Google Play Balance - HELP! - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone
I got my Nexus 7 a few days ago and I have been trying to use the $25 Google Play Balance for a while now. However, every time I try to purchase an App, it always gets stuck on "Authorizing purchase" and then after a few minutes it gives me some errors. This has been happening for EVERY single app I try to purchase.
Can anyone please help me out?
EDIT: I also tried to purchase App through the Google Play web, and that too gave me a "technical difficulty" error.

try going into app manager and clearing data and clearing cache and rebooting ur nexus and then see what happens????

Problem still exists. I can't make any purchase in Google Play using the $25 balance, let it be the Google Play android app or Google Play website.

Google Play Store Force Closes

Just when you think you have this cursed tablet at least stable, something else happens. So the Google Market app decided to update itself to the Google Play Store. Now it force closes every time it's opened. Anyone getting the same (not getting the same?)? Any solutions? I tried manually side-installing another copy of the Play Store that I found online, but that made no difference.
I was able to fix this. I went into the Application Settings and cleared the data for the Google Play Store app. I then pressed the button to force stop the Google Play Store app, which I think caused the whole launcher to close and restart. After that, opening Google Play Store brought the "update" message and license agreement again without force closes. It's been running okay so far.
I was having the same issue with my store after attempting to rent a movie. Play Store and Play movies would FC every time. The clearing data trick didn't work. I had to to restore with a CWR backup.
try wiping 3 times. I have not had one problem since.

Found this on a less traveled site: This did the trick for me.
I had this problem and called Google Support. They were very helpful. What I had done is disabled the Download Manager when trying to get rid of the Facebook download notification. Go into Settings...Appplication manager. ..All...then find and click on Download Manager.
**Note: that if it is disabled it will be at the very bottom of the list of apps. Once you click on Download Manager you can click to enable it again. This worked for my problem at least so I'm posting hoping it may help others.

Try going to settings, apps, and bring up play store. Try clearing cache and data and reboot. This has helped some issues with market/play store. You may have to re-enter your google credentials.

Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped....

Every 20 minutes I see this annoying message. Am I the only one? I'm running Jr6 ROM.

Try deleting the data in settings, manage apps, play store, then delete data.

I am getting this error. I am rooted and have changed the DPI. Going to try fix mentioned above. Will report back.

This method did help significantly lower the amount of force closes I was seeing. Since I was mostly seeing this error when returning to the home screen, I removed all play store widgets and haven't experienced any force closes since. I haven't tried re-adding those widgets since I didn't even use them.
Thanks Rycon33!

[Q] Play store keeps crashing

I'm having problems with Play Store, it loads, but then crashes after a few seconds with the unexpectedly stopped message. I'm running stock 4.2.1. I have another user set up, and when logged in as them the play store is fine. I've tried clearing cache & data, uninstalling updates, and rebooting but have had no luck getting it going again.
Does anyone have any other ideas or am I just going to have to do a factory reset?
Try clearing data in Google Services Framework and Playstore then reboot. I had the same problem on a phone and this worked. Sometimes you have to do it twice.

Just tried that, still no good. Guess I'll have to do a factory reset.

No connection on store home

Before you dismiss this as me not googling or doing my research hear me out please. I can't connect to the the play story due to a "connection time out" however unlike ever other post have found my connection timeout is exclusively localized to the Google play store home (i.e. default page that opens when you launch the app). i have flashed at least 7 roms cleanly (wiped factory / formated all the mounts that i should/ dalvik chache and normal chache, etc...) to no avail on both kit kat and jb.
Some one plese help !

Strange for sure. When you're going through initial setup are you logging into Google? I'm wondering if your profile is corrupted. Maybe try clearing data from play store and Google services. Are you on wifi or mobile when it's happening?

Let me guess, at some point you cleared google services or framework to try to get an OTA. That is one of the problems caused by doing that. You will need to wipe data and cache for the play store and hope that works. Also, try to log into the play store from your computer and try to have it install something to your phone to re-establish your google id with your phone.
