If you want to sell/trade/buy LOOK HERE FIRST - Member-Found Deals

Note to Mods: Please sticky this, and maybe even lock it so that everyone can see it.
If you are in this forum to find a used phone to buy, to sell your used phone or trade for a used phone, YOU ARE IN THE WRONG SECTION.
the MARKETPLACE has four forums:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
WANTING TO BUY - Where you post to announce that you want to buy a particular phone
WANTING TO SELL - Where you post when you have a phone that you want other people to buy
MEMBER-FOUND DEALS - Where you post and find posts with links to other sites that are having sales. Such as ebay or bestbuy.com
JOB BOARD - Where you go to see some tech related job openings
IF YOU DON'T SEE ALL FOUR FORUMS, THEN YOU ARE TOO NEW.
In order to sell or buy a phone on XDA you must have an account with a certain number of posts and be a member for more than a year. This policy is to prevent scamming by making sure only those invested in the site buy and sell.
DO NOT POST YOUR BUY/SELL/TRADE TOPICS IN MEMBER-FOUND DEALS SECTION JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE THE OTHERS.
If you do, no one will buy/sell/trade from/to you and you will be mocked and made fun of as a noob. Not a threat, just a fact of what happens. The Mods will then lock your topic and it will forever clutter our forum.
Hopefully everyone reads this (and hopefully it is stickied) Though I doubt it will help since noobs are noobs
THANK YOU

This is helpful but people don't read. They just post and then get mad when it's incorrectly done. I say just make the market read-only for all new members.

yeah this is a pretty pointless thread.
If they didn't read the forum name, they sure aren't going to read your thread.
It's like a sign outside of the bathroom saying "Men" then a sign in the bathroom saying "read this: this is the men's bathroom"

Well, I'm assuming the confusion that new members have is that they enter the marketplace and this is the only forum they see, so they assume it all goes here. There is no sticky informing them otherwise.
Hopefully if they see this stickied they will read it.
By the above logic there shouldn't be any "read this first" threads in any forum.

I don't know about that. If they cannot see the WTS section, then they are going to be even more confused by your screen shot. There have not been that many postings here, the 2 today is an anomaly, so we don't need a new thread to clutter up the section, the mods can just do what they've been doing and remove the once every couple weeks thread.

All this is already present in the rules and once they get to the marketplace.

[Q] Screen Rotation Animations

I was wondering if their were any rotation mods for the MyTouch 4G. I would be willing to test anything. I am running CM7 RC1.
Thanks,

Please if you are going to ask a question, put it in the Q&A SECTION! Its there for a reason!! It mans, questions and answers!! Before you post read the "may I have your ATTENTION please" thread!! I'm sick of people posting questions in the development section. Its frustrating as hell!!
I'm gonna assume he asked here because its a question about a mod, which is considered development.

I thought that their was a mod for this sorry if I posted this in the wrong section. But that is how development gets started right?

You know what's frustrating? All the stupid political **** going on around the world.
A guy posting a thread on the wrong section about moding a cell phone? Not frustrating.
It was just a simple question.

1.5 Animations
I thought under spare parts in 1.5 you could have fancy animations? I wonder if this could be ported to 2.2? Because I tried to enable it but their was no animation. If any dev has anything I would be willing to test?
Thanks,

Not to be a no0b but I was just wondering...macfan Where do you see it?

Worst Maintained Forum I Have seen

No Offense though, I used to be on the DHD Forum and things were so much organised there and i can say that the moderators did a pretty good job but here on S3 its all messy and congested. I think the Moderators need to take some serious steps and spend some quality time on this forum. Once Again NO OFFENCE INTENDED.
Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

As with all forums its not the mods but users clogging up the forum with repetitive posts .
Give XDA mods firearms and the board would be much cleaner .

So you think the forum is a mess.....then you add to the mess with this useless post instead of addressing the moderators directly?! Stupid or gutless?

why do we have petitions coz opinions too many people make a difference plus i would hv done as u said but by creating a thread i though may be if someone agrees with me it will be more effective rather then addressing the moderator personally after all one persons opinion is no good but when its ten it can be slightly effective more people more effective, hope you understand

Then maybe you should consider how an overstretched, voluntary service is affected by your rather scathing comment (including the rolls eyes) ....a polite request to the moderators, or engage in a dialogue with them, would be far more favourable...they are perfectly approachable, and indeed it is encouraged in the rules to address them directly
I would recommend PM'ing either Woody, The-Captain or Jonny. The are, from what I've seen, the most active moderators in this section. They have, as any moderator/admin, personal lives which need attending and it's in fact Saturday.

ok i was wrong this is the best forum on whole xda.
Their is an XDA thread on improving sorting whatever you call it where senior mods asked for input from users .
But their are a number of simple basics that enable the forum to be easier for users noob or not .
Follow the rules .
Post in the correct section .
Dont ask the same question over and over .
Learn to search before asking a question .
Sadly that's just what most noobs refuse point blank to do couple that with their almost total refusal to read the basics before starting to flash .

Ha ha
Well I've seen worse, and the regulars are a pretty friendly bunch.....anyway I'm sure the moderators will have a chat about it with you and see what they can do, but remember the S3 is a very popular phone and we get a lot of passing traffic from people that aren't regulars here on xda, who just want answers with out effort....these are the people who block up the forum...And it is nigh on impossible to stop that happening
Yeah, when people like you start SPAMMING the forum, what can the mods do?
Ok, let's collectively let this thread die and the mods can do what they choose when they finish enjoying their weekend.
It's been reported so anyone coming here to let of a bit of testosterone should note that they are leaving themselves open to a bit of criticism too
THE END
PLEASE
The main reason the general forum is kinda messed up is because its full of crappy threads made by noobs who don't understand q&a and just want a quick answer and also some who wants their thanks meter up by giving 'awesome' tips and tricks that everyone already know (killing apps and turning power saving mode on to save battery). I used to have a galaxy s plus and the forum used to have more q&a threads in the development section because the galaxy s plus's forum was together with the galaxy s's
