Creating CUSTOM BACKGROUNDS for your S-Notes... - Galaxy Note 10.1 General

If you are unhappy with the limited backgrounds that come with S-Notes, don't worry, using any image in your tablet as a background for your notes is easy to do.
** Thanks to BarryH_GEG for pointing me in the right direction on this idea
From the S-Notes home screen, before clicking the "+" button to create a new note, import an image using the menu. This image will be your note's background. Once the image has imported the template chooser will appear. Select the template you wish. Once you have selected the template your new notebook will appear with your chosen background using the template you selected.
Cool, right?
I like writing with white pen on a dark background. Here's a sample:

What's wrong with it? On my screen it just says my name.
OK just deleted it for now Sorry about that. Looked fine on Tapatalk.

Two more nice "chalkboard" type backgrounds if you like writing with white pen on dark surface as I do. This look should appeal to students who want to capture that classroom and blackboard feel in your notes.

Yes-- i believe you will need to follow the steps above each time you have a new notebook. And i think it will stay the same for each additional page you do in the notebook.

Yes, if you import the image at the start of the note it remains for all pages. If you change the background from within the note you have to redo it.

You should be able to save any image of ruled/lined paper off of google and use that for a background. I don't know if there is a recommended size or not.

Get a free app called Write and adjust the lines and side rule to the size you want then take a sceen shot and resize the image to the size you need and use that for your s-note template.

I've made my custom book covers available for download, along with some page backgrounds.
You can grab them here: http://fav.me/da2psq6 12Mb zip file, containing 25 jpgs..

i love the idea but honestly speaking, i really dont like the colour theme.. (the red part i mean..i see that the blue is skinable so...it would be nice if it was black like manila or make the application skinable..i'd gladly make some skins if it was like that or help with the graphics if needed
seeing this reminded me of that film "wargames"
I agree about the colour scheme - I look forward to the future developments of this one and will try it when the VS computer option is ready.
Cheers
here is how it loks with a carbon background
This is fantastic. I cant wait for the release that has player vs computer. Colors are a bit loud, especially in the dark. Maybe a color selection option and ability to change background would be great...if possible.

The skin for the game part can be changed (as in the post above), the tabs are part of the ManilaGames framework.
See here for the ManilaGames framework.
With regards to the skin, the two O/X are 120x120 pixels, offset at 0 and 120 pixels (width) respectively. The "buttons" are 90x40, offset by 240 and 360 pixels (width). The background is 480x640 pixels, offset by 120 pixels (height) from the top.
perfect..i see now the file for the slider..i have no idea what to do to make the exe after i skin it.could i send you the skin(s) after i make them?
edit: by the way the lines which show in the middle of the screen during the game. where is its resource located?
Sweet! I can't wait for your next games!

Bottom curtain...

hey, i was just wondering if there was a way to make the bottom curtain in TF3D invisible so you can see the background, but at the same time only show that part of the background, and not things that overflow behind the curtain, such as "About" in the Settings tab (see below).... maybe a way of tricking the manila, or by buliding up a few layers to compromise of the curtain.... i dunno, just a thought

cheers for the reply, but i already know about the different curtains availabale and how to edit manila files etc, i was jus wondering if there was a way to create a manila file, where the bottom curtain is the same as the bottom part of a background, thus eliminating overflow in tabs, but also maximising wallpaper space...

hi, the picture you posted is not about a curtain or something. it is part of the team glassflo3D. all the tabs are invisible except for the one selected. take a look at the link below. what you could do is download the glassflo3d theme and compare the manilla files with a stock one for example to see the modifications.
good luck!

as you can see the curtain still has the invisible effect, but u cant see any interaction from the tabs themselves, only the background....
Yes you can, you need to download any bottomcurtain file, open it in manilla editor or cfc gui, export the image and replace it with the part of the wallpaper that the bottomcurtain covers. after that, replace the image in the manila file, disable tf3d and copy the manila to windows.
It's a lot of work though for just a change in two tabs, but if you really want it, it's possible.
Grtz
im also experiencing this problem any ideas except of this one above?

[Request] Picture plugin for Titanium (with folder choice)

I know it already exists one, but its not customizable in what folder to show.
My ideia is to mix some of the already available plugins out there.
The Favorite People plugin already has the show picture part done.
And the System and Weather plugins use mortcript for some extra tweaking.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I was thinking of a simple softkey button that allows the user to choose a folder (with a browse layout).
And a simple mortscript code to list all the available images on that folder, saving it to a text file database or so.
The plugin would have 3 pages (previous, current and next image). Then, as you scroll left or right, the mortscript would change the name of the images on the plugin pages to make a circular order (or random, if that extra setting existed).
The size of the pictures would be much bigger than the current one, like the plugin changes that theDaniel (used here as an example) and KerMiT80 already made. The picture date of creaton would be a nice detail, as shown in the example, but that would probably give much more work than necessary, so it would probably not appear.
Instead, the plugin could show the full count of the images inside that folder, and what number is showing at the moment.
The condensed view could show a text with a picture icon saying "x pictures in folder Y", being X the total number of pictures inside and Y the folder name or path.
And, of course, if you click on the picture it would pop-up the "picture viewer" showing that image.
This would be pretty easy for me to do in flash, but outside flash, not so much...
So, does anyone want to do this? I can help on the CPR editing, some of the registry code and do the dinamyc picture frame with a small shadow...
Someone is already making such plugin, rpereira is designing a slideshow picture plugin with a specified folder.
Thats great news, where did you read that?

I haven't done a lot of modifying. I removed a lot of unnecessary panels, reordered the rest, and changed the titanium panel with a design by roloracer and his program.
While I like the transparent top bar, I find the solid black lower bar less distracting when using other programs. I also like the simple white phone icons over roloracers colored ones.
The wallpaper came from the thread in excalibur.
I'd like to change the titanium font to Segoe or maybe Opera. I'd also like to change the clock icon to something more antique. It would be awesome if the clock could reflect the time on the panel instead of being static.
how did you change the color of the panel? did you use Titanium File Changing ?

Wallpapers withouth cropping in 4.2

Short version:
How to get cropping like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(height box as high as the whole box), instead of what we get now.
Hi,
In 4.2, as I understand, I cant set a wallpaper without having it being cropped first - the tool selects different part of the image for landscape and portrait. I understand this, and now that it requires quite a big picture - (2560 for vertical part (in portrait mode) and even more for landscape, because the selected region will be used on, lets say ~3500 pixels (2560+scrolling). so the minimum picture to have and use to get 1to1 pixel is ~3500x2560). And thats fine, there are plenty of pictures like this.
However, when I select a picture to download, o select it as a whole, and not only the middle. So I'd like to put it the whole, as I see it.
It was allowed in older androids.
There is no problem of getting an image of 5020x2560 and higher, so I could use this, but the problem is that 4.2 doesnt allow it at the moment.
If I wanted to do this now, I would have to take the picture, add a big border around it, so the picture itself would be in the middle, and then after cropping, I would get the picture I wanted in the first place.
Hopefully you understood me, and can give advice on how to do this in 4.2.
Thank you
P.S. Just to clarify even more - If, lets say I have image 4000x3000, and I want to display all of it, not just middle, then just let me put it as a wallpaper, and when the tablet is in protrait, there will be more than 2560 pixels to take anyway, so no need of cropping.
Why is it doing cropping anyway?
No scrolling, but this may help:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ridgelineapps.simpleimagewallpaper&hl=en
I search for 1600x2560 wallpapers, and then set the image to the app linked above. The upside of no scrolling is that moving between homescreens is really smooth (it was already smooth, but no stutters at all).
As far as your question goes, I remember using some ROMs that allowed me to re-size the inner boxes (the one that has vertical and horizontal rectangles on top of one another) inside the picture cropping box, is that feature present in 4.2? If so, enlarge the size of the box, and then you'll be able to see the whole picture, not just the middle, when scrolling around.

I just tried this app, but I got much better results by downloading a 2400x1600 wallpaper and stretching the crop box to fill it (it fits exactly).
I'm in the middle of writing a wallpaper app for the N10, depending on what access is available to the wallpaper setting APIs I'll have it automatically set pixel perfect if possible.

Oh god, thank you for this app rec. I despise the scrolling wallpaper stuff spread out over multiple screens. It seems to do exactly what I want. Have you noticed that it affects battery life differently since it is implemented as live wallpaper?
