Cyanogen mod 10. Really great. Still ironing out a few little issues but I am using this as my daily driver.

So my last thread got locked for people bashing the moderators. I have all the files that livewings put up before he got banned if anybody wants to continue developing on this. Myself as well as many others on this forum would love to see this keep progressing. So please don't start bashing the mods over this and let's come up with a plan to get this back on track.

Ya...let's continue with the awesome ROM

Or maybe bring back the thread that was deleted if that is possible.

It is really said that something like that happened.
But for now we have to save what we can because this build was really nice.
I am truly sorry for livewings. I hope that this issue will solved somehow satisfactory for everybody involved.
Ehh any update? What is your Twitter??? We follow you xD

The decision has been made, the other thread was closed, do not reopen another one. If you proceed with further development work on the ROM, make sure this subject isn't discussed in that thread or it, too, will be closed.

Best ROM for nexus 7

Hey guys I'm getting a nexus 7 soon and been looking around for the best ROM, I would also like to be able to charge and have a flash drive plugged in at the same time. I heard team EOS has a ROM for it but I just dont know where to start, so I figured I would ask the xda community for some help.
Thanks guys

These 'best ROM' threads get closed/deleted pretty quick because no one can tell you which ROM is best for you and how you use your device. The only way to find out is to read up on any ROM your interested in using in the Dev forum and then install the one that fits your needs best. If it doesn't, repeat the process until you find one that does.

Which ROM should I choose?

I've recently bought my Nexus 7 32GB Wifi, and I'm kinda flashaholic... And since I'm new to this device, I don't really know which ROMs are the best... As I've seen, most of the ROM OPs do not post ROM-bugs, which I find pretty frustrating, so I'll give you guys a list over things I'm looking for (I think you know more great ROMs than me, since I've just had my Nexus for 4 days!).
I like the stock ROM very much because of its stability, but I miss some customizations!
Okay, here's the list over what I'm looking for:
-A very stable and bugless (almost) ROM!
-A well-featured ROM with many customizations...
-A fast and powerfull ROM which don't shorten my tablets lifetime! (I'm thinking of no under/overvoltage, etc...
-And ofc... Android 4.2.1+
-The ability to place any widget on the lockscreen!
-Good battery-life!
Don't hate me if I want too much...
Thanks!

Which food should you like? What color should be your favorite? Like the subject matter of your post, no one can, or should, answer these questions but you. Test drive some and see what YOU like best... see what performs best on your unique hardware.
Oh, and IBTL.

I totally agree to the above opinion. To select your ROM, the following thread may help you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36018963
If this is your 1st time to flash a custom ROM, i recommend CyanogenMod or AOKP. If you're looking for ROMs for tablet UI, please try ParanoidAndroid or SGT7.
Anyway ,try many ROMs to find out your favorite. enjoy
Seriously? If you scroll down just a little, you will see 1000 people who asked the same question. Read those. People starting new threads to ask this exact question twice every day insane, and has to be bad for server space. The devs take alot of time to write out exactly what their rom offers, bugs, pros and cons so you can be educated. To not read them and take the lazy route and srart a new thread is disrespectful to their efforts. Sorry, but after seeing this same thing so many times, it gets rediculous.

I was actually asking for your opinion, not hate because I'm curious! And I've never seem to find a good ROM with looking in other threads made by people with other needs!
And, no! This is not the first time I've flashed a ROM!

The issue is that thread such this are tiredly pointless. No one but you can answer your question. The only rom that you should choose is the one that you try for yourself and; ends up being what you like. No one is clairvoyant enough to predict what will give you the feature set you'll be happiest with or how a given rom will perform on your unique hardware.
The mods invariably lock these threads a soon as they catch wind of them for this very reason. I imagine the only reason it survived as long as it has is only because it hasn't popped up on their radar yet.
Rather than wasting your time and energy asking what you should choose, go to the Dev forum, read up on some of the offerings available, and then test drive the ones that pique your interest until you find the one that satisfies you.
No hate- just sound, practical advice.

One suggestion is to post in the right thread. Another is to back up a flash a few. (Y)

Yes, I have a good suggestion, place your question in Q&A! This is the wrong place.
Dang, people are brutal in here. I would try the cm10.1 nightlies. Just download goo manager from the market and browse ROMs, look for dev "cm" and get the latest nightlies and gapps. That way you can get the nightlies easier and flash every day if you like flame on!

They are not brutal. This section is for development. Q&A is the correct section for questions. Do you really want to wade through 500 question threads while lookimg for a rom? No, you dont. Ergo, the Q&A section. It is there for a very practical reason.

If you are on a pc, just click report. I cant, due to being on the mobile app. Either way, the next mod will either close or move the topic to the correct section. On the bad side of that, i fear he will be treated impatiently there as well. Hks very question is asked alot, and usually gets the same answer. "Flash some and try them". The reason is nobody can really tell you which rom is best for you. Everybody has different wants and needs from thier device/rom/kernel combo. It is a trial and error thing. Multirom can be used effectively to test perspective roms, while still keeping your original one till you find a suitable replacement.

Thread moved.
In future please keep all questions to Q&A, the development forum is for development threads only.
Thank you
My mistake... That said how about blocking these jerks who feel their "I'm cooler than you" comments that serve no use other than to inflame the issue. Not to mention attempt to show all of us how on top of life they are? I made a mistake and posted where I should not have. And I get how that causes issues. I do no come to these sites to be addressed as if I am subhuman. Again, Mr Moderator, my apologies. I apologize for turning this morons world inside out. Maybe we should take guns away from everyone...

As always, you know how XDA feels about "Best Rom" threads. Read and choose some that you think suits you.
If "One" would use the "SEARCH" button, they would see that there is an "OFFICIAL" thread just for this.

What is, in your opinion, the best custom rom out there?

It's simply an opinion thread, opinions are very welcome! Explain why you like the rom so much and what makes it different from the others, in your experience.
Edit: To those who think this question is too sensitive and might ignite some heated discussion, so be it! Nothing is wrong with comparing roms and experiences, and it's great to highlight the good and bad of each rom in the way each person sees it. This is why diversity is great. Again, if you're not comfortable with this, you're welcome to not click on this thread, you're not the only one in this forum!
I say either carbon or liquidsmooth. ..?

One rom is not better than the other..period. all of the roms have their own unique feature and look. Its all on what a user prefers. Actually, its not wise to ask whats the best. That does nothing but start a war.

It's an opinion thread and just as your opinion is welcome, you're off topic (you're trying to troll this thread). The thread is in the right section, very legitimate question and you have the right to not participate if you think it will hurt you.

Actually mods typically close every one of these threads for the exact reason stated above "no ROM is better than another" or "its rude to devs to say one is better than another"
