Link zoom/popup browser - Galaxy Tab 2 General

Not sure if this was mentioned before but I noticed that on some links, a little popup zooms the links so I am able to select a link much easier without having to pinch zoom the entire page. Just don't know how or what triggers it as I would like to use it more often, very useful feature.

You must be talking about the Chrome beta. When the links are too close together (horizontally mostly) the bubble will pop up. The feature still needs more refinement though, IMHO.

Oh is that it? I thought it was a tablet feature. It's a great feature if they can implement this throughout.
Thanks for the quick response. I've been trying to google this with no luck.

What web browser do you use?

Hey guys, I use Opera mobile web browser and I love how simple it is and how it looks. However, I noticed how several websites are cramped to only one side making it almost impossible to browse normally.
I have tried Dolphine browser but there is just too much in and and when I swipe side to side instead of the page, the side bars pop up. It gets really annoying.
I wanted to see what you guys general use for web browsing.

Stock browser is perfect for me. Nice and simple. I love it.

I use Dolphin Browser, though I know what you mean about the sidebar. I've found that if you scroll up/down first, then to the side, the sidebar doesn't show up as often.
I was using firefox but I switched back to the stock browser.the stock one runs much smoother.
Used Dolphin for the longest but just went back to stock. Like the simple clean interface and the side to side scrolling on dolphin just started to drive me nuts.
Stock. Tried Opera and Dolphin but went back to stock.

If you never use the side bars in Dolphin, you can disable the swiping side to side action in the settings. It helps make Dolphin more usable.
I'm using Dolphin HD, although I do find navigating around a page to be buggy sometimes.

Using Oprah mobile, You have a chance to receive free gifts, Oprah just gave out xbox kinet to her viewers.
Haha, didn't even see that spelling mistake! Silly me.
Funny thing, I never truely used the stock web browser. And the dolphin sidebars are the biggest pain in the butt!

I also use dolphin and have disabled the side bars because they drive me nuts. I'm a fan of the tabs which I find a great feature that isn't on stock.
Yeah, I love the tabs but I prefer the way it is on opera mini, plus opera is really nice and simple.

i do. skyfire rocks, and can watch most flash content with it.
Skyfire. So far it's my favorite but I'll be interested in trying firefox once it's a bit further along.
I have tried out several with the notification bar hide feature because of the screen burn in issues. For me dolphin hd can be really slow. Anybody that's using it without issues change any of the settings to get it to run properly?

Anyone else annoyed BY chrome's constant refreshing?

I hate how it ALWAYS refreshes. Every time I leave the app then come right back to it, it just refreshes everything. Ugh.
I fap to the porn forums on Tapatalk 2
I haven't really noticed. The lag when it accessing the bookmarks is painful though...
Yup really annoys me. Especially when you go to type something in and it refreshes and doesn't include what you just typed.

Chrome sucks. Get xscope 7. It is what chrome should have been
Even when going back to a previous viewed page in chrome it refreshes. Very annoying and totally kills the browsing experience.

I use to love Xscope (Amazon free app). Decided to buy it since it is now JB which Amazon won't upgrade to. It's real nice UI... but still isn't as good as it is on my Galaxy Player (GB). On my Player ANY mobile site will pinch zoom. On the N7, no mobile site seems to pinch zoom. This means "text" and "zoom" levels have to be "perfect" and changed quite often (since all sites seem to have different text sizes). I may start using Desktop mode, but I really like many mobile sites. Chrome works great. I was hoping the updated Xscope would be its replacement. Good thing it was $3 of my free $25!
PS: I never noticed a refresh in Chrome.

the android(aosp) browser, not chrome, doesnt refresh. and plays flash just fine, btw.
I've noticed that when I open several links in other tabs, when I get to the tabs they are blank and load or refresh the page once I switch to the tab.
I am not having this problem, in fact I was just viewing three pages simultaneously (switching between them) while on Skype and no reloading :S and while typing this I switched over to chrome and all 3 tabs still loaded.. :/

New firefox browser = smoothest browser?

Past Firefox has sucked hardcore, but now, wow. Its smooth, no chopping zooming out either, it reminds me of the stock galaxy s2 with the bounce effect.
Try it out. Tell me I am wrong
What browser is smoother in your opinion
I'll give it a try, thanks

The address bar doesn't scroll away when your scroll down webpages, it takes up too much of the screen real-estate.

Dolphin is good in writing, but too unreliable. Tabs didn't load a lot of the time it didn't even show up at all. Had to keep changing the current from desktop to phone just so i could post messages on different sites....the list goes on.
Any way to back up the bookmarks like Dolphin? I installed it when the stock browser was fc-ing on bookmarks and found the import/export feature makes life easier.
People should really give boat browser a chance. Very good speedy browser! :good:
completely agree with boat browser. I don't understand, why is it so low profile, I have tried other popular ones like Opera, Dolphin (& mini), stock, etc, but Boat seems to be the best of the lot
I think dolphin browser hd is really good along with stock s3 browser.

Anyways the only thanks I am giving is to the one who presented us with the new version being out. Thanks OP!
By the way flash is still available for us

For Firefox and Chrome, try loading engadget's desktop site. While loading, try scrolling down. You will see a lot blank white and takes sometime for it to load. Stock loads much faster.

How to get my imstagram app up in the rankings

Hi everyone. I have just published an app to the playstore. What it does is that you sign In with you instagram account pick a photo then I put it on a T-shirt and deliver it to the customer.
Problem is that when you type in instagram in the search my app is quite far down the list so therefore quite hard to see.
I've tried different keywords changing the title, description and even category but none of them seem to be moving it further up.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Maybe try uploading to this website in the appropriate section of course. I'd put it on at least a few more websites like App brain. You could also put a video on YouTube on how to use the app even if it's very simple. Things like his could get your app to used by more people. This is just an idea as I've never developed an application but it's worth a try I guess. Good luck!

[Q][POLL]Which browser do you use?

Don't think this has been made yet... Hope it's okay!
Which browser? Why?
I use AOSP right now because it feels quicker than Chrome, but I miss my bookmarks.
Boat browser, because it has flash support!

Next browser. It feels a tiny bit faster than the Chrome browser + I like it's Icon
Chrome Beta because it's gestures to change tabs is good and sync to chrome on desktop function is useful!

I recently read that in the AOSP browser, all the saved data is in plaintext. Switched to chrome after that.
Maybe im a bit paranoid, but thats ok
A. Chrome because of the syncing.
B. Can I install the old stock browser on unrooted android? I don't use it much but Id like it back for the, even if limited, flash support.

Habit Browser. It has a lot of features. (e.g. changing tabs with gesture, quick menues, flash support etc.)
I have chrome of course, opera, Firefox, and Dolphin. I like to use all of them. I have to say I really like the gesture bookmarks in Dolphin. That one may be the one I use most currently. But I am testing a lot of them.

I don't follow what you are saying. Any app that stores passwords locally even encrypted with a key is not secure on rooted devices since all they need is the encryption key. My guess is Google does this on purpose since obfuscation would just make people think it is secure without it actually being secure.

(logic dictates that) An app that stores passwords with an encryption key would not make that key easily available to other apps. Maybe im wrong and even encryption stored passwords are easily accessed. Makes me all the more thankful for PDroid.
Chrome of course! Simple and fast. I like stock browser too. Tried next browser and I really liked it. For simplicity, speed, and just everyday surfing chrome for me hands down!
