Carrier Name - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Helo all,
Since my fisrt custom ROM, OXYGEM, my carrier name changed, even now, when i'm using the Aurora ICS rom from DZO, after installing the previous stock roms, the carrier name is not the one that was supost to be.
My girlfriend has the same phone. she was using the stock rom yet. I installed the Aurora ICS and the carrier name is right!
Do you know how can i overwrite tis problem? there's a file or something that I can copy from her phone.
Tanks

I suggest you to install official 2.2 or 2.3 to restore sytems to normality.
than you just root and instal CWM and custom rom again.
To install custom cum you can skip the root part off course...

To install the Aurora ICS ROM i had to downgrade to stock 2.2 and install the 2.3 official rom!
So, i gues it doesn't resolve the problem! =/

[Q] ROM instalation question

Hello!
I want to install a new costum rom: [ROM] 2.2.1 MiniCM-1.0.0-Beta2.1 port for x8
I have a costum rom from racht alredy installed on my x8 device.
Question:
If i want to install a new costum rom, do I have to restore my stock/original rom to device before installing that rom? Or can i just install that rom?
Leaf
No, you can flash roms one over another. Even if they are compatible, you can make "advanced recovery" and flash only the system part, so you keep your programs, contacts, call logs etc.
So if i have a 2.3.3 CM X8 J005 HACKDROID i can install update.zip onto it?

[Q] Help Installing MIUI based Elite ROM v9.6 Multilanguage

Hello,
First I'm new here and the rule of posting 10 times before being able to post in development section is not to fair I must say.
Well, I would like to try the MIUI based Elite ROM v9.6 Multilanguage 2012-02-01.
I know that I have its recommended to downgrade to a 2.2 version such as U8800 V100R001C00B138SP04(Normal).
We should repeat this downgrad process at least 3 times.
And then what we need to do more?
Should we root it and then install a CWM or I can just install the CWM and boot directly in recovery to install the MIUI based Elite?
Also, which CWM should be used?
Thank you
I dont think it really requires the stock to be installed 3 times, but if you have time, just do it. After it install CWM and flash the rom. no need to root. cwm version 5.0.2.6 works.

sounds like you tired to install over a froyo rom/kernel, did you upgrade to 2.3 official before installing the .35 recovery and rom?

hi
i am using miui from the last few months now, i installed cyanagen , all these roms are based on 2.3 and at present i am using miui_u8800_2.2.24 andi tried to install rom from this rom only, i dont use froyo, but still the problem persists,
can u help
You need to install OFFICIAL 2.3.5 if you want to use .35 kernel ROMs (new CM7.2, Aurora, new MIUI...). It is not enough if you just install a custom 2.3 ROM beacuse older 2.3 ROMs use .32 kernel, so you need to update to official 2.3.5 which also changes some other files so you can use .35 kernel and from official you can go to .35 kernel custom ROMs.
now different prob

hi
thanks for what u said but
i installed official 2.3.5 but now there is no imei and when i try to load into pink screen to change the recovery, it is not mounting, seems there r no files in it,
please help
and also when i revert back to 2.2 it shows files in boot screen in boot loader (pink Screen) and there i can change the latest recovery 5.5.0.4 but again the problem is back to .32, is there any way i can install only kernel to first change from .32 to .35 and then try to install a different rom (.35)
i would also like to add the official update i used was Android 2.3 V100R001C00B526G001 and now there is one more update Android 2.3 V100R001C00B528G001, currently i am downloading that, i will let u know what happens after i download that

You can change recovery with root explorer. Here is a great guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420728
Every ROM from beta2 on has locked bootloader so you cant change files when in pink screen but you can unlock it after you rooted it and changed recovery (search development forum for tutorial)
Problem solved
