Problems since a factory reset... - Xperia Play General

Hi !
First of all, sorry fot my bad english, I'm french.
Further to a factory reset, I have two problems which appeared on my Play. In the first place, my Play is not recognized by none of my PC, while everything worked well before. Then, the button Home doesn't work anymore.
I made others factory reset since, but it changes nothing... And I cannot change version Android because my bootloader is locked ("bootloader unlock allowed: NO").
So, do you have any idea to repair my Play ? :crying:
Thanks

I would highly recommend you FTF back to stock completely. This will make your phone brand new out of the box state software wise and should resolve whatever issue you are having.
There is one thread that has all the FTF files in one list, but I could only find this.

Some other links that may help:

Thanks for your help !
But now, I can't drag and drop the ".ftf" file into FlashTool. (I have a little sign "stop", who mean I can't do that).
Here, what FlashTool give me :
20/043/2012 23:43:54 - INFO - <- This level is successfully initialized

20/044/2012 23:44:02 - INFO - Root Access Allowed
Maybe it's because of the "Error mounting system read-write" ? So, do you have else idea to reinstall the Frimware ?
EDIT: Now I have:
21/001/2012 00:01:20 - INFO - <- This level is successfully initialized

21/001/2012 00:01:30 - INFO - Root Access Allowed
But it's always impossible to install the frimware, are you sure I can with a locked bootloader ?
EDIT 2: Ok, that's work ! I just have to copy/paste the frimware in the right folder (Falshtool/ Frimwares/).
Thanks !!

You can install any of the custom ICS Roms already available for the ARC on the development section, based on the ICS Beta. Or wait a few days and there will probably be custom Roms based on the final version released today.
Leaked Chinese .562 is indeed the final version. Only thing missing is some Google apps, due to regional laws etc. So since that can be flashed in the Arc, I don't see why the Nordic can't too.

I flashed the Nordic update on my Arc with no problems. Except it is now identified as an Arc S instead of Arc.

You must ensure you install Flashtool version 0.7.0.0 for this process to work. The older versions of Flashtool do not have the command to handle the new ICS partition resizes.

If phone working without charger i dont think that is battery.
You cant turn on phone at all or what?
If u can try to root it and be sure that debuge mode (in settings) is on or try different kernel or all package frome here:

Anyway to get this thing running?
Its so weird for me, try on another pc or laptop, it migh help.
Try rooting the phone first? it might help.
Try rooting then unlock bootloader before flashing a new firmware.

Root XPERIA Pro MK16i/a (Easy Way)

I was playing with my new Xperia Pro device and tried to root it using DooMLoRDs toolkit, but didn't work for me.
This is how I managed to root my device the easier way,
This works on 4.1.B.0.587, ICS 4.0.4
Download Latest Flashtool
Download this Kernal MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_Kernel.ftf
Using Flashtool --> Flash the Kernal --> Select MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_Kernel.ftf
Give it some time
The phone will reboot it self but won't start, just blank black sceen, it's OK.
Take out the battery, re-insert it and Power it on, in Flashtool --> Root --> Force Emulator
Give it some time, requires 2 - 3 reboots.
Flash back the original Kernal MK16_4.1.B.0.587_Kernel.ftf
Done.
Download both kernal files in attachments.
Good luck.
Reverting to the previous version Kernel, rooting, and flashing back to the latest version is the "old" way at the moment, isn't it?
Hello,
i wonder, does this kernel swapping affect data on the phone (sms, calendar, apps...)? My main point is, should i back up everything and be prepeared to recover and reinstall it all afterwards?
Have a nice day

Phone not visible to Flashtool
Hi,
I don't know why but my phone is not visible to Flashtool.
At first I didn't turn the USB debugging on. So I tried again by turning on that option after which, I saw the installation notification on Windows system tray.
As if windows was trying to install a driver. But the installation failed. So should I be downloading a driver for USB dubbing?
My phone is still not visible to the flashtool. But I am able to get into phone's memory and everything. Please suggest.
I also don't have the Sony PC suite, can that be a problem?
Thanks for the kernels

Also flashtool does not support my model. What a shame. there are all the xperia e models apart from e4.
May be not yet support, i do not see E21xx on device list,
Try go to androxyde flashtool thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Or you can try flashing with sony pc companion, or with sony flashtool emma (unlocked devices)
Why, when I try to flash my xperia e4 e2105, it gives me error which says, : (Unable to read from phone after having opened it)?
Try re flash using sony pc companion,
I can't because I had unlocked the boot loader and pcc won't let me. I tried flash to system in fastboot mode and bricked it. It only boots up to sony and reboots. I can't see the reason why it is not letting me flash the files in flash mode. When I create a bundle there is my phone model number but it won't let me flash the ftt. It's like flashtool is not recognize my device. Also when you go to flashtool, devices, manage, cdfID Editor, my model is not listed.
How with emma flashtool?

If you're using Flashtool you don't have to enable debugging. Just push the button to flash ant connect your phone in FLASH MODE when instructions appears. However, if you've unlocked bootloader phone you can fast-boot any rom you desire, just download ROM and use those commands (if you know where to put al files):
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot flash system system.img
and/or other
thanks for answering

Do you have unlocked bootloader? IF yes, why didn't you try to flash ROM via fastboot instead?
Try flashing a newer FTF and uncheck TA partition.
Fastboot is beside the point and not a real flash, FTF is a full flash and should always work no matter what.

I've tried everything through flashmode but it always gets stuck in usb debuggins and unknown sources error.
What I've found is that my device is locked, I've tried to unlock bootload using code sony provided me but it fails to do so:
fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x441733FD90D750CE
...
FAILED (remote: Command did not succeed)
finished. total time: 0.039s
---
So bootloader is locked, is there any way to unlock it? I have sony xperia z c6603.
Probably corrupted bootloader or partition table, possibly from flashing TA. It happens. If that's the case, I think it's dead.
Don't worry about bootloader, one thing at a time - try to get a stock FTF flashed and working then worry about that later.
But the USB Debugging / Unknown Sources is *not* the error, this is irrelevant for flashmode and fastboot, Flashtool always says that. The real error is "You must have the according fsc script to flash this device". Google for that error for more advice. But as I said, you should try a different FTF. It could be a damaged file or incomplete download.
Also make sure you're running the latest Flashtool and installed the flashmode drivers from it.

Wait, are you using Flashtool 0.9.19.0? I just read that lots of people are having this error. Try older Flashtool version.
Sent from my Xperia Z using Tapatalk
Use an older version of flashtool, the newest doesn't support older devices. Use 0.9.18.6 instead
Just said that but anyway...
Seems like a pretty serious bug in Flashtool.

It's not a bug as such. The file that the latest version complains of not being present has to be created by someone that has a Z.
It states fairly clearly that the Z isn't supported on the Flashtool downloads page.
This release is valid for ZL,Z1,Z2,Z3,Z3c,Z3+/Z4,Z4Tablet,E4,E4G,M2,M4 at the moment. As far as new fsc are added, more phone will be compatible. I need your help for that. I will add a tuto on how to generate / add new fsc. If your phone is not in this list, stick to the previous release (still online)

If I was at home, then I'd go ahead and create the fsc file, but I'm not and my Z is there.
If anyone else feels like doing it, then there are basic directions here.
Ah ok, so its just a temporary legacy regression and possibly the fsc will be included in later Flashtool versions.

It will be included when someone with a Z creates it and sends it to Androxyde. I'm unable to do this for a few days, so hopefully someone else will do it before then.
