Plastic-Dipped my Battery Back - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

lol, I'm a whore with this stuff. It's mostly on my car. I decided to try it on my battery back. The outcome is nice because it's a lot more grippy. The kicker is if it doesn't come out right or whatever it peels off and has the characteristics of Balloon rubber.

looks nice n sleek
care to share the procedure to do this?

I like. Where can you get this done ?

All you need is a Can of Plastic-Dip that you can get at your local hardware store in the paint section (Ace, HomeDepot, and Lowes). Put some newspaper down, clean the battery cover (for prep), spray (about 5in. away from the piece), and wait about 30 min. to an hr. between coats. If it doesn't take well, peel away as shown.

Looks nice! But doesn't this plastic-dipped back cover smell a little bit "unpleasantly"?

Nope, goes away.
It was a material originally for grips like if the original rubber came of this would replace it.

Modded Rhinoskin case

I bought a rhinoskin a while ago, but just didnt like the size of the thumb opening. Also, the small slit over the screen didnt allow you to see the all the important info.
This is what it was like.

However, like I said, didn't like the buttons. So I brought out my trusty dremmel and started making a mess.
Once a little wet sanding was conducted afterward, I decided I needed to dry it off, quick. So what better than to put it in the oven. However, I forgot it was in there. By the time I got it out, the neoprene foam was sitting on the bottom of the oven.
No real problem, it was still sticky, so I got some foam at a hobby store, and cut it to size, making just enough space for my WIFI card. Then only a little paint and clear coat, and you get what you see below.

May seem like a simple/silly thread to some but seeing this, this morning has sold me on the GS3. Thats just from phones sitting in people's pockets. My 3D's bezel is bent 10 ways from hell too. I even had to take the bezel off, bend it "straight", and glue it back on myself. For such an expensive item that is used 24/7/365. I guess its the nature of the aluminum beast. You could always bend it back into place but I expect some better build quality IMO.
Pluuuusssss. Maybe it is just me but it seems that the more "mature" crowd is over on this side. I ask questions here. I get quick straight forward answers. Not a bunch of childish replies/comments.
Cant wait for these to show up in brick and mortars soon!

Has anyone Found a back cover for this device ?

I got one of these..
I yet can't find a back cover for this.
Only thing i have found are stupid pouches.
If anyone comes across a back cover please post a link, cause the back looks made of very soft plastic one drop and it will get scratched.
Thank you
Backcase found it!!! not quite sure its worth it
Amzer-Pudding-TPU-Case-Black in fommy site
I found a compatible cover.
This is for the micromax A1 ( the other Android One phone we have).
Works perfect though the camera hole look's funny.
It's a Bit Covered but functionality is not hindered

Cheap hotplate for broken screen repair

Haven't seen it used anywhere before so thought I would post it up. Couldn't justify buying a hot plate for one screen repair, and heat guns just seem a bit temperamental.
...How can I heat my screen evenly to 100DegC and melt the LOCA???
Lightbulb moment - A double boiler!!
Big pot full of water with another empty pot sitting on top. Water can only boil at or around 100degC (depending on how far above sea level you are).
Worked great, nice and cheap and no chance of burning the LCD. Used a playing card to separate the glass from the LCD.

Opening Tab

Got tired of the pain when opening the yoga book. Also doubles as a camera cover.

Great idea..how did you do it?
Took a piece of duck tape, stick half the length of the tape to the screen bezel then the part that sticks out fold that so the sticky side sticks to each other and becomes the pull tab.

Nice! Thanks for this nice mod you came up with. I was also looking for a way to make it easier to open up, now looks like we have a solution!
Definitely. Thanks
