[Q] Galaxy s4 GT-i9505

Hi Guys Hope you can rescue me. I had an automatic firmware update pending on my phone this morning so I ran it. It all seemed to go fine and it rebooted but I initially noticed that some desktop icons were missing. Then I noticed that you could not turn on wifi. I tried both from drop down and in settings but it would revert back to off each time. I googled it and found a few others had the problem and it was suggested that a hard reset may fix it. I did that but no joy.
Next step was to download odin 3.09 and a stock rom. This I did, the stock rom was a uko2 rom from here...hxxp://samsung-updates.com/latest-firmware/ I followed the tutorial to flash the rom and I get this (auth) Fail. here is a copy of the odin log...

If the OTA update received was android 4.4.2, maybe u updated your bootloader and you cant come back to android 4.3. You will have to flash through ODIN this firmware: HERE

I'm not sure but maybe the custom rom has changed the partition structure?
If so you need the PIT file to flash with the stock firmware.

[Q] Soft Brick G900V

After owning the phone for a grand total of five minutes I managed to go past go and straight to a soft brick after a root-gone-wrong.
Out of the box it was running 4.4.4, but I don't know which of the three Verizon firmwares it was. I've attempted using Odin to flash stock using all three of them and I can't get Odin to play nicely.
The latest/greatest attempt was to flash \G900VVRU1ANK2_G900VVZW1ANK2_G900VVRU1ANK2_HOME.tar.md5. I'm getting the following Odin output:

I'm getting the same output regardless of which stock I'm trying to flash.
May I trouble you guys for some help?
... not that I expected it to work, but I tried the Verizon recovery software in a Windows VM. It seems great up until it hangs at 83% (repeatedly) before telling me the device has been disconnected. If anyone wants to try that rabbit hole, I'll get the precise error verbiage.
Selfish <bump>
