did you already reboot? And the widget also doesn't work on dzo ICS.
But it's the orginal app I backuped from my 2.3
edit: just saw in your sign you work with ICS

Is your friend on on stock? if not what rom is he running? Is everything disappearing from his home screens? (shortcuts and widgets) What launcher is he using?
This was a known problem... it's one of the installed apps that makes the homescreen blank out. I'm sorry I don't have any more details because this happened to me ages ago lol.

Does anyone know where I can get the Stock Gingerbread News and Weather Widget? I flashed cm7 butt the gapps I'm using doesn't contain the widget

Where's my stock calendar app?

I ota upgraded to jellybean yesterday and rooted...and i don't have a calendar app! The apk is in system/app but i can't install it, it errors

What sucks though is the ics version of the calendar had a better widget. Not sure why they got rid of the month view..

I think that widget was a Motorola customization. The new widget is just like the one on the Nexus 7. I assume Motorola did away with the customization. I liked the ICS widget better too.

I'm running widget locker for the lock screen and the asus weather widget. The weather widget will let you select a location.

I'm using beautiful widgets, has good lock screen / 'daydream' mode animations.
HD Widgets has a nice one.

I Agree, if you are running Android 4.2 lockscreen, HD Widgets has some real nice ones.
