New to XDA :p

Hello all i am new to the forum and i just upgraded to Atrix from the the Samsung Galaxy I7500 which did ok, but was slow. Anyway i was wondering if anyone could give me advice on what rom i should use and which is the best and how to do it I have heard that devs are still trying to unlock the boot loader. My Atrix is bought from BELL.
This kind of thread always gets closed.
Theres only three psuedo roms for the Atrix right now, and I don't think any of them are compatible with BELL Atrix.
The bootloader hasnt been unlocked/bypassed yet, so hold on tightly. I'm not sure if the BELL Atrix can flash the 2.22.11(Not sure on the number) update, which has a variety of driver updates, etc. You should research more in the development thread.
Hope I've guided you in the right direction.
Oh sorry I should read the rules sorry, please close this thread thanks i will start searching.
Thanks

quick question guys...

i almost picked up a xoom last night from 1saleday, but i keep reading about non us variants being shipped out from various retailers. searched through the forums here and i see all these model numbers, but im not sure which is the us version (can get ics?). found another one im interested in and heres what it says..
Brand Motorola
Model MZ604
MPN MOTOROLAXOOMMZ60432BLACK
Carrier Not Applicable
UPC 723755000018
im assuming this is the us version? let me know! thanks guys!
I could be mistaken but I think all the WiFi models can be flashed to the US images hosted at the Motorola dev site....
Putting "any" on the US version upgrade path. Then again....you can also flash any number of the dev community ICS roms as well.

thanks bro. found this "Build HWI69 for US Retail" at this page http://developer.motorola.com/products/software/?pubid=987654 under "MZ604 - XOOM WITH WI-FI", so i assume what youre saying is right. if someone else can confirm this is correct, ill be joining you guys over here shortly LOL
The mz604 is the wingray aka us wifi only if for some odd reason it has a different country os on it u can absolutely flash the US version on it
happy flashing

[Q] Need help -- Should I Root or OTA update first?

hello everyone,
I have a Galaxy S4 sgh-i1337M with Fido in CAanda. I would like to Root and enjoy my phone as it should be.
Before doing anything, I checked for software update on the phone in settings, and there is one that is 100.01 MB. Looking up that size, I think it has something to do with this number (my modem version??):
I337MUMUFNK1 -- which comes up when I search google for an update of that size which is OTA and for my phone.
Samsung and Fido and Google say to call the 'others' as they do not know what this update is for. WTF! Nobody knows what the update is for??
------------------------------------------
My phone info:
I am on 4.4.2
SGH-I337M locked to Fido in Canada
BASEBAND: I337MVLUFNE1
KERNEL VERSION: 3.4.0-1529758
[email protected] #1
BUILD: KOT49H.I337MVLUFNE1
------------------------------------------
The baseband seems to be what the update will modify??? (ignore this if its dumb)
MY QUESTION:
Should I root the way it is now and disregard the latest update?
Should I update the phone now, as I won't be able to receive OTA updates in the future and then Root? (I know I can always do whatever I want after rooting.....
it would still make sense to do this update now, then root as its just easier that way).
Thank you in advance to everyone who knows the answer to this and responds!
Hello
Nobody knows?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Please standby while we have your thread/question moved to the appropriate sub-forum for your device.
For future reference you can find your device sub-forum here (bookmark/subscribe this):
AT&T, Canadian Bell, Rogers, Telus, Virgin Samsung Galaxy S 4
Within that section you will find a dedicated q&a sub-forum (this is where your thread is going to be moved to):
AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
PS. In future please be patient and wait a bit longer than two hours for somebody to answer your query. Thanks
SOLVED
Hi,
I posted this the night before...this is a repost after it seemed to go missing.....
Anyways... was hoping for a quicker response than 2 days so far! Lol
I went ahead and did it...no more question.
P.s. I am with Fido in Canada...is there no sub forum for that to have placed the question in?
Now to see if this forum has a sticky for latest how to root a specific device...fingers crossed:fingers-crossed:

The device sections are for the phones themselves, not the carrier that you're with, so the section that this thread has been moved to, and today I provided links for, is the correct section for this phone.

[q] help please!

I rooted my phone and thought that factory resetting it would un-root it so I could download the 5.0 lollipop update, but I was wrong and got it looked at my friend. He said to come on here. My problem is that it boots up and it just goes to the screen that comes on right before the Verizon logo which says, "Samsung Galaxy S5; custom (unlocked lock below it); powered by android". After it boots to there, it doesn't go any further. It's just stuck at that screen and won't change. What's wrong with it? :crying:
Model # : SM-G900V
SKU : SMG900VZKV
FCC ID : A3LSMG900V
If you need any other information, ask me anything that would help you fix my phone!!
The only thing I could direct you to do is download your stock from sammobile.com and flash it with Odin... Also remove your imei from the post... People can tinker with it and its not needed in any shape or form to fix your issue good luck!

On any forum you go on not just XDA "help please!" is NOT a reasonable or logical topic title.
Topic titles are supposed to give a brief description of the subject matter, not just a silly generic "help please!". Using proper titles means you get more views and thus potentially more/better help. A lot of people simply skip these type of titled topics when browsing forum.
Please use come common sense for future topics.

Xt1684 xt1685 uk

Hi guys and gals
Any information on functionality of this model after unlocking bootloader, flashing TWRP and choice of rom.
Why I posted was to check that whoever reads this post can be assured of at least getting the same experience of the stock OS, but with all the goodies that come with Oreo, preferably 64bit version.
One thing I have noticed is that download links tend to have a specific model ie pixel experience shows xt1686 on androidfilehost.
So any information regarding UK only model can be kept in one place, if anyone has spent any time reading the G5plus forums its a right mess between the different models, and the same questions and answers are going around again and again, so for us if having one Country specific post can help any confusion, great in my book.
Any non UK owners, please do not clutter up this thread, suggest you create your own model/country specific new post.
Regards
Ray
I've only just got my xt1685, so haven't rooted yet.
I want to use android pay so need to read up on that first.
I've also have a G3 and I prosume this will be the same and any regnal version for a G5 plus will work.
