Stock Recovery.img - Transformer TF300T General

HI all
TF300T ICS STOCK RECOVERY.IMG is here
repack from .17 US BLOB file.

How do you flash this, I'm locked and seems there is no stock recovery. All I get is Android laying on his back with red triangle. Any ideas?
TerrorCandii Gaming uses ASUS/Samsung.

If I'm not mistaken, that red triangled Android is the stock recovery

Cute, so no recovery unless I unlock and flash one...or was that sarcasm I sensed?
TerrorCandii Gaming uses ASUS/Samsung.

Nope, not sarcasm.

Same thing happened to me after installing rom manager on a locked device. I knew there was no hope for a custom rom but at the time i was thinking i could at least backup (wrong). I ended up unlocking and flashing TWRP as a solution. Probably not the only way to skin the cat though.

I don't have rom manager, it just doesn't load a recovery. Does this mean I bought it with a bad recovery?
TerrorCandii Gaming uses ASUS/Samsung.

Is recovery in stock tf300t? How i can get to it? I was looking for this but i cant find any posibility.

The android with the ! IS stock recovery.
No need to unlock if you're rooted, just flash through the staging partition.
Should be:
Code:
su (grant root)
dd if=/sdcard/recoveryblob (or wherever you put the recoveryblob extracted from stock .zip) of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 (or 'staging')
reboot
Enjoy recovery.

No useful recovery, all it flashes is ASUS stock blobs/.zip
I don't even think adb works right. -_-

No. If you already unlocked the bootloader you need to flash a custom recovery. I use clock work mod since I'm used to it from my phone.
Do not use ROM Manager to flash CWM, because it will flash the Prime's one and you'll find yourself in big trouble.

First you need to unlock the bootloader, Google it and you'll find a .apk from Asus.
After that, you can follow this tutorial to flash CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668173

Thanks. But i dont want to unlock bootloader for now.
I must sey that stock recovery (original/locked bootloader) cant flash asus rom! I tried but i always got bot and red triangle. I needed to use wolf's method (thanks him). Strange...
PS. I tried several sd cards, .zip files and only .blop files.

nothing to worry about, if you use TWRP
that's what I use for recovery

[Q] Correct me if I am wrong (rooting and installing ROM)

Hello,
I'm new to this forum and to Android OS in general. I bought Ideos X5 last month and I would like to root it and install the new ROM on it. So this is my understandig of the way I can do this.
First I have to root the phone with Super Boot (program used in one of the tutorials) and raplacing the boot.img with the (boot.u8800-modaco-superboot-r1) - found on modaco forum.
Then I have to put on the ClockworkMod by replacing recovery.img.
I backup* the phone in ClockworkMod and wipe all the data. And the last In the CM I choose the zip of my ROM.
So... I hope i get it. I have few more questions. If I use *backup* in CM it will return my phone to the ROM it was when the backup was done.
Is is neccesary to update firmware and why is good to do so?
Which is the best ROM to use?
Thank you!
You don't need to root.
Just put clockwork in and backup and install new ROM.

Exactly. Use PerfectBoot from here.
So this is the first thing to do, no rooting necessary. I suggest you try out Oxygen, and Miui (they both come prerooted). Why? They are based on Android 2.3.5, which has a much better battery life than the Huawei-ROMs and is much faster at the same time.
Is there any risk to brick my phone?
As long as you have CWM installed.. whatever happens you can always restore the files.. bricking it.. would be very hard.

Question in wrong place

Is there an easy way to get something VERY close to stock final ICS but with root and cwm?
I'm not a fan of custom kernels and custom roms.

if you are unlocked to don't have to keep the custom kernel. you can just hotboot the kernel, flash the zip and then reboot and it will be like you never flashed the kernel but you will be rooted.

You need fastboot.exe. If you have it then first download the SuperUser zip file from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24825517&postcount=105
And put it on your SD card.
Then download any kernel that has CWM support. There is one here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24826349&postcount=110
Then put your phone into fastboot mode (turn it off then plug it in while holding the Back button - the LED will turn BLUE - if it doesn't then try plugging in while holding the MENU button instead, I can never remember which one it is).
Then copy the kernel to your device like this:
fastboot boot recoveryARC.img
Your device will reboot - when the SONY logo goes bright start spamming the VOLUME DOWN button to enter Recovery.
Then flash the SuperUser.zip file from your SD card. Unplug the phone, reboot and you have root access. You should then head to Google Play and download Busybox Installer and install the latest release.
Good luck.
Isn't this the naff Chinese leaked build? Not the final one?
I think i'll wait for the dust to settle, too much hacking and failure stories right now, along with "fluff" from leaked betas and prereleases and lt15i owners trying to get stuff working.
This is the final release. I love it FWIW.
However, installing it was a PITA - I bricked my device three times before I got it right using Flashtool. But it's worth it - I've been running the beta since it was released and the performance of the final release is MUCH better.
Plus they seem to have supercharged the launcher - I'm only getting a redraw if I've been running a heavy game (Temple Run for example). The beta version would reload the launcher a lot.
There will be a new version of Flashtool that will allow the official FTF to be flashed without all the hassle - might be worth waiting for. The issue is with changing the partition table or something.
only fastboot doomkernel
then install su by recovery
then flash stock kernel by flash tool & exclude all other option
and reboot

Does your recovery support the Google api version in the Rom?
Have you tried any other roms?

You're running cwm 1.3.4 this is an HC only recovery -
You're trying to flash a JB rom so you will definitely need the unlocked bootloader and one of the recovery's that come with it
Once you get that sorted you'll be all good!!!

Youll need the drivers from the android sdk too..theres a mini sdk zip in the cpuid guide, bottom of the first post. Instructions to set those up are in that post as well
Dowload the apxflash manager tool, its the easiest way to install the bootloader and retrieves your cpuid too...at the first screen choose 'bundle market' option and then bundle number 17.... Also choose option to dump and save your 'bct' when u get to that screen.
If u follow things carefully youll have no probs
Good luck

How to return Oppo find 5 back to stock

Hi I just received my Oppo find 5 and before I root I wanted to know if there was any way if all goes wrong to return Oppo find 5 back to stock. Thanks in advance.

It's very easy. Just flash the stock ROM. If you need to go back to stock recovery too, there's a thread in the oppo forums that has a link to it, out you could just make a backup in recovery and save the boot.img on your computer and flash it using fastboot. This phone is a lot like a nexus and is easy to root and return to stock.
