[APP][v5.1] Multi-kernel, Multi-OS -Modded Tassadar's Multirom Manager - Optimus One, P500, V Themes and Apps

People like me find it really impossible to switch back from ics to gb permanently. And its also impossible for me to keep using ics, with poor video recording and playback, GPS wakelock bug, crappy game performance and buggy bluetooth. And you can't keep ics and gb side by side with the original multirom since they need to be compatible with the same kernel. But with this app, you can
What is Tassadar's Multirom? See website and original thread
Features:
Apart from the existing features which were there in the original app, this has:
ROM switching:
This app changes kernels by creating boot.img backups and flashing them. Flashing hardly takes a second in gingerbread. In ics and higher, it may take a bit longer.
ROM zip modder (to flash directly sd-ext):
You can use this app to modify your ROM zip to flash directly to sdext. You can flash it with any recovery. The modified rom zip will have multirom embedded in its boot image. So, no need to flash multirom after installing every rom.
This method is experimental.
A few points worth noting here:
-- Modded zip names will have the prefix "mrom-".
-- The boot image (with multirom in it) of the last modded zip is stored at /sdcard/multirom/tmp_boot.img. You can simply rename it with any file manager.

Version history:
v1
Added boot.img backup / restore. (Backups are stored in /sdcard/multirom/)
Asks for default boot location after you flash.
Added back and reboot buttons in Updater, so that you can reboot right after flashing.
Enabled ICS theme and made some layout changes to suit with it.
v2
Now its possible to select a backup ROM as default after restoring boot image. (For those who keep 3 or mopre ROMS).
Fixed Czech translation
Fixed a minor bug which was there in the original app; it displayed "Multirom folder not found" instead of "No backups found"
v3
lots of bugs were introduced in the last version. Choosing backups should work correctly now.
v4
Now you can flash a rom to sdcard directly FROM ANY RECOVERY.
When modding your ROM zip, a preview of the updater script will be shown. You can edit it, if needed.
It is recommended to keep a copy of multirom.zip on sdcard. If you choose to download it from internet, it will be saved at /sdcard/multirom/multirom.zip.
You can now erase your default rom (on sdcard of course) directly from this app before flashing a new one. Go to "manage ROMs".
Also shows the size of your default ROM.
bug fixes.
v4.2
Script will mount sd-ext automatically before flashing in recovery.
if /sdcard/multirom/multirom.zip is found, it will use that for preparing zips.
v5.1
fixed "Cant move active ROM to backup!"
fixed absurd behavior and FCs during zip modding, which would happen if you cancel the process and try again.
shows detailed progress during zip modding.

How to install a new ROM in sd card
Just use the app to mod a ROM zip and flash the modded zip in recovery.
Simplified instructions for first time users
I have tested this method with cm9(arjen's nightlies) , cm10(rasheed's rom) , cm7(gingerblur) and stock roms(dynamite and resurrection).
Long method (only if the above process fails with certain ROMs):
Its somewhat similar to the original process here.
- If you haven't, perform up to step 2 of the original guide.
- Make nandroid backup (ur gonna need this). Wipe. flash ROM which you wanna to have on SDcard.
- Flash multirom.zip, even if you did earlier ( because everything gets wiped after flashing the ROM ). Get multirom.zip from http://tasssadar.github.com/multirom
- Backup ROM's boot.img with recovery (preferably AmonRA, because it lets u do selective backup). you need to copy the file to /sdcard/multirom/ later.
- Go to "MultiROM options" menu and select "Create from current ROM".
- Restore nandroid backup from beginning of this step and reboot.
How to switch ROMs:
1. (Only if you haven't done this before) Backup boot.img of current ROM
2.
Warning: To backup/restore a boot image, you need at least 160 MB of free RAM. This is not a big deal in gb (where u have 300+ MB of RAM). But in ics, you may need to free up RAM using a taskkiller. A bad flash will make your device unbootable. (you will still be able to boot in recovery though)

Yeah it does that if you don't let it rest for the whole 10 to 15 min. Some devices might react different. Maybe needing a longer cool off period. I am running this along with everyone that does so I can try to duplicate issues as they come in if any and try to resolve them.
Edit : Updated OP
Yea I let it sit a little longer and it works fine now,the play store that is. It has started to lag in chrome a lot can't figure that one out.

lag might have to do with files left in the init.d folder...if you aren't using supercharger, I suggest removing files from the folder and rebooting.

Like all the ICS Builds for the Gtab we are using the Kernel off of Team DRH's build made by fosser2 and others. Once they get the kernel perfected there will be no Camera. This has Kernel base 1.3 I took the build with 1.3.2 off line. To the Sleep of Death issue Yes there is always that chance of it happening. Just beware of what you are doing and also word of advise change your display sleep setting to max.

Is this speedier than G Harmony? I love it, with the exception of Email Speed and some internet Lag.
OK, I will be the guy to ask...If already on the latest G-harmony ICS, would a cache and Dalvik flush be enough when flashing this?

JetMOD 3.2 is pre supercharged.
And I can see difference with multitasking, and using phone when it gets less free memory.
I know, but it doesnt have some tweaks from adrealine. For ex SuperScript is smaller than this from adrealine.

generally speaking I'm not lazy and I'm not going to blindly install a script that was designed for some other device; when I was asking my question, there was nothing to download, as it the file was empty; now "download" links to series of scripts designed for galaxy ace s5830. I'm not an expert but let's point out:
- minfree values are designed for a device having 278MB of ram; other part of ram_optimize script tries to mount a swap partition - what for?
- net_buffer, zipalign, sqlite_optimize and mounting ext4 will probably succeed on our devices. but zipalign, net tweaks and sqlite optimizations are included in v6 supercharger, too
- s98_systemtweak has some hardcoded partition names for s5830, I'm not quite sure what it does for us
- it has two modules surely compiled for other device - how are they supposed to work? (it'd be good if they don't make any damage)
so, my point is not to install everything that people deliver unless you want to end up with a brick as your best xmas present ever
I wasn't enthusiastic from the start as I already tested numerous roms on some other devices (mainly s5830 - so I know where adrenaline engine comes from), so I've built my own opinion telling v6 supercharger is the most universal and non-harming script I've ever used
---------
found in the thread that download links were copied from: read carefully under "supported devices"..

Regarding TWRP backup i have issue :
1) 1st Backup file is Jetmod 3.1 but just little apps backup file not more than 1GB - Restore using TWRP showing "Restore success" is OK
2) 2nd Backup file also Jetmod 3.1 but alot apps(almost alot big games) backup file size bigger about 1.6GB - Restore using TWRP but no showing success it's turn back to TWRP logo main screen & i reboot it almost all my games apps Gone !!
why like this ?? I don't think this ROM problem may be is TWRP can't restore back too big file(more than 1GB) or other problem ?

Non of my backup of JetMOD was not bigger than 400MB. Only Stock was around 500, and the first one with lot apps was 1.2GB.
I did a lot of backup/restore (more than 30 for sure) when I tested stuff for Varun, and I didn't have any problem.
Do you check all? System, Data, Boot? (I think boot is not necessary, but I do that too). And I combress it (Enable Compression).

Hello,
Wish you and your family a very Happy New Year!
You may know that I have already published ElegantPerformer on Xda. You can check it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709879.
Now I am going to introduce it's 2nd version. In looks, both are identical but you can feel the difference while handling. I have used a lot of ROMs from here and I really loved each of them, but mostly I found my phone buggy after using them for more than a week. I actually stopped working on ROM due to my exams but I have to make one for myself. Which must be stable, fast without OC, smooth like butter and beautiful. So I am introducing another version of my work ElegantPerformer V2 by Adwait.
================================================================================================
Screenshots:
Battery stats after 9 hours of use. Sorry for night mode Screenshot Will upload again after sometime.

-CM team
-dragonnn for his awesome fire Kernel

-Lovetz for Beats audio engine + Alsa + AudioFXwidget
And all of those who are directly or indirectly contributed to this ROM. Please forgive me if I missed anyone.
================================================================================================

Few words from me:
I tried my best to keep the ROM away from bugs. Only one thing you may need to do is updating superuser binary. It will update by itself, just allow it to do so.I hope you like this ROM. Those who are already satisfied with your current ROM, just make a backup of the current ROM and then TRY this ROM. I am sure you will love this! Let me know if you find any trouble using it. If you like this ROM just press "Thanks" this will tell me how many of you loved this ROM.
You can also make this banner as your Signature. Here is the code:

Dude, when you release a different version of the SAME rom it HAS TO BE ON THE SAME THREAD.
Otherwise the Ace Development Forums would be filled with a trillion different threads.

Hey dude, It's look wise same But if the main source is itself changed then I think starting new thread is best choice. I know the rules but my 1st version was based on vo-1's odexed and this one is based on CM7.2's original nightly published on 1/1/2013. So I have to make a new thread! And I think I should! what say?
Edit: And also the Fire Kernel used in this ROM is OC. In v1 it was not an OC.
Did ur rom supports Tamil language? This version is deodexed?

Nope.
It should still be an update to the other thread.
As long as your rom has the same name you cant create a new thread. Be it a change in kernel or base rom itself

Yes! but it will be a partial support. It will not render font 100% but it can be read.

no! I don't think so!
Any reason you didn't include AdrenalineEngine ?
However, I'm going to test your rom for the next few days.
Thanks

Is that mandatory? I never used it. And to keep this ROM lightweight I have to skip additions which can be added later. I am glad you would like to try this ROM. I will wait to get feedback from your side!
Regards,
Adwait
Of course you don't HAVE to use AdrenalineEngine, I just never had the feeling that it would do any damage to integrate it
1) On first boot I could not enter my PIN, all I could do was take out the battery and restart.
2) With every restart I get an error-message, something about bluetooth (I don't know if this important, I don't think it has any effect on the rest of the phone)
3) Whenever I want to go into the synchronisation-settings (I hope thats what its called in english) the phone reboots. (I think this might be a CM 7.2 Nightly error, and not your fault )
For now I have the feeling that it runs very smooth, and I like the way it looks.
Will test it for a few more days and maybe stick to it

Hello,
Did you cleared cache, dlavik cache 1st? After your reply I am going to test my ROM again but the errors you mentioned are completly new! They shouldn't be there. And I flashed my ROM almost 6 times during testing. So please make sure you have CWM5 or more, all data wiped, cache wiped, dalvik cache wiped!
Edit:
I just successfully flashed ROM. No error message about Bluetooth or anything found! Safely navigated through each part of settings without any reboot. USB tethering also works fine!
So I strongly recommend you to follow these steps:
Boot in recovery CWM 5
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Advanced>>Wipe dalvik cache
Choose 'Install zip from sd card'
Choose the file 'ElegantPerformer_V2_By_Adwait.zip '
Of course, CWM5 and did exactly as you said in your first post. Never had these problems before, but since your ROM is based on such a new version of CM7, I think it might be because of that. But I don't know, I'm not a developer or anything

Hi thanks for the ROM it looks nice may I ask you if theres any chance of you making another version with PSN's Memory MOD..? I find it much more stable and better than using S2E or link2SD or almost anything else.. Thanks in advance.

[FAQ] Official FAQ Thread of GingerDX

Finally, I’m proud to present:

Important:
Before you post a “bug”, do a Factory reset!!! It’ll solve most issues.
Before you ask something, read the whole Thread!!!
Don’t even think about pm’ing Team Fun or me because of your Problems
Why are there two versions of GingerDX?
One version is for stock kernel, the other one for custom kernels
Which one should I use?
Well, it’s pure logic If you are on stock kernel, flash the stock version, if you are on a custom kernel, use the custom version.
I’m stuck in a bootloop! What shall I do now?
Keep calm. Enter CWM and restore a Backup or reflash the ROM again.
If you can’t enter CWM, reflash using Flashtool or SEUS.
I’m still stuck!
Did you flashed the right version? Stock version on stock kernel and custom version on custom kernel…
Why is my Wifi not working?
Have you flashed the right kernel?
Try to forget Networks
Still not working? --> Full Wipe
My Phone crashes when trying to sign into google…
Have you flashed GAPPS?
Have you flashed the libsensor patch (when on alfs)?
Did you do a Full Wipe?
How can i mount my sdcard to PC? There is no button...
Just tap the Android
Can I update busybox on stock?
No. It’ll brick your Device
What is ADB/USB-Debugging?
If you don’t know what it is, you don’t need it
ADB (or Android Debug Bridge) allows you to communicate between your computer and your phone (for example to get logcats)
How do I get a logcat?
If you need to ask, that’s the right link for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1944776
What is GalleryDX
It’s a modded version of QuickPic
And how do I get rid of it?
Delete /system/app/GalleryDX.apk and /system/lib/qpicjni100.so
Why is my wifi not working?
On custom kernel:
Have you flashed the right kernel?
--> GDX v28 and earlier: LinuxDX or Alfs v08a GDX/Alfs v09c WLAN
--> GDX v29 and later: nAa 14 or Alfs v08a CM7/Alfs v09c CM7
Why is the Auto-Brightness not working?
If you’re on Alfs kernel, have you flashed the libsensor Patch?
Why does my LED not blink like it should?
Just delete the file "/system/lib/hw/lights.shakira.so" and reboot.
Now it should work correctly.
Shall I use Supercharger?
You can, but it’s not recommended. The ROM is already tweaked, to get the best overall performance. If you use it, it’s your own responsibility and do NOT post some “bugs” which only you have got, because of using supercharger
Will the app “xxx” be included in the next version?
To make you happy: maybe…
To be realistic: the probability it pretty low
How can I delete system apps?
You can delete system apps by using a root explorer to delete the desired app from /system/apps/
But BE CAREFUL what you delete! Delete on your own risk!
What’s KSM?
You can read the exact explanation here
Or in short: it gives a performance boost (because it makes processes share the “same pages” with other processes --> less CPU calculation) and reduces the RAM consumption (--> pages are shared, no multiple copies)
If you’ve got some questions to add to this list, just post a comment or send me a pm!
Thanks for your support and keeping the Thread clean!
Good:good: but there is already a similar thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409113
Have you contact eagleeyetom?
I'm reading the word "official" so I guess you have, you could have taken the other thread and update it as Lucas is not that active here anymore and he have gave permissions for his threads.
There is no reason for two FAQ threads about gingerdx. So maybe mods should close the other one. Just saying its obviously up to mods.
And as a suggestion, you can add some links in order to make your thread more newbie friendly ,for example you can put a link for a more detailed unbricking guide.

Well guys.. I had decided. I am leaving XDA guys.. I am sorry. It's been so nice having you guys around. Well as many of you already know, I am using the iPhone 4 now and I rarely ever gets the time to log in to XDA and Tapatalk actually cost $2.99 on iOS. Soo yeah I am leaving and I guess sooner or later I would lose my RC status too. And all of my threads? You can inform a moderator or something if you want to help me continue updating all my nice threads if you want. You have my permisssion. For now I wont be online anymore though I might log in in a while.. Until the day I actually get a new Android phone then I will come back. Thanks guys for all of your support this year I really really did appreciated it.. However guys I am still keeping my faithful W8, still using it once in a while to read e-books and use my favorite Cyanogenmod app DSP Manager. Well that's it then... May we meet again soon.

thanks for the tip...but unluckly wifi setting isn't correlated to hotspot settings in locked status (standby). I found other users had same problems with other roms and phones, the solution they found is this app that allow to use cpu and wifi also when phone is in standby (locked)
Wakelock:

i have encountered this problem only on ginger dx v30, and i have reinstall this rom twice
when i wake the device up, somehow the lockscreen widget is not visible, but it is there, i can unlock it due to the vibration that i felt... and sometimes, when i try to either reboot or power off the device, pressing the power button, but no menu is visible, but i know its there, because i tap randomly on screen, and then another menu to choose either reboot or reboot the recovery pop out. im using this on alfsv09c and i have install this correctly, anyone knows why this happen?

Wanted to ask a few questions.
1. Does this Mem Mod Kernel degrade my Sd-Card(class-4). Coz a similar kernel is used in The Ultimatum and its specified to use Class-6 or above.
2. Is this exactly the same kernel usd in The Ultimatum?
3. What does the icon to the left of signal bar indicate? Neva seen this before...
4. Viper4Android is asking for some strange settings. Can you pls suggest the zettings to be used?

just remove battery and put it back in, it should start normally, I had the same issue (same with The Ultimatum rom)
My impressions are good, rom si really fast, maybe even faster than The Ultimatum (slightly more fluid?) but I really dont like the lockscreen theme and wifi, gsm signal, battery icons, notification bar blue color theme... Had force close loop when tried to unistall smart launcher via titanium backup, rebooted into recovery and restored The Ultimatum 3.0 backup I made earlier (with timescape interface, I find it most beautifull) whit which I was already very happy, so I'll stick with it, and wait for an update that will maybe make The Ultimatum even better
there's no need to install link2sd with this rom, right?

Bro, That will only happen if there is an issue with your Ext4 partition, period...
Check Your SD partition & read the thread again for full requirements...
