NYC TMO Store w/ Galaxy S III in stock! - Galaxy S III General (US Carriers)

Upgraded at the T-Mobile Store in the Staten Island Mall today. Found out that they had the biggest shipment out of all NYC stores (more than the flagship store on 34th st.) Rep told me something about them being the number 3 store in Galaxy S sales in the entire company and that's why they received so many.
If interested here's the info from the business card:
T-Mobile Store 3811
Staten Island Mall
2655 Richmond Ave
718-761-7390
Plenty of staff on hand, and although the store was slammed I managed to get in and out quickly.
Stock was limited to 16gb blue only.
Good luck and in case you didn't know this phone is amazing!

I got mine there too. I was the first in line, in fact there really was no line. Only 3 other people besides me were there for the GSIII, but I would imagine many more showed up after me since I was there pretty early. Staff was great. They told me they received 80 units, so they still might have a few today.

New to T-Mo...What kind of speed??
Since this is a NYC post, I'm curious to know what you two guys (and/or gals) are getting as far as speeds? I'm new to T-Mo, coming over from Sprint. Thanks a lot.

on average between 8000-12000 on the DL and 1000-3000 on the UL.

I'm in Jersey City, NJ which is considered a suburb of nyc....

T-Mobile USA Retail Stores sells out ALL HD2 in less than 2 hours!

Not sure why they ordered so few but T-Mobile USA retail stores have already sold out of the HD2. I was at the store at 9AM and they sold out by 9:30!
I guess they didn't realize how popular it would be.
Odd I picked mine up at 12:30ish at Wal-Mart and was the first to purchase it... Its $148.88 at Wal Mart btw!
T-mo's logistic department has probably underestimated the demand for that phone in some areas of the US...maybe they weren't expecting such a high popularity for a device that doesn't have a bitten apple engraved on the back
I wouldn't be surprised as well if they wanted to sell out to make the phone look better. I bought it at a low traffic store who only got 6 and they didn't have enough for everyone waiting outside. I got mine though.
there are two tmobile stores near me, only four blocks apart. one got 8 and the other 15. i got the second to last one at the store that had 8, some people ahead of me bought more than one. the poor people that weren't buying hd2's were stuck in line for at least half an hour cuz it was taking so long to process the hd2 orders!
My local store got about 150...and sold out.
Then again, my local store is also the closest store to Microsoft's campus, so that's not entirely surprising.
I bought 2 of them just to sell to people in my area when they ran out to make a lil profit. Im using my Telstra 9193
If you're still looking for one, try your locak RadioShack! I know not all the stores in our area sold theirs yet.
I wanted to buy in corp store, but it took me almost 30 minutes and finally gave up (I had to go to school).
I can wait though.
i wanted to die today , the store was insanely packed my employees didn't even take a break , this launch was huge my store got a hand full of phones but sold out quickly, we had about 20 people waiting at 10am when we opened our doors , should have more by tomorrow anyone in miami interested in a hd2 visit my store i should have more tomorrow, 17748 nw 57th ave , miami lakes fl 33015
Don't tell me it's sold out nationwide today because the situation is so out of control.
Nope, not sold out nation wide, Abilene, Texas only has one tmo store in the Mall and it had a few. No one was even there looking at it except me... for like an hour... but still may have to wait to see what iphone "4" offers before I decide to switch from att to tmo, etc..

I was very unhappy that I drove all the way to Miami Lakes (I was told they still had a few) from Pines and the girl told me she just sold the last one. I was pissed! How can T-Mobile launch a phone they want to be an Iphone killer and not keep up with demand?
I ordered two from customer care over the phone but now I have to wait for delivery.
got mine at 12... but they couldnt give it to me servers were too damn loaded... so i went back at 3 and it worked!
My local store (fairly busy area) sold out in 5 minutes. The time it took 3 employees to ring up 4 people. Coulda told us sooner that it was the last one lol.
Should have just stayed home and done the online thing like I ended up doing
I bought two of them at my local store; one for me and one for my wife. They had a waiting list that they started on Saturday and sold all of them (they got 25) from the pre-order list. Only those people who were on the pre-order interest list got them. BOGO on an upgrade yielded two HD2's for $199.00. You can't beat that.
All tmobile stores in Minneapolis/St Paul area sold out by 3 PM. I watched the last one get sold and unfortunatly it wasn't to me. I have found an authorized dealer who says they havn't gotten theirs yet. As soon as I get the call saying they are stocked I'll post.
They pulled the phone from Tmobile Employee orders already as well.

You don't happen to live in San Antonio.
Because that's what they told me at the T-mobile store in La Cantera Mall. They apparently were suppose to receive 22 but only received 6. My brother in law got one, but I didn't and they aren't even sure when the next shipment is.
It is possible they decreased numbers in all America to increase interest.

How many evo's will be sold this weekend?

I am trying to see how many evo's were sold this past weekend? I did preorder and really like my phone. Just curious to see the numbers.... I did find this link for what it is worth... Not sure it is says much, but that was all I could find so far....
http://www.streetinsider.com/Analys...extel+(S)+Into+HTC+EVO+4G+Launch/5697680.html
ive heard between 1.5-2 mill from various sprint/shack employees
........

and two of those are mine! Just waiting for Monday morning delivery from UPS.
My guess is 600,000-750,000. I have no sources or inside knowledge, it's pure speculation on my part, but it sounds more accurate than the numbers I've seen so far in this thread.
When I was at RS getting my new phone, the regional manager from Sprint Ken, walked in and apologized in person for how long it took to get the phone activated and also said 700,000 were pre-ordered.... So not sure that was true, but I am thinking it was....
.........
+10char
My local radio shack manager said their entire company only had 10,000 phones, so 60-some thousand sounds about right.
I can't wait for my 2 to get here tomorrow...
100,000 sounds reasonable, 1 million is insanity.
Sprint stores around here sold out by mid-day Friday but some RS stores still had units by mid-day on Saturday. A RS sales rep whom I had given my phone # actually called me to see if I was still interested in buying it Saturday...
Puerto Rico can be a weird market tho. RS and BB had no accessories whatsoever too, Sprint stores had the standard stuff that Sprint stores all over the US do. I actually went by BB today to look at cases, they had Droid Incredible cases even tho Verizon left Puerto Rico around 3-4 years ago and there's no Verizon market here at all, lol.
The one sprint store I stopped by yesterday afternoon had a 30-person wait list. Take it for what it is worth.
Did you ask how many we're upgrades?

[CLOSED/G2] T-Mobile stores in my area won't sell early :(

I called a few of the T-Mobile's in Orlando and they said that they weren't allowed to sell them until the 6th. So is this selling early thing a regional thing only?

I tried calling several locations around the Orlando/Winter Park area too, and none of them were selling it early. Finally found a store in Waterford Lakes that sold it to me about an hour ago. Very happy with the phone so far.
I went to the T-Mobile store in the Brandon Mall. They told me they could not sell for upgrades until the 6th but for new accounts or if you have to add a new data plan or service to get it, they could sell it to you today.
I just called 2 T-Mobile stores here in Los Angeles and they confirmed that they are selling already.

Called 3 stores in the columbus, ohio area - none of them are selling it early. I finally was like, "no I don't wnat to be put on your waiting list, whats the motivation for htat when I can hop over to radio shack and buy it right now". Makes no sense to me WHATSOEVER why they would refuse to sell it. Unfortunately radioshack's no contract price is 550, grrr gotta wait till the 6th I guess ($499 at tmo stores).
Furthermore, Tmobile not OFFICIALLY allowing their stores to sell early is a damn joke - somehow radio shack is given the official go ahead to sell before a corporate store? What a joke!

Well radio shack isn't tmo corp. They are autherized dealers. If tmo has a date they wanna sell at that's the date they feel will give enough time to make store changes and offical shipments in to all stores. They have to change out 10k plus stores so that u get the same experience at every location and stock them all. If radio shack wants to sell early that's up to them but if the get some type of backlash from tmo for selling early is a differnt story. In the end its all marketing really. If u dnt wanna wait then pay the extra 50 bucks. Call it your convience fee heh

T-mobile stores can sell today if they have stock available. My stores didn't so I bought from radio shack. Love it so far.

They had a real working one out on display at the T-mobile here in Florida. Didnt ask about buying it though. If it was on display, you think that means theyre selling it or?
I just went to Radio Shack and got mine. The cashier had to call Tmobile customer service and the tmo rep said that this was the first retail purchase recorded. I doubt it though.

What time did u get it? I waited outside the door til they opened at 11, and was gone by 11:30, g2 in hand. My tmo store was pissed when I brought back the vibrant on day 13, lol.

haha, funny about you returning your vibrant. I returned mine also but the guys were really cool at the tmo store because they knew the G2 was a better phone than the vibrant. I happen to agree.
Just picked up a G2 at the T-Mobile store in Mountain View, CA (San Antonio Shopping Center - 510 Showers Drive) at about 3:30pm PT. They didn't say how many they had in stock, but did say mine was only the second G2 sold today.
Well, I'm thinking the Guy was ticked because he doesn't get he commission now, plus I went to the shack instead of the store. Oh well. I actually had to go to a different store to get my refund on the vibrant. He told me he couldn't do it because he didn't have the money in his drawer. Total prick about it too.

Any stores have a working demo?

Want to check out this phone in person.
None of the stores I've been to have one in stock OR for demo. Here in Schaumburg, IL (suburb of Chicago), no carriers in the Woodfield mall had it, in Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago, none of the T-Mobile shops have, ... Walmart, Best Buy, etc.
Everyone is saying it isn't even released, and the date they tell me varies from 26-28 of June.

Does anyone really believe they will have them on the 28th?? I'd love to believe that, but I'm losing faith.
All these "negatives" from the Chicagoland area peeps are getting me worried. Well, here's to (at latest) the 28th... Will wait until then to freak.
While were in Chicago suburbs mode.... the Gurnee area doesn't have any either.... but my pre order from the Gurnee mills at&t store came in Saturday

Bought two blue phones from the Gurnee Best Buy today. No pre-order. They have one more but it's a pre-ordered phone. I might be returning the second one to the Vernon Hills store.
T-mobile has it on display. Dont know if all tmos have it thou. Call in!
You're welcome!

Where can you find an S3 display/demo model in the US?

Do carrier stores or retailers have any variant yet?
Search.
I read that July 1st is sprints date

Louisiana, Lake Charles T-Mobile
Just as an FYI, I went into T-Mobile in Lake Charles, LA and they had a demo unit there. Of course, the CSRs were playing around with it, so I doubt it has much relax time at all.
I'm with AT&T, but this has at least allowed me to have my hands-on time, so now I will be more comfortable ordering it online if I have to. Also, I do like the blue/purple color.
the_buzz_man
The T-Mobile store I picked up my new SIM cards from yesterday had a display model that was being oogled by the staff there as well.
I saw one at the tmobile store yesterday but they were borrowing around the people that was interested to get it, sprint usually had two models to display but that won't happened till July 1st, ATT and Verizon too but you have to make sure you go to a corporate store

A rep in nyc told me that the T-Mobile store on 34th street had a demo. I haven't personally investigated.
No Sprint store in nyc has a demo as of noon, Thursday.
I would think that the Samsung Center by Columbus Circle would have a few, but I seldom go north of 23rd st so I don't know.
