People, this is an SDK port... it's just, basically, taking apart the required hardware parts from Aurora ICS and merging it together with a Jelly Bean SDK dump...
It's an ugly process that almost certainly will only achieve a somewhat clean boot, but will always have a lot of things not working and that won't ever be possible to work without looking at the source code of Jelly Bean. The SC is essential for devs to adapt the kernel to the new Android JB release. I'm pretty sure there are changes in JB that will require a whole lot of re-writing of the kernel for it to work nice with our phone.
At least that's my understanding of how sdk ports work. Don't ever expect a lot from an SDK port.
Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Using Gingerbread as a base presumably?
Given the amount of "non-standard" hardware in the SGS2, you'll need support libs from either an existing non-AOSP OEM firmware, or from CM7 won't you?

Lol no he can't. There isn't a FULL system dump of the Galaxy Nexus yet. There is only the dump from the SDK. He will probably theme it like Ice Cream Sandwich. Anyways good luck to the dev
source is the power, says cyanogen. wont this be useless when the sources are released? wont this feel like wasting cuz when sources is released, other devs will easily make those ICS roms, instead of porting it.
well anyway good luck to the dev!

That's not the point. Of course, a dump would be a lot better. But being the first to port and get a working SDK rom... Now that's where the fun is

I for one don't see this working as every device seems to be getting the same LibC error at the moment (except for some reason the G2).
The best hope seems to be getting a HC rom to work then using the boot.img from that to boot the ICS sdk port. (this is what we believe happened with the G2 to get it to boot)
I would be satisfied with the new gmail application including widget
Cheers!
Looking to try .Hope you have a great ICS.

The Unofficial CyanogenMod Series - added aokp-jellybean test build

Hi all I will be working this a little. But don't expect anything to great. I don't have a whole lot of time to work on this. I bricked my phone and not having much luck getting it replaced. So I won't be working on this to much until I can get a new phone as I will be spending all my time working.

I will be posting cm7, cm9, and cm10 builds here.
Idk if any of these work.
Don't get mad at me if they brick your device. Infact treat them with a high chance of brickage, unless otherwise noted.

You'll likely receive a lot of flak over re-hosting/posting stuff as you've seen thus far, but if you're offering something you've re-worked in any way(which is what I understand you're doing) then I'd stick with just that and link to other threads in your OP if necessary.
If you compiled from CM10 source here we have CM10 kernel for Captivate (no datadata partition).
This is very interesting.
Thank you very much: if compiling went well this is really an important step for JB on Cappy and now we can run also official Pawitp builds.

Trying to port JB ROM

Hey guys.
I am new to android developing.
I started by porting the CM10.1 ROM from HTC Desire, but my phone is stuck at the Huawei logo when it boots up.
I can still flash another ROM, but that is not the problem.
I want to know how to fix this. I want it to go past the Huawei Logo.
By the way, I used this procedure: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598713 and I used Aurora ICS 5.0 for the base ROM. I know it doesn't have the same version of android, but there is no reason I shouldn't be experimenting like this.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Currently, to port my ROM, I replaced files in port ROM from base ROM. Should I replace files in base ROM from port ROM?
Thanks for the help.
Hi Again
Hello.
I found out that there was a problem with the base ROM.
I have ported CM10.1 from U8800! Yaay!
But there are four things that are not working:
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- Cam Recording
- Sound
Can you guys tell me how to fix the audio? In the logcat, it says that there is no sound output.
Thanks

I have just ported the Jelly Bean from u8800pro to u8800non-pro, so I will be working on this ROM.
Seriously, I have no idea when I will be releasing a fully functional ROM. Because I have my studies as well, so I don't get much time to work on the ROM.
The audio is working in this ROM (wasn't working in the previous port),
The things that are currently not working are:
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- Video Recording
I will try my best to do as much as possible.
I am new at building android ROMs, so please don't expect too much from me
I will be needing some help from other developers as well.
Do you think I should make a thread for this? or is there already enough not-fully functional JB ROMs there?
Thanks.:good:

I know how you feel. I also feel that way.
I would like to build Jelly Bean from source, like Blefish is doing right now, but I need a 64bit computer for that (mine is only 32bit. Unless there is a hack for this, I can't build from source.
I think everyone is going to start porting Jelly Bean ROMs until one starts working. :silly:
Everyone is porting the rom with the intention of making ir fully working and then abandon development. Why don't you and others continue the work that is already done instead of making a new port which will end up like the others.
Like your are having compatibility issues due to your 32bit computer, perhaps our device is incompatible with JB...

Our device will remain compatible with every new android untill android will be using some new architecture of processor, so "sometimes it's better to stay silent".
OP, abandon your trials of getting a working JB using copy-paste ports. It can be only ported from source.
P.S.: just install ubuntu x64 and try to build something like CWM recovery out of forumber's source. If it builds, you can build anything you want. Today's computers know how to emulate x64. I'm myself using an old pentium d 820 (i386, sse2 and that's all) and I can build.

Now I and others also pick up a JB Rom, mod it here and there and then instead of 4/5 roms we can have dozens. Then again non working well. This makes sense?

So I can install ubuntu x64 on my x86 laptop? Are you talking about a virtual machine or installing ubuntu x64 on the actual laptop?
And as for others: Instead of saying that JB is not compatible with our device and all that sh*t, why don't you encourage me and give me some solutions.
Anyways, I am not posting this JB ROM until it's fully functional, because I might stop development as well (getting interested in firefox os).

First of all, your CPU must support x64,If it supported, you can install x64 to you computer.
If you want install x64 system in virtual machine (like VirtualBox),you CPU must support VT-x or AMD-V (virtualization).
You can check virtualization and x64 support via SecurAble;

and except of gingerbread versions ,isn't it?
I have ported a JellyBean Xperia ROM (very good features!). Unfortunately, com.android.phone keeps stopping. As soon as I start up the phone, it says "unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped".
Does anyone know how to fix this? Again, I cannot get logcat because it is Android 4.2.2.
Thanks.

As of the Android 4.2.2 update, when you connect your phone to a computer, you are presented with your computer's RSA key fingerprint to open the adb connection. You also have the ability to permanently trust the computer, so you don't have to repeat this step upon every re-connect.
In order for this to work, you must be on the latest SDK which will grant you an updated 'adb' binary.
We will not be introducing any functionality to sidestep this default security, so if you don't update, you will lose the ability to access the device using adb.
Hi!
Thanks for the information, but I already have the latest SDK installed.
The problem could be in the Rom. Because IT have enabled adb under developer options, but still there is nothing about adb in the status bar when I connect the phone to the computer. There is also no mass storage notification!

What does "touch buttons don't work" mean? That the home, search, back and menu button do nothing? If so, maybe you should wait to fix that before releasing the ROM, because people will be mad to find out they installed a ROM where buttons don't work, despite it being stated on your post.

Ah, great. BTW, the libs, wpa_suplicant and qcom_cfg from the CM10.1 ROM that fixed wifi in it, don't work on this one?

It will. He just needs to set the right permissions and add appropriate libraries ifbhe already hasn't done so.
By the way ilyaaa, how did you get this rom to boot? I was trying to port it and I couldn't get logcat, so I didn't know where the problem was exactly. Please tell me because it might help me port Sense 4.0 ROM.
Thanks.
Can i ask which devs are working in this rom? Or it's only you?
I don't think these initial versions are "for everyday use!" Wifi is not working BT is bugged and sometimes freeze means it's unstable.
Furthermore wish you good luck and if I can help in testing that rom I'll be happy.

Me thinks that pac files were taken from the rom posted on forumbers cm9 thread and put over his cm10.1 rom
hence why the same bugs.
Just seems funny that the link was posted then a couple days later this thread appears.
Hell even the Op page is copy and pasted.
Same rom different skin?
That being said I Hope you can get it working.

Scattered efforts
Appreciated effort mate ..... but was really hoping you would finish the previous project, CM 10.1, before starting a new one with more or less same major issues ... can't see the point when functionality is lacking really
This rom got same problems of CM 10.1 because is another port from U8800 Pro and ports most of times aren't stable (good example is port of games to PC) and effort to try to fix errors and bugs is almost equal or more to start from scratch.
I would love to help but my knowledge in this field are very few. I sincerely hope that you can fix all that errors particularly bluetooth and radio.
I'm still waiting for Blefish's CM 10.1 i believe this is gonna be bug free

Isn't Pacman based on aosp? Does it contain proprietary code? What's the license of Pacman rom? Must be GPL or similar, isn't it? He just have to give credit, if that's the case.
