I bought a couple apps, and now it says "payment method declined" under my Play Store balance. What on earth is this?

When you activated the N7 and signed into your gmail account, you should have gotten the $25 credit and an e-mail informing you of the credit. Did that happen? When you go to make a purchase, does the $25 credit show in the dropdown for payment method?

So you bought a used device and reset it when you received it in Europe and signed into Google?
There's no code, if you're eligible all you do is sign into your Google account for the setup screen and it activates the credit.

I dunno if it helps or not, but I haven't been able to use the credit for anything involving subscriptions (bummer, I wanted to subscribe to Slam magazine) but I had no issues buying individual issues

Bumping because I have this same issue. Most apps will allow purchase, but some won't. When I e-mailed the devs to find out if they could choose to decline payments from Play Store credit, they said that they could not. I am rooted on stock, but my wife is having the same issue with this same app on her account (unrooted N7). I've contacted the play store and hope to post a response when if I find out anything.

I've having the issue too - only seems to be an issue with apps from certain devs. I've emailed the author of the app to see what's app. I'll post my finding when they reply...

Ha! The author of the apps that I can't seem to purchase responding saying they they don't know why and basically told me to contact Google to find out why. I politely responded that *they* should contact Google - not me! Like I told them, they are the ones that are losing the sale here!
Not real encouraged by their "customer service", so I probably won't buy their apps anyway now!
By the way, the apps that I cannot seem to buy are from "Elecont Software" - the particular app that I wanted to buy was "eRadar HD". I'll just look for alternatives now....

That's the same app I was trying to buy! Ended up buying it with real money anyways, and it's a great radar app.
Do you guys know where the dev lives by any chance? I was trying to buy an app from a guy in Barcelona, Spain and he was guessing it had something to do with Google not having all of their payment services up and running there. If he is correct then yes, it isGoogle problem that the devs can't fix.

Actually, I think I "mis-interpreted" the authors reply... After telling them politely that I think *they* should contact Google, they replied again stating that they have been trying to contact Google about this issue without any response and just figured that I, as a customer, may get a reply. Then, they even gave me their "main" app for free (gave me a redemption code to register it to the full version for free) in order to compensate me for my time in trying to get to the bottom of this issue. Their "main" app is titled "Eweather HD, Radar HD, Quakes" and actually costs $5.99! So, they made it worth it for me to contact Google!
So, I did just that - I've emailed Google support about the issue - I'll report my findings.

I would REALLY like to use it and in fact was looking forward to doing just that until I found out you can only use Mastercard with the stupid thing? I mean wtf, I don't want to have to use my MC to purchase crap, who does this, unless you're trying to get cash back or freq-flier miles? The pre-paid card from what I understand is bogus too? Why would I go to the trouble of funding a " virtual" credit card with money from my Mastercard so I can use my phone at McD's?
Now, if there was a way I could somehow fund all my purchases with my debt card? THATS what I was hoping to be able to do? I would think there'd be a way to do that but out of all I've read so far, nothing sounds promising? Does somebody know of a way around the Mastercard limitation?

Its not just ANY MC either.. it has to be theirs.. the Citi one.
and was really disapointed in the Loyalty card selection as well.. no grocery stores or drug stores or any other useful ones.
Yea I would have thought this would have really expanded fast, not at the snails-pace that it seems. I mean wallet has been around for a long time, at least a lot of my e-purchases are recognised as "wallet" transactions

Quit working for me. Set it up the other day and now it says this version is no longer supported and to update, yet there is no update.
I just had the update loop idk what I did but its working now got my free 10 im rooted and on a custom Rom

It may be because you are rooted? I get the same message.
I added $20 to the virtual card and look forward to trying it as soon is bearable to go outside!
If rooted this is what it will look like. This is normal, it will still work.

I used mine at McDonalds today, they were like "whoa, wtf? That's awesome!" They had never seen it before. Pretty simple though, once your card is setup, you wait till the point where you would swipe your card, tap the phone to the NFC reader, it'll prompt you for your pin, and then you tap it to the reader one more time, and voila!

I used it at 7-11 and the girl (young teen) couldnt stop cracking up! She had never seen it either lol
I had the update loop after installing an OTA update from sprint. I just cleared the app data and uninstalled updates for google wallet and it started working again.
Hopefully they will add more card options soon. If I could use my visa debt card it would be awesome but for now I don't see the point in transfering money to the google card just so I can use my phone to pay.
Anyone with ATT have it working? It says unsupported for me.

ATT here too, and nope, still not working ootb.
I'm in no rush, though, as there's still so very few places to use it (even in NYC), and I'm not about to putz around getting a rooted version working and risk getting it banned for life or whatever. This crap "should just work", but it doesn't.
(and I even have the damn citibank MC card that everyone complains you need to use, and I still don't care. (It was also lame that Citibank renamed their diamond preferred MC to the boring "ThankYou Points" Mastercard a few months back)

It's only a "flop" because the banks and carriers have all decided to create their own competing systems, not Google's fault they think we'll pay extra for NFC payments
When I bought Nexus 7 I followed this trick http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792592 to obtain 25$ free credit.
But now I have all prices in dollars and I want to remove my Google play balance, but when I try to go to wallet.google.com I have no way to remove google balance like other credit card, because there isn't the REMOVE button.
I can't change also my country and address if I don't delete my google balance.
Do you know if it's possible to delete it?

Having the exact same problem and it's driving me crazy. I just immigrated to Canada and my bank apps are country restricted, this is a huge pain. I have 28p which is difficult to spend...
I guess nobody found a solution to this? I have 22p left in my account but want to change it to US to sign up for all access...

I also had a N7 and did the US trick to get 25 dollars, but now I won 5 euros from kitkat and google doesnt give em to me. I have 75 cents left in my account, what can I do? Can't google support help us in any way? Because this is plain stupid..
This is kind of ridiculous... People need to be able to change their country if they move and what not. It is October 1st, yet the remaining .75 cent balance is still in my account! Sigh...

I believe one can contact the Wallet help online, or by phone, ask them to close the wallet account and then rejoin. All transaction history will be wiped out and no balance will appear. you will start from scratch again.

if u ever get ur identity stolen by them u could easily sue them..i dont think a multimillion dollar company would want to go bankrupt for committing frauds

It is essentially a "pretty wrapper" as the dev puts it for the facebook mobile site. Thanks for the post OP, I hadn't thought about what permissions the FB app was using with the latest update, I need to pay more attention.

Seriously, fair enough if you want to worry about this but I personally couldn't give a toss. I have an unlimited data plan so if it wants to turn my WiFi off (which it NEVER has) then go for it. If they want to read my SMS, go right ahead seeing I get about one a week!

I can say with 100% certainty that it has not sent an email to anyone from my address to date cause if it did I'd have a copy on my laptop when Outlook downloads my emails
It probably hasn't to anyone to be fair but why request those ridiculous permissions

The only way is not xprivacy...
Take care of your data and do not install crappy apps... If all users accept such behaviour, there won't be changes... You are responsible for your data....

I don't know and, to be honest, don't really care. My data is everywhere these days and unless it affects me monetarily I'm not concerned. If I was concerned I wouldn't have smartphone at all

I still see ads in Youtube while signed in with my All Access email. I am an existing All Access subscriber.
I canceled my all access. Waited for it to run out. Opened the app. Got 6 months free. That easy.
I asked them about this after I received my nexus 6 and they basically told me to pound sand. This is a mistake many companies make. While getting new subscribers is good, keeping your current userbase is also important. Giving current users stuff like this provides incentive for people to sign up, while simultaneously keeping the current userbase happy.
I had a free trial a few months ago so I wasn't eligible for the free 6 months. All I did was add a 2nd Google account to my phone and selected it in the Google Music app and bam free 6 months. Everything else on my phone is tied to my main Gmail except for Music. Works great.

Nope, it is for anyone who purchases a Nexus6. You should see it if you open up GoogleMusic from your phone.

I did this on accident. Had to change the CC on file, forgot to do it before Play Music expired, went to change it and was told I don't have to pay again until May 2015 :highfive:

I use google play music all the time. I don't have all access but I have 60gb legally purchased music saved to cloud. No message. Of course I go back and forth from having all access.
On a side note I never got an email from Google welcoming me to the nexus program. Like I did with NS, Gnex, N4, N5.

I think its only for the music channel thing that YouTube has now. it also let's videos play in background I believe.

Ive been a spotify subscriber since they launched in the state. I tried google play when they first launched and it was nowhere near being real competition to spotify... Now it has matured a bit, and I get 6 months free, I am giving it another shot.
Does anyone know of a way to get my spotify playlists transfered over?
Also... did they seriously not include the functionality of crossfading?!
I'm getting my Nexus 6 tomorrow. So should I seriously cancel my subscription today and try to use the promo tomorrow? Will that work?

Still nowhere near as good as Spotify, unfortunately. I want to get rid of Spotify because their customer support and neglecting everybody wanting them to support chromecast.
But I have now tried all access several times (about every 2 months) and I always have to come back to Spotify since it is just that much better service.

I think they pro rate it too. Because I had something similar happen to me. Had to change an expired card. And when it was renewed they only charged me $8.99 instead of the $10.

I have yet to try Spotify. I have been a user of GPAA since the beginning and i have never had reason to try anything else...what makes spotify > GPAA in your mind?

Ok guys trying to finish my order and I cannot place without my Moto Credit Number! Where can I find it? My moto credit page only shows my last 4 digits and not the whole number. Please tell me I don't have to wait until i receive it in mail in like 50 weeks!

When I had this problem originally in the moto x 2013 days, I registered for an online account and that is how I got mine. I think it was through comenity bank.

No, I created an online account at comenity bank. They are the bank that services the motorola credit cards (at least for me at that time). By doing that, I could then get my on-line statement that had my account # on it. Let me know if this make sense.
BTW - my credit card info is saved on my motorola account. I don't even need to enter it anymore.

It worked for me, because I already had a statement sent, but it was at home and I needed my #, so that is what I did. If you haven't gotten a statement yet, it might not worked for you, but you still could try. Verify that it's not saved in your motorola account though. Because mine has been saved there for awhile and I don't even need to know it anymore.

So I called and guy said they could send me an email with account number and info so I can order moto x. An hour later still nothing not impressed with the moto credit or system so far hope phone impresses if I can ever order one lol

Yeah I had one through my college email for free leather/wood back and now this morning it won't work. Motorola support told me it was a glitch and I shouldn't be allowed to use on moto x pure and I said but it worked last night. They said try again later and hung up. I'm so fed up with Motorola right now
I just ordered without wood back...that greeting though lol

The easy way to find your moto credit number is to download the pdf of your last statement and copy/paste the account number from the top of that. Useful only if you have prior purchases I guess...

yeah i just opened an account since i have so much other money out in other phones so no purchase and havent got anything in the mail yet from them
When I first opened my account it just automagically filled in I believe... But that was when I bought my 2013 X... Sorry man... I think they have a chat service online if that helps.

well funny thing is i called last night and they were closed so i sent them a message in the support center thingy asking for my full account number so i could make a purchase. no reply. so this morning I called and got a really nice guy and he said sure thing he would message it to me within 30 mins. well an hour and a half goes by but i got it. said they were overloaded etc etc with the pure coming out. anwyays got the account number and bought one later. then i got a message back from my message the night before saying there is no way to get your account number except on the paperwork in the mail LOL i was like wow the guy sent it to me hours ago hahaha but anyways got the bad boy ordered and cant wait to try it!
You have to sign in to the moto website, apply for credit, and then if approved it adds it to your payment info. If you don't login first it won't be easy
