Music playback sync feature - Nexus Q Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Are any Q owners able to tell me about the music playback sync feature that has been mentioned, that allows you to link Q's together and play music in sync.
Anyone tried it (anyone have more than 1 Q )
Anyone know what it uses to sync playback (rtp multicaast stream, proprietary tech) and if you can use third party clients to stream the synced music?

I have, it works good. Got two Q's from ebay.
But you can not stream yourtube or video synced to two different places at the same time. which seems lame.

Hi
Thanks for the response, good to hear it works. Q's on eBay already, I'll start hunting.
I would imagine it doesn't do video sync because it is not designed to be a video player, it's a music player mainly isn't it? I presume if you want video sync playback you need to get yourself a GoogleTV, which I gather are as hard to find as a Q (in the UK here at least)!!

Itunes Audiobook player for Universal?

I've searched and searched the web for any player which will play .m4b audio files from itunes but searches were fruitless.
TCPMP is my favourite player although it doesn't support progressive jpeg - I like the embedded pictures in the audiobook and want to also keep the bookmark feature of .m4b. When i try to play the files with TCPMP it doesn't even play properly.
I want to play my audio books on my phone instead of having to carry around the old ipod.
does anyone know if there is such a player or project in the works to enable full itunes compatibility?

Streaming video not working correct

Hi,
Since a long time i have problems with streaming video on my Wizard. For example, i want to watch the news (ASF-format). Windows Media Player 10 start the stream, the sound is ok but there is no video. I have also tested it with TCPMP, but this doesn't work either. How can i fix this?
You need to change the bandwidth settings in Media player, from auto detect to something with edge speeds(256k). That solved the problem for me....

Videos.. They just won't work!!

Hi all, firstly I've used the search function and failed to find anything on the subject.. I'm blaming vb's generally bad search engine!
Anyway, I'm having a problem running videos I've encoded on my Vario II. I've encoded them using Pocket DivX Encoder and they still don't work. On my phone I have installed Divx, PCPMP, Pocket MVP, and WMP obviously. So far, all I've managed to get to kind of work is one video which doesn't play in WMP, but plays in all the others.. well, when I mean play, has sound which is ok, skips now and then and the video is either all black or just shows the very first frame and goes weird.
Where am I going wrong? Are there specific settings I should use with PocketDivXencoder? Should I use a different program?
I used to use Virtual Dub a while ago when encoding videos for my Iriver h300, but wouldn't know what settings to use to get vids to play on my vario II..
Also, with the syncing, I can get it to sync, but WMP10 just doesn't want to sync.. so I can't do the videos that way. And I'm not installing WMP11!
Thanks! This is driving me mad.

Don't know what you looked up but it wasn't for example TCPMP or Core Player or Raw Frame Buffer etc etc etc using the advanced search options to select Hermes forum (important with this issue to specify Hermes). I think you'll find there's oodles of info - not all good but oodles all the same

Viewing On-Line Videos

Is there a way to view on-line videos through WMP? Instead of the phone automatically using the default player (don't know what this player is?) On the default player, if I want to view an on-line video I have to actually download the vid to my phone, takes 2 to 3 mins to do this. Whereas WMP buffers the video and then plays it in about 10 secs without having to physically download it.
How come no help with this? I've been posting this thread and a similar one for two days now. If nobody knows the answer or there isn't one, can someone say.
Anyone please?
use either streaming media or coreplayer, i dont think anybody uses WMP anymore, it's waaaaay outdated.
btw, you can set file association to your favorite media player

Thx for reply.
Yes you're right about WMP, it's just that I found it much quicker to view a video. Coreplayer is something I might try. How would I set file association to my favourite player?
