you should have done a reset mate thats why you got bootloop. thats the only bad thing when flashing the stock you need to fulll wipe before
how about if i restore stock kernel then i reinstall gdx rom+fullwipe but its still get bootloop.
have you try this before??

i have tryed all ways and always works for me. theres nothing wrong with the stock kernel its 100% fine. maybe its something your doing wrong ? after flashing custom kernel. flash stock then asoon as you see "sony ericsson" tap the back button and it will go into xrecovery. then do a full wipe then install whatever rom you want to install or restore a backup

i cant understand, i rebooted to CWN then full wipe then power off then flashed stock kernel and still got bootloop:S
it also depends on ur rom. if u are still using a rom that require custom kernel after u flash stock kernel, it will bootloop.
for example, u are using mini cm by nAa with custom kernel, then u flash stock kernel while still using minicm by nAa, so u will enter bootloop.
what i usually do, while still in nAa minicm (example) n using custom kernel, i usually flash another rom that use stock kernel for example ( gingerxperia v18),then i turn off the phone, flash stock kernel, then im done

Did you make a backup of stock rom before installing wolfs rom ? If you have, just restore it

i installed wolfs rom like a year before.. so now i dont have the any restore available
now i cant even get back to recovery anymore..
so i think seus is the only option

Have no idea.. but it should have worked with seus.. what kernel are you on ? And baseband ?

When you pick a phone in seus, there is 2 versions of the phone right? Have you tried them both?
Edit: when you try to update what does seus say? If its " you have the latest and no need to update " or something there should be an " reinstall" button or something..
And one thing more.. have you considered flashing doomkernel?

I'm just uploading the stock Rogers 2.3.3 firmware for the X10 now - it'll be slowly uploaded, but I'll have a link for you come morning.

This is a zipped FTF file that you flash your phone using Flashtool (search for it). That'll get you back to the stock kernel, stock firmware, stock everything (except bootloader - if it's already unlocked, it won't re-lock it. You gotta do that yourself).
there should really be 2 versions of the phone in the drop down list in SEUS.. or maybe in the new "SONY" PC Companion.. try selecting the 1 u have n using repair in case it says your phone is already up to date..
and in case ur bl is not unlocked and u want to unlock it, try this:

Did you have any success with this? I am having the exact same issue.
I am trying to revert my phone back to stock Rogers branded 2.3.
I have tried to use SEUS and PC Companion, neither one lets me "repair" Each time it just says that I have the latest updates.

To see if you have unlocked bootloader or not you need to use the s1tool.
Just search the forums for it

Ive tried flashing this with cwm and xrecovery. Even though it does perform it in recovery. Neither of them changed the files in my phone. I Checked them when I turned it on. I even tried to move them with rom manager and it froze. Im using gingerxperia v22 with stock kernel. Can someone help figure out what Im doing wrong please?

Tried with minicm9 3.0.2, not working... What happens is that no images are displayed on screen after the kernel boot animation, only back light. Pressing the lock button does turn off the backlight though.

Like I told you in the pm. Use clockwork mod and flash the file I linked you to in my message. Then use z4root to unroot and uninstall z4root. That's all.
The stock rom I linked you to has stock recovery in it.

Weird. When I first installed z4root on my stock dell 2.2,there was an unroot option as well. The links I've posted in my thread about stock roms have stock recoveries in them. Dono bout root though.

i use cm7.2 burgerz 29 feb with beats and new adreno libs and bravia engine.
and its awesome for me and my other rom is cm9 coldfusion which is getting better day by day
i have installed z4root 1.3.0 and doing permanent root but when i install adfree from market and open it it says no root access.
plzz help to resolve this issue
i also tried temporary root but it is also not properly working.
is this ver. correct or some other version should be used. plz give me link of a version.
There have been some people facing issues with z4root.
Guess you'll have to root it via adb

No its fine now just make a nandroid and flash your favorite ROM don't forget to wipe everything I mean data and cache partition.

it has a bug if u leave your wifi on then the phone doesn't sleep and battery drains.
otherwise its awesome.
or else use 29 feb

as you all know i was working on a kernel with 400mg system partiton but i didnt had the enough experience in building kernels so i tried doing it a new way
as you know arc s has 400mg system partiton and i saw that we can flash arc s ftf on our play and it will work
ok heres what you have to do step by step
1-install flashtool and its drivers
2-download arc s ftf from here (thanks to @zohaib0001 for his link): http://d-h.st/cyw
3- now install this ftf on your play by doing these setting before flashing:
1-all wipes should be checked
2-only exclude base band
3- no final vertification should be check
4-now simply flash it on your play
5-after flashing install a kernel with unmodified partition on your play(even before booting or anything else)
6-now flash a rom on your play and enjoy 400mg system partiton
important: your kernel should have unmodified partition or you will lose 400mg system partition
red: this mod wont work on this kernel
green: this kernel will work(tested by myself)
blue: this kernel will work but not tested by anyone
purple: this kernel will work(tested by one of the users)

I've tested DoomLord's ICS v3 kernel and it worked
Size of partitions is:
System: 400MB
Data: 420MB
Cache: 100MB
Question: Is stock kernel from Play's firmware having partition layout? Can it be done on locked bootloader?
no it doesn't have have any modified partiton so you can even use this on stock-rom and kernel
but its not necessary because gb roms need less than 200mg system partiton but it will give them a little more data partition
i will add everything about partitions soon
edit: but you have to flash the kernel only not the whole ftf file as you will lose this mod by doing that
Unfortunately for cdma users this guide won't work for us as we can't flash other partitions to my knowledge

this kernel and doomlord ics are best kernels for porting ics roms now

but 2 things are still not tested
1-cdma support
2-lupus ics/gb with cm9 support(as this kernel is not updated to latest version and v6 has too many performance problem i dont recommend to use this kernel even if it works completely with this mod)
also the green color that i used for the tested kernel was unreadable so i changed it with a new color
maybe @Bakisha can do it on lupus v13 JB as he did it ICS..without any mod like that..seems to cause lost of signal and other minor bugs on play..
you wont get any problem because if you do it as i said your baseband will be the old one and the only changed thing will be system(that will be changed again) and partition layout

if that kernel doesnt have changed partiton (and i think it doesnt have that ) you can do it but im not sure about that ftf

yes it is LT18i ftf.. my cousin has arc s and I downloaded this for him
I don't know about Kernels in detail.. so im not sure about Changed Partition .. does someone else know !
