I backed this along with the Pebble and Chameleon (among a few other Kickstarter projects). Damn Android draining my wallet! :silly:
I absolutely love the concept, the price point is great even with a second controller added on. Touchpad on the controller is killer IMO. I was going to spring for a PS Vita but this will take my gold for my b-day next year .

Yes, I think it's +$20USD for international shipping.

I really hope I can get this Australia.

Thank you Asus

Just wanted to add a happy voice to the discussion here. I'm involved in social media as a consultant, I must always be on, always connected, using my TF via a wifi hotspot on my phone is a LOT more pleasant an experience than working via my phone with it's tiny little screen
Love sitting outside on my porch, working while sipping cofee without having to lug a hot, heavy laptop with me.
Thank you Asus for this terrfic device, I also thank you also for listening & responding to the feedback users are giving you on this forum!
i agree, this is a pretty awesome device
Ya~
ASUS did it well this time. Good job !
same here.
The only thing stopping me from using the TF exclusively is that there is ONE app not available yet....when it is...bye bye laptop....you' stayin' at home!

I'm sure he's refering to Netflix lol. Yes 5 stars on this and not making us purchase the dock if we didn't want to
thanks for the offer....much appreciated but it's a very high end bible software app called "Logos" that is on the verge of releasing an Android version.....
I appreciate it anyway....
Edited to add....I want netflix too!

Lol Wooot
I agree, this is the best Android tablet release to date. ASUS has done a great job in designing (and pricing) this device.
I use it for business, and this weekend my wife asked if she could use it to look up something on the internet - it is now on her birthday wish list. She is an iPhone user, BTW.
I love my TF a little more each day! I love the freedom it gives me, no more having to pack and lug a laptop bag around with me!
Its the unhappy folks who tend to make their voice heard, while the happy rest of us enjoy life, right? glad to see someone give praise to the awesome device Im sittin on my porch drinkin a beer, listening to the radio and browsing the web on my tablet right now (colorado) Much love ASUS, and asus, please give us tegra3 transformer2 as soon as possible! haha
lol.. I just posted my own TF love post before reading this one. I totally agree!

If he's referring to netflix then just use splashtop and stream it as it runs GREAT on the tablet. Being able to text message, make a call, and watch netflix is a great feeling
I used to ask myself what was the point of a tablet and now I can finally understand the answer to that question.
Next week I think I am reordering mine. I sent it back to Amazon because it was having problems, but I am moving in a few days so I will wait until the move is done.
I like the lazy factor of a tablet I still feel much more productive on my PC, but I can't lounge around and poke at things on it. I also kind of miss dungeon defenders... I was thinking about the fact that the TF2 is just over the horizon, but I can afford to get a new TF and gift that to my little sister. That seems like a win-win if I ever heard one.

Amazon is sold out now but they last had the B6O revision so the next batch will probably be the same or higher. If you're going to reorder, now would be a good time.

Miss my vibrant

Well my vibrant finally bit the dust last week after running with a shattered screen for like 2 months...I'm using a friends back up phone now and its no Samsung....HTC mytouch 4g...:.not bad but I sure miss the touchwiz.....
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
Touchwiz? heh...
You know you can buy a replacement screen for like $100 online and replace it yourself.
If you can assemble a PC you can do a phone.
MIUI with SGS2 theme and Touchwiz 4.5 apk shall calm the itch.
myTouch is an awesome phone IMO, u should try Virtuous Unity. Optimized Sense 3.0 ROM gives it so much life

Yes I am but weighing in on how much I'm willing to spend on an outdated phone when I see how much people actually want for them.....
My contract with t-mobile ends in 7 months and I'm so not sure where it'll go from there....making it hard to spend a lot on another vibrant

I am in the same boat. Found the replacement glass for 100 but didn't see the point in putting the money into a phone that I was tired of. Ended up buying a used SK4G. It's a pretty nice phone. I like having an actual keyboard. Not very many ROMs for it though.
There's a shop in Tampa that replaces the screen(2 piece) for $110.Labor included...
I'll sell you mine for 225! It's in great condition! I got the galaxy nexus so I will probably put it on ebay very soon!
Sorry guys but I'm not really willing to spend more than about $50 maybe 75. on this phone otherwise id just prefer to spend a lil more and buy a new up to date phone....in my opinion the vibrant is worth no more than $150.
Not that I don't think its a great phone....cuz it is and I'm aware of that.....its just not worth it to me

Looks like someone is trying toge their post count up so they can post in the Dev section. Not cool!!! At least ask something. Chances are whatever is on your mind is in the Q&A section which has no post minimum.

if your on ICS plug ins wont show unless you use an app to open the plugins(like a shortcut app) then they will show up on the liveview page, I saw the solution earlier if i find it Ill post it here
---------- Post added at 07:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:12 AM ----------
ok heres the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/...vbS5zaWthNTI0LmFuZHJvaWQucXVpY2tzaG9ydGN1dCJd
So install it and open the plug in using the shortcut app and they will show up on the liveview app
Ordered 4 of them waiting for them to arrive.
I know you can get Torque (car diagnostics) gauges plug ins
hoping player pro has a plug in
has potential. I hope I can connect more than one at a time to the same phone.
ALSO can I use it as a ZOMM ? ie a LEASH for my phone to go nuts if my phone gets too far from the liveview? (if I for example leave it on the counter at the store and walk away...)
Thanks for sharing this. I was wondering what was wrong with my phone

"- Slim profile bumper is only 2.5mm thick
- Allows for the device to be seen and not wrapped up in a bulky case
- Super-lightweight (weighs 12 grams, less than half an OUNCE!)"
From the looks of it, the bumper comes onto the screen by a couple mm, which is why it may look thicker than it actually is.

There go those nasty laws of physics getting in the way again. Unfortunately, it takes more than a mm of TPU to absorb/disperse the energy from a 20 foot drop (at which point the phone is traveling about 24 MPH). Serious impact protection doesn't come without a little bit of bulk. Ultra-thin cases provide little more than scratch protection.

You can only get a reference by looking at the iPhone bumper, since the bumper for the Z3C isn't developed yet.

While this concept sounds awesome, I'm a little concerned as to how seriously Evolutivelabs is taking this..
- I emailed them over a week ago with some basic questions.. no response
- Publication of rendering and design was supposed to come out 14 days after start of campaign. That was supposed to be last week..
- This concept isn't being marketed anywhere, not even on their own website. You'll only get to the pre-order page through a direct link.
- The funding goal is 1400 units ($35000). The kickstarter campaign for the iPhone was 6000 Pounds. Why would they want a much higher number of preorders for the Z3 Compact?
I'll be preorder a bunch of these for myself and colleagues if Evolutivelabs shows that they're going to take this seriously.. Right now it doesn't look that way to me at all.

Of course they aren't serious! Look at how much effort they did to let people know about the bumper for our phone.
0 effort at all!
I was thinking about opting out of my pre order, but I'll leave it anyways even tho I knew from the start that 1400 pre orders is utter bullcrap for an item that isn't being advertised at all.

The design isn't that bad actually. It is different, but I like it. The screen is really spacious and its a fast device. The stock ROM isn't half had either, but I don't like the bkoat carriers ship it with
Personally though, I'd wait. Right now I'd say it is the best device you can buy, but others are planned ftom other OEMs
