Can this get any better? I think not. - Epic 4G General

I think I am in heaven... This phone, pardon the pun, is truly Epic..
Today solves my last issue I have had, printing from my phone, and Google now allows me to do this with ease.
I think I could actually go without my laptop now. Life is good. Thank you CM9 team, thank you Google.:good:

What sort of printer do you have? I want to see Cloud Print hacked onto DD-WRT, which would enable a lot of people to easily print from any Android device, with almost any printer. My AP is my print server.

How do you print from it? I had no idea that was even possible.

I am using Printer share from the market, It was free a couple months ago from the Amazon app store. But what makes it complete is the Google printing part.
I'm using several printers at work that are on the network. At home I am using my Epson Wi-Fi printer. Still it is amazing.

On another note, I don't think my phone has ever looked better either.

that big gaudy sense clock ruins it! jk.

To add to the completeness.. there was also just released a Scan to Phone app, that is supposed to allow you to scan directly from your scanner to your phone
A trial version is available, that allows 10 scans to verify if your scanner works
Accusoft USB Scanner - Trial

i have a program called Camscanner that works quite well for that. Pretty much an office in my hand.

Got Print Share and Camscanner...to really be complete you need Officesuite Pro! I've tried Quickoffice and Documents to Go and OfficeSuite really is the best IMO.

Yeah, I should of added I have that too. When I am setting in a meeting and can go back through emails while I am sitting there, and print it out, it is pretty awesome.

[INFO] AutoCad!!!

For those who use AutoCad it is now on the android market. Let me know how it works for the transformer.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
Awesome! That would be fantastic if it works well!
My wife does some Autocad on occasion for interior design work. If she gets a project anytime soon, I could see this justifying her own tablet purchase. Which would be great, since then she'd stop stealing mine........
nice!!
It could be nice if it work, and then someone could post video og pic of it, i would but havnt got mine yet, still waiting for the shipment
Autodesk AutoCAD WS runs fine on the eee pad.
YES!!
so how is the interface of the actual app? Would you be able to do work on it or just review drawings that has already been drawn?

+1 - good question. I will be doing quite a bit of cad work as well as presentations/documents etc for my course ((aircraft engineering degree) and really want this to be a great overall unit for it.
Here's a screenshot just to give you an idea. Yes you can edit/create stuff.
I've been playing around on it on a xoom at work today. It's mostly an viewer with some basic editing options. The web interface on the autocad ws site has alot more options for editing and changing the file.
From what I've seen, you can't make new drawings, only edit existing. You can draw line, polyline, squares, and circles. You can choose colors, and select layouts. Thats basically it.
I was really hoping/expecting to see all the options that you can on the web interface. But as today's the first day its been out, its not bad start.

An app to print docs??

Is there any app to print word files using the full sized usb 2.0??.....

The best printing "solution" I have found yet is Cloud Print. It prints using the Google Chrome remote printing integration.
Never found anything that would work direct.

So you're looking for a USB printer with an Android print driver? Ugh, good luck with that happening (not meant as sarcasm, but I really don't see it happening any time soon (what percentage of the world's printers' owners have Android 3.1+ devices to make it economically feasible to write the code?)
I've seen some printers (HP, Canon, Kodak) that have an Android WiFi printing app, and there are some cloud-based printing platforms.
Closest I found on ye old web search thingie was Polaroid has a Bluetooth printing app that works with some of their photo printers.

Would a printer with bluetooth work? I know the last Epson I had (RX595) and the HP printer my sister has are Bluetooth capable.

Google Cloud Print

Don't know if anyone knows about this but it's fantastic, I can print from my Xoom straight to my printer via desktop pc
This is very flexible, the app is called cloud print and you need google chrome, I can now print my reports written on ThinkFree from Chrome,
fantastic!!
It works natively with any HP network printer (I have one) and you can also print straight from Google docs (drive). Really nice to have, but I haven't had a need for it yet.

Since my MacBook went to sh*t I have been limited to my Xoom for doing everything and let me say that Cloud Print has saved my life.
I got a great new job, went through the whole process from cover letter and resume to interview and everything just using the Xoom, Google Docs and Cloud Print.
It works VERY well!

Is it this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pauloslf.cloudprint
(Just that it's not "owned" by Google, so I don't want to give that much permission to an app from a random).
Cheers.

It is built into Google Docs. Choose the web view of your document to get to the print option. Make sure you have set your printer up.
You don't need an app. This is not Apple.

ok...I'm officially bored. What tricks can I teach my N7?

So far I basically use this thing as a web browser, twitter reader and forum crawler.
Of course I rooted, themed, installed new kernels, bricked it, brought it back to life, and now I'm back to stock rooted.
So what else can this thing do? I bought a USB dongle thinger but I don't like watching movies on the small screen (I get headaches easy). Give me some ideas?

Have you tried alternate ROMs? If not, I'd recommend Paranoid Android. It's smooth, fast, stable, and it allows you to choose between phone, phablet, and tablet mode for every app.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800268
If PA isn't your style, try Slimbean or Cyanogenmod 10.
There are a lot of ROMs out there to mess around with.
Sent from my Paranoid Nexus 7
How about getting tablet mode by installing ROM Toolbox Lite and changing the DPI from 213dpi to 160dpi?
It's under Performance/build.prop.tweaks
You'll need to be rooted though.

Games, news, geocaching (tether it to your phone via bluetooth), use it as a GPS on your bike/car if you have one (I use my phone for now, and you can cache the maps before hand too, so no data connection needed), control your DSLR camera if you have one, setup an andruino system/project and use the N7 as a remote, use it as universal remote in your home (friend is doing that w his Galaxy Tab 2 7"), etc.
Imagination is the limit.

I don't know if you are into reading books, but ever since I got the N7, I've started downloading and reading ebooks (not through Google Books tho). Prior to that, the last time I actually read a fictional book was years ago. After I finish my current series, I'm thinking of downloading Wattpad.

How the heck do I print?

Ok so I just got a new printer and I connected it to my wi-fi and all is working fine. I was able to detect it and print with it on all of my computers and I all my iOS devices detected straight away and I was able to print but I can't for the life of me figure it out on my N4. What am I missing?

That depends on your printer and the right app to do so. Did you read the manual if Android phones can be use to connect wirelessly to print documents?
There are apps on the Play Store that allows you to connect to your printer if it's compatible with each other.
Like this for instance:

No it doesn't. You just need an app to pass the document to the printer. Lots of things aren't built in native because it would bog down the firmware. You think people complain about app being bloat??? Imagine what would happen if they added junk code 80% of people never use....
No the problem is Apple They've taken simple stuff and made it their own so when you buy a printer with AirPrint it only works with Apple devices.
My HP LaserJet at work can print from any wireless device because it uses WIFI Direct (what AirPrint was originally but then Apple changed it and then patented it and called it their own).
When you buy stuff designed to work with Apple products they can generally only work with Apple stuff (well mobile iOS stuff I mean, obviously not desktops and laptops which can work with anything with the right drivers )
Try this.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pauloslf.cloudprint
Works like a champ over here, and Google drive can print as well of you set it up right.
