to de-bloat (not much tho) and put your CSC into the package you must retar the firmware package
here i will pressent a sshort tutorial on how to do that:
1) get Total Commander
2) get latest FW for Your Region
3) get http://samsung-updates.com/get/2202/Samsung_Firmware_GT-I9000_HUT_I9000XWJW7_Android_2_3_6.html
4) unpack cache.rfs from FW that is for Your region (point 2)
5) from Samsung_Firmware_GT-I9000_HUT_I9000XWJW7_Android_2_3_6.zip unpack JW7_JV6_JW1.tar
6) enter JW7_JV6_JW1.tar in Total Commander and unpack all files to separate folder
7) copy cache.rfs that You extracted in point 4 and overwrite the one You just unpacked
8) now navigate to window with all files from firmware and new cache.rfs
9) select (they will turn red) all files (using Ins'ert key) and hit ALT+F5 - pick a name of the tar file (must have .tar extension) and hit enter
10) you can now flash your firmware debloated and equiped with your csc (this will not add input languages)

ps. copying just cache.rfs from one to another will fail as for your security whole package got md5 checksum added

I have a problem: I have upgraded this firmware via Kies, rooted with stock+ kernel and via root explorer I have installed infoalarm.apk in /system/app. deleting the ugly MMMsamsung, Bol and fileindex which are quite useless. I have checked the permissions and the owner in the infoalarm.apk but the software refuses to install, also when I restart the phone, anyone has any idea?

It has been for a month via Odin and no operator used it, now it's via Kies and for KPN which made a huge difference. A first move to mass installation of a 2.3.6 ROM perhaps !

When I flashed it this weekend, the T9DB files were missing.
I flashed the one from Ramad's thread, not this one.
I used my own carriers PHONE and CSC files, so that might be why they weren't there.
I get some SODs with jw1, stock+ kernel.
with exactly same settings and apps, jvt is perfectly stable, so I reverted back to jvt for the time being.
Anyone else getting SODs?
The only problems I have had with JW1 whether using Stock+ or Semaphore 2.5.0 kernels is boot loops if wi-fi is enabled when the phone boots up.
I have to remember to turn off wi-fi when I shut down the phone.
Other than that, it's been rock solid.

is it posible to copy the csc folder from another rom, like jvu, to get dbt csc back?
in other words: flash jvu -> copy csc fodler to sdcard -> flash jw1 -> copy csc fodler from sdcard into system -> change csc to dbt

with CF-Root-ext4-v1.3-Addon.apk: you find it in 7th post of this Thread
i don't link it directly because Chainfire don't want.
Remember that for conversion in ext4 of /system, you must have at least 6 MB of free space in this partition: if you do no have enough space in /system, remove some bloatware (root required).

Instructions For Flashing:
Extract the firmware
Open the included Odin
Put your device into Download MODE
Click PDA and select *.tar.md5
Then finally click START!
No XEE or NEE DAMN U SAMSUNG....................
Not that I personally care, but there is alot of ppl that want to update via kies , that dont want to flash via odin etc..

you need to root your self by doing rooting procedure
this is original firmware, so root is not included
tar file (not zip) can be flashed using odin3 (see example on screenshot, wipe phone before/after flashing)

yes, this is 100% original release from samsung, it is offered via Kies for users from Switzerland with SGS under operator Sunrise.
It is not on sammobile because they don't have information about SGS from Sunrise Switzerland (SUN) and some other models.
This is not first time when I post firmware from Kies which is not posted on any other websites.
I'm on JW4, Semaphore 2.7.4 and ext4 file system. Is it possible to flash this ROM without making any damage on my current setup? (I mean deleting my installed apps, settings etc.)

HOW TO FLASH: download, unzip, run odin3, put TAR file in PDA, no other changes (see screenshot). Make sure you have samsung drivers, factory reset phone from menu (you will lost all apps, unless you backup), power off phone, press voldown+home+power, connect to PC via USB, wait for your phone in ODiN3, click START.

Ok, will try it, and try to see if Semaphore JW4/JW5 root kernel can work on it!
Edit : ok for those who are interested in this version, semaphore 2.7.4 works great with it (root too of course). Not so much bloat by the way, only 6 or 7 SFR apps removed with Titanium Backup in 3 clicks.

Does anyone know which CF-root kernel to use with this version. I dont think there is enough information about this version on the net and it would be great if some Pros can point me/us to a correct version.
P.S the admins need to get rid of the annoying captcha, i dont know if it is my bad day but i can hardly make out the words. Please implement the games/puzzles or any other alternative.
