Flash with samsung software
First of all you do not need do unzip the file you have downloaded.
Get Samsung Kies at this address, then put your phone into download mode and connect. And follow the screen.
samsung.com/us/kies
Note to enter into download mode:
- Put the phone OFF
- Hold Power+Volume_Down+Home together
- Connect USB Cable
On the other hand you can find the tutorial about the software named ODIN. That could also help. Do this only if you don't have any other way.

Having problems with flashing GINGERBREAD??

Here is the 100% working method. No chance to fail. Unless you make a mistake somewhere.
Download Stock ROM from below link. (thanks to Chainfire)
With bootloaders: http://www.multiupload.com/IZLCKQ3VJC
Extract the zip file to a folder. There after extract the .tar file to a folder.
Open Heimdall (you should know the drill how it works) place the files from extracted folder in respective fields .
At the place of modem, do not use the one from extracted folder. Use the link below for JPZ modem
http://www.multiupload.com/F9Z64KG9XO
unzip the file and extract modem.bin, copy in phone.
Now hit START.
After completion, reboot & immediately go to ODIN 3.1.7 download mode Oops! that’s how I worked (Heimdall & then odin ). Flash dbdata.tar as PDA (NO repartition) found in the below link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073854
Reboot and relax a little. As you over worked
It will boot to Ginger 2.3.3
Still you cannot flash custom ROM’s for that you got to reboot in Odin one’s again.
Kernel for clockwork recovery (custom ROM flashable) (thanks to Chainfire)

download the last file from the list. i.e.
CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.zip
Put in PDA and start. It will reboot and there you are ready with your flashable Gingerbread SGT.
For OVERCOME ROM 2.0 beta (Thanks to Sir Alterbridge) download the below file
http://www.multiupload.com/QW65A4Q794
copy the zip to internal SD
go to recovery, choose zip from internal SD …. Flash!
I’m waiting for BoyPPC ROM as he might probably come out with the MIUI Rom. As Mr. Alterbridge is not into eye candy stuff his work is too serious.
Is this for all verions of the SGT? IE sprint/verizon/gsm?
Odin works for me for all flash, i.e. Main rom and dbdata

Would be better to title the topic better. If you was browsing teh list it would look like you was asking for help in flashing. It would be much better to make title more descriptive and tag it with [GUIDE] and take away the "??" from the end.
Probably best tu number or bullet point, make paragraphs to separate steps etc, would give it more structure.
btw, you do know that the overcome rom that is linked to in this guide comes with a very complete and precise guide to follow itself anyway?

there was much more then just backup like rooting and stuff. i believe people who jump to ginger all ready went through all that process. i think Appbackup is working like charm plus you can save the apk's and flash to any device. or may be titanium is better not much into it though.
Ganjdroid, i was going through your Miui post. it's not that simple to get them working you know? i wish if some one can incorporate those files in a ROM and make it as a ready made dish Ginger without MIUI is like nothing but Froyo.
Sorry but there just isnt any need for this guide really. The overcome one isnt complicated at all and you can just skip past backup up upps section if you need to.
Plus you have no need to use heimdall and then Odin, you can just use Odin.
You also say to use a specific modem file but dont explain what version of tab that file is for, somebody may be using this "guide" that doesnt want/need that file.
If you want to successfully and accurately flash to GB stock or Overcom custom you should follow the proper guide in the Overcome thread.

The reason behind this post was, i shared what iv'e experienced and there are many who could not successfully port through Odin even i faced a problem with one of the tab. i feel Heimdall for flashing Stock ROM's is more friendly then Odin.

well, i use heimdall only for stock ROM's for rest i mean for Custom Rom's they made Clockwork.
partition check and un check play's important role also. people just ignore it sometimes while flashing Kernel's with Odin.

Hi,

Many thanks

No screen after firmware flash with odin

hey,
i've updatet my note with odin 1.85 and the firmware "N7000XXKK9_N7000OXAKK9_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar.md5".
My problem is that my note has no screen any more. I hear the sound im able to unlock my screen (without seeing it) but there are only the sounds of my note. I've flashed a second time (not easy to get to the note to the download mode without seeing anything.
So what can I do now?
My note was rooted first also by using odin and the CF-Root-SGN_XX_DBT_KK9-v5.0-CWM5.zip
have you any idea what I could try now?
greetings flo
From your description, you did everything right. But you may get a corrupted file. Download the same file again from the below source. (You will lose your root access, but I'm sure you won't mind re-root it later).
Here are the steps I did to make my Galaxy Note GT-N7000 work after a scary day:
I found a place to download firmware at:http://fus.nanzen.se/
just in case you can't see the link: h**p://fus(dot)nanzen(dot)se/
(from Hoffighter's posting) http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1350960
I downloaded Fus Check Downloader 2.1 and downloaded Firmware N7000XXKK9 (for Germany). It will automatically decode the .enc2 file to.zip file
I extracted the .zip file generated from decoding file to a folder and I got
"N7000XXKK9_N7000OXAKK9_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar.md 5" file.
I downloaded Odin3 1.85 (search "odin3 1.85" in XDA Dev forum)
opened Odin3 1.85, attach the file .md5 to the PDA field on Odin.
I went to download mode on mt G-Note (Power + home + Volume down)
and click start. It took about 6 to 7 minutes to do the flashing.
Just remember to put the .tar or .md5 file in PDA only..
my display is back

Thanks for your post I tried it 3 times but it won't work. The screen was still black.
now what I did:
I downloaded the files from here: http://www.samsdroid.com/2011/11/samsung-galaxy-note-n7000-flashing.html
I did it like they subscribe step by step
** Open Odin3 v1.85 software
** Check Re-Partition, Auto Reboot, and F. Reset Time options.
** Check and select .pit file ( looks like Q1_20110914_16GB.pit )
** Check and select PDA file ( Looks like CODE_N7000xxxxx_CL627135_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5 )
** Check and select Phone file ( Looks like MODEM_N7000xxxxx_REV_05_CL1067428.tar.md5 )
** Check and select CSC file ( looks like GT-N7000-MULTI-CSC-Oxxxxx.tar.md5 )
after the first reboot my display shows an error by receiving the tar files.
I did the same procedure a second time and my sgn retourned with Kernel 2.3.5.
Im happy now that my sgn is back!
thanks a lot

[GUIDE] Turn your SHW-M250S/K into a GT-I9100

Warning: You will lose the ability to watch DMB-T TV.
There are 2 ways to do that:
1. Flash a fw tarball via Odin
2. Use heimdall to flash the new fw
Now you have 2 options:
1. Repartition to I9100 partition layout
2. Keep your existing partition layout
If you plan to flash again soon a Korean rom, I suggest you go with 2, otherwise 1.
If you choose 2 the steps are really simple:
1. Make an efs backup
2. Repeat 1
3. Reboot into Download mode
4. Fire up Odin or heimdall and flash the fw as pda
5. When it fails during factoryfs flash simply remove the battery and reboot again into download mode
6. Flash the kernel now only
7. Reboot
8. Enjoy
If you choose option 1(which I think is the best) you will first have to uninstall Kies.
1. Reboot into download mode
2. Using heimdall go to utilities tab and where it says "download pit file" select a location to save it (i name it M250S.pit) and download it to your pc(not mac, we hate macs)
3. Reboot into download mode again.
4. Now using either Odin or heimdall flash the fw and select as pit the I9100 ext4 pit from 26 October 2011(on mobile currently so can't post the exact name)
In Odin tick also Repartition.
5. The flash will succeed with no errors whatsoever
6. Keep the M250S.pit in a safe.
If you want to go back to Korean simply repeat and substitute I9100.pit with M250S.pit
Done.

good post, thanks for sharing.
I owned a M250K and flash it to I9100 for a long time, I didn't repartition and didn't see any inconvenience with it. So could you tell me why you suggest repartition?
Another thing missing is M250S/K has NFC chip inside, flash to I9100 generally lose this capacity, but thanks to XDA guys, currently you can readd this feature in I9100, please refer to below link,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24439878&postcount=102
Reason I recommend I9100 Repartition is that when you flash a fw it won't error and will apply csc correctly and flash hidden partition. If you choose this way you can even receive ota and update via Kies to latest I9100 fw. Thanks for the nfc link, forgot about it even though I use it
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Thanks...Do I need to root my m250 before flash into i9100?
Im going for your recommendation option 1
1. Reboot into download mode
2. Using heimdall go to utilities tab and where it says "download pit file" select a location to save it (i name it M250S.pit) and download it to your pc(not mac, we hate macs) <--this step is for saving M250 partition for future use if flash back to Korean ROM?
3. Reboot into download mode again.
4. Now using either Odin or heimdall flash the fw and select as pit the I9100 ext4 pit from 26 October 2011(on mobile currently so can't post the exact name)
In Odin tick also Repartition.
No you don't need to do that. And yes you assumed correctly

nice guide!

Hi - Sorry - dreaded noob here.
My brother in law has handed me a SHW-M250S phone that work here in my country - New Zealand - he bought it in Korea.
I saw this thread and it makes sense to 'convert' it to a GT-I9100 - at least some chance of it working I guess.
I have downloaded heimdall and installed the driver and downloaded the pit file.
So now all I need to do is get a heimdall firmware package for a galaxy S2 - right?
I have searched all over the internet and cant find any heimdall packages for an S2.
I tried a 'stock' I9100XWLP7_I9100XXLPS_I9100XEULP5_HOME.tar.md5 file from samsung-updates.com - thought that would be a place to start.
I chose the 'new' pit file that is mentioned in the this thread - I can detect the device withthe heimdall front end. The phone is def in download mode.
So if I chose the above file it unpacks it then complains it cant find the firmware.xml file.
So either I have to work out how to make my own package or find some already done. So I guess the question still is... Is theer a site I download packages for an S2 from?
Cheers
Unpack the tar and manually select each partition
eg KERNEL - zImage

1. Try updating though OTA.
2. If that doesn't work, search for your phone over at SamMobile.com and download the appropriate firmware, then flash through odin.
3. If that still doesn't work, ask for a system image fron people with the exact same phone.

here is the update.zip JellyBeam 4.1.2 i437UCCMB3 for Samsung Galaxy Express i437
https://hotfile.com/dl/204284141/36ba13f/2400258.cfg.html
Rename it to update.zip and save to sdcard and enter recovery mode UP + Home + Power
then just apply the update from sdcard
The phone must be unmodified i mean no CWM and no ROOT*. If it doesnt work try to flash the cellphone with the stock rom
http://hotfile.com/dl/204763916/e45faeb/I437UCALI6_ATTALI6_ATT_USA_ATT_Android_4.0.4.zip.html
and then just update
The links for it are down.
Does anyone have any new links?
Please beware that this file is meant for model SGH-i437. I don't think it will work on I437P variant or I437Z variant...
Here's the new link,
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1_4qtY7UWjpcFNIZE1yTTFRVzA
To install follow these steps:
1. download the file
2. place file in root of external sd card
3. power off phone
4. go into recovery by pressing: power button+volume down+home button
5. look for something that says: install update from zip or from external storage or something along those lines
6. click on the file downloaded from the link above.
7. select install
8. select "yes-install)
9. after instalation is completed the phone will go back to the way it looked when you first got it and powered it on
Thanks to Herson for getting me this file!

So my question is how to flash stock ROM (as the zipped contains only one file in *tar.md5 format) using ODIN.
I tried to flash but the galaxy y duos logo appeared continuously.I also tried to go to recovery mode (after flashing) but was unsuccessful.
Our phones don't support single file firmware package flashing via odin
you need to split the firmware into its separate parts using the splitter here

Alternatively just downloaded one of these firmwares odin ready for duos from this thread
