe burst mode but at 8MP, oh well...
Someone requested outdoor shots , so I went out to my balcony and took a few. I'll upload some better ones once I go roam the streets later.
But for now...

You should make a video where a girl and guy are walking down the street and they see each other but out of his back pocket is an iPhone so turns away as the iphone isn't worth her time.
