I just thought id spread the word of Team Legacy:

Now recruiting everyone, and i mean everyone from devs, themers, rom porters, testers, everyday users, everyone that loves their old phone and wants to see the development live on.
The only requirement is to work toward the common goal of seeing our old HTC devices live on.
Team Legacy: Greasing the Wheels for HTC Android Legacy Devices.
We may not have the newest, spankiest devices, but by god we just wont quit.
If anyone can think up a logo or a new motto, please do.
Between the eris, the hero, and the heroc, we are all in this together.

Anyone in?

Thanks, whoshotjr2006 is in the process of creating an AOKP rom which boots on the hero gsm, hero cdma and the eris, but we are looking to expand to the g1 and wildfire, we just need testers in order to make sure the roms we are trying to port actually does boot on the other devices
I'll send you a pm of the AOKP port, or even paranoid android if thats what you prefer, and you feedback, logcat bootloops etc.
Thanks

Team legacy is looking to support your device, its just that you have low rom memory so our roms will hav to be slimmed down significantly, or you may need to use firerats custom partition.

AOPK? Sounds very cool, I'm willing to test if you need any testers.

My guess is that many g1 users are very familiar with this and won't mind. Just any rom you port make sure to post the recommended size for cmtd.
As for helping to build, port, or test you can pm me and if I have the time I will be more than willing

The kernel files from the united cm9 rom didn't work.

The thing is, Samsung was really consistent about it. ROM leaks and Kernel source leaks always seemed to get pulled very quickly. It was almost like there was an xda-dev inside the company trying to help us out. Either that or they were using us as lab rats trying to get us to fix all the bugs they left in.
Regardless my download is complete and I took a quick look and it APPEARS as though its useable source; but its been so long since I rolled my last kernel I wouldn't know where to begin anymore. 2.4 was JUST becoming mainstream and 2.6 (aka 2.5 when it was dev) was just barely branching lol. Any people more in the know than I care to point me in the right direction to verify that it is indeed for the T-Bolt other than it being called mecha-2.6.32-gb05544a.tar.gz ?
IF HTC pulls the download; I'll happily send it out into the intarwebs. To paraphrase good ole Linus, Only wimps backup: real men just upload their important stuff on /pub, and let the rest of the world mirror it.

What ROM are you basing yours off of? Or are you basing this off the RUU? I have a Sense 4.0 I'm working on, from a base whom I got permission from. What all do you have done?
Sure I will upload something just really need to find a good provider to upload to

Just finishing up getting it past boot, so that anyone willing cam give me a logcat to help. Very close actually.
OK so I just spoke to Rabim, and no, he doesn't have the ROM ready. It wouldn't boot because he's using the wrong kernel, and since there is no kernel for Sense 4, he used the one for AOSP which caused a lot of different issues.
HOWEVER, the guy is new to this, and he just wants to learn as much as he can, so if you're going to flame and write retarded comments about this, please hit yourself in the head with a sharp object first. If you guys have ideas and want to support him, I've messaged andy to move this thread to general section, and there you can share your ideas with Rabim and help him develop the ROM. He's using the recent nexus port of Endeavor.
EDIT: I would offer my help, but I have no time at all atm.
Ok, here we have the OP, who want's to learn & give something to the Desire HD community.
What happens next....
1. The whole community gets behind him/her and provides necessary guidance & advice to achieve the overall goal?
2. Some users take it upon themselves to "nay-say" and just bring the thread down before it's even started?
We want the answer to be 1.
Yet here we are again, and we have 2.
Please guys, don't push away those who want to give something back to the community.
Rabim - I've moved your thread to General until things start to progress. Once you have something together just send me a PM and I'll get this moved into the Development forum.
Also, any problems of issues? Just PM me or add me on GTalk and I will always be happy to help. (Seems like 3/4's of XDA's Million users have me on GTalk now )

[Q] Any devs willing to help?

I'm in the middle of trying to port my FIRST ROM!
I'm very excited but I'm very new as well. I was wondering if any devs were willing to help me once it's complete to see whether I've done it right or still need some help. If you could contact me or below and I'll get back to you with all the info once I'm done!
ETA: Tomorrow afternoon (2-3 PM EST)
TIA! I'm really pumped about getting into this stuff!
Update:
Here's the final port (beta obviously)
***download***
If anyone is willing to try it out and help guide me on how to fix any problems, I'd gladly appreciate it!!!!
I'm no dev, but I'll give you a couple of things to watch out for.
Low mic - make some calls. Sckboy78 has a low mike fix he uses on his roms that is probably linked in some of his release threads.
Device name - make sure you change the right line over in the build.prop so that it shows HTC Glacier as the device type in settings. That is covered in Mr. Highway's porting guide, but people tend to miss it.
I'm no recognized developer, but I am very good at porting. Are you porting sense or AOSP? PM me with questions or need a tester.

Alright I just finished! Sorry it was a little past the ETA.... But should I post in the Dev area or have some people test it out first?

It's actually pretty common to my experience. Zips missed it in a couple of his earlier builds. Basically your signal never changes. Like I'd always have either two bars or full bars (depended on the ROM, never understood why they're different) and I'd know for a fact that it's wrong.

FYI, saying it has Super Charged tweaks without saying what they are exactly smells bad because either
1. people think that V6 is included and if not...
2. what you're saying actually means nothing at all and it's all just hot air.
btw it's fine to include it in any rom anyway as long as credit is given
Its build.prop tweaks ,I've stated it before. If you really don't believe me go ahead and look for yourself, v6 isn't in any of my ROMs. Instead of assuming that its included with out proper credit
