So I went into a TMO store...

And started bragging. As you do when you have a N1, and your phone is better than anyone else's. Surprisingly, some people actually had N1's. So I had some decent conversations with the staff, told them some stuff, hung out.
and, APPARENTLY, I attracted the attention of the Store Manager, who came up
to me and said, "Who do you work for?"
When I told him I didn't work for anyone, he pretty much offered me a job.
I think I could live working with phones. =D

I work for Costco Wholesale.
I visit the cellphone kiosk daily to chat with the guys there. I tell them the latest cool app I'v got. The latest ROM I'm running. Who is Cyanogen. etc. etc.
I've helped them sell more Android™ phones than they would have on their own.
Their manager offered me a job.
After I asked him if they can match what I currently earn at Costco as a cashier ... he smiled and said NO, he couldn't.
I'm almost at $19/hr.
I still visit daily to shoot the ****. They're a good bunch of guys.

I am not an 'elitist nazi' nor am I cocky as I sounded at the first post.
In all actuality, the 'bragging' was me talking to a guy about the pros and cons
of unlocking/rooting, and discussing various ROMs, and then I was helping a girl
decide NOT to buy LauncherPro Plus (She was going to buy it for the facebook
widget, in the hopes that it would better notifications [because, being honest,
the facebook app is horrid with notifications. Unless someone knows something
I don't?] but I explained it was just a widget and not an app.)
So yeah.
I thought it was awesome.
I guess being a engadget nerd pays off =D

lol holy **** just noticed your location is fort worth. i frequented that costco often over the past few years. i just gained a lot more respect for their cashiers (and of course their totally awesome and cheap hot dogs).

Well, I'm big on saving people money, and she was only buying for the facebook widget, in which she was convinced that it was a standalone app. She wants a facebook app that notifies her with the same speed as emails and text notifications.

The name of the tablet also seems to be photoshopped onto the Xoom... It might be a scam or just a very cheap knock-off from Shenzhen. Either way, I am still waiting for my 25% Xoom

Sad part is, I was investigating this for my buddy around the time you guys were making off like bandits. He sidetracked me from my normal XDA browsing time!

I want one...I love my Xoom but this other thing has the ability to "access various types of flies, whatever the source". Take that Motorola!

Looks like a pic from a beta version of the XOOM. My opinion, you're better off spending your money on 500 fortune cookies and playing the lottery with the numbers on the back.

I can't say 100% but I think it is a scam...I mean even knock-offs don't look 100% the same as the original.

Atrix Trade In

If I want to trade in my Atrix for a Nexus S or something that CAN ACTUALLY RUN LIVE WALLPAPER, what is the best way to do it? I've had this thing for over 30 days.

- Purpose of this tread is not to complain about LWP. That's why its called "Atrix Trade In" and asks "what is the best way to go about trading in an Atrix." For purposes of this thread, it doesn't matter WHY I'm doing, just the best WAY to do it.
- I know standard ways of selling a phone. Just like you can sell anything else. I'm not an idiot. That's why I asked for the BEST way to sell the phone i.e. some exchange that I may not know about where people exchange devices etc, or potential some return program through AT&T that I may not know about.

I'm so confused. I'm using my Atrix right now, and I've definitely got a live wallpaper going right now.
Also, if you're really gonna sell it, Craigslist. I've sold a couple smart phones and plenty of music gear within 24 hours or less for a good price. Just make sure to put up pictures and your phone number, and if possible have original packaging and proof of purchase.

What the op means is he wants gingerbread, gingerbread brought along hardware acceleration. Hes going to trade his new phone because there is a tiny amount of lag in the launcher while using an ornamental wall paper. Well I am a ****, so I'll go ahead and say it, you are an impatient moron. And this is General Atrix forum. Development questions go in the Development forum. XDA, true, began as a development forum but has obviously expanded. Check the rest of the threads in this General Atrix forum - most have nothing to do with development. If anyone has mild retardation, it seems to be you, because apparently you can't read (note: illiteracy is a sign of mental retardation).
Thanks for the tip on Craig's list! I'll check that out. The lag comes in when you use a launcher with animations with LWP. LWP works, just not well enough for my tastes (I bought "the most powerful smart phone in the world" so things like this wouldn't be an issue).

The OP isn't really looking for help. This is just an attempt to take a jab at the Atrix veiled as a request for assistance.
At least that's my take on it.

The atrix general forum is filled with confused people asking for help and giving advice. There are questions about the atrix in mexico, how to enable 1080p recording, how to get better battery life. Then there is you... Asking how to trade the atrix. Just say it to yourself... How to trade the atrix...

Side track.. That's cool... I think spb mobile is pretty badass. I thought with all that hardware acceleration it would be horrible on battery but it used about as much as adw which is practically nothing.
Goes to show op, worlds most powerful phone is pretty f*cking powerful. Let the software mature, or jump ship the nexus is a great phone. Just whatever you do don't tell us

As it turns out, I'm Running MIUI right now. I just came across it an hour ago. What I like is that it has the "search" feature if you go to the leftmost screen. Try out the launcher on the thread and tell me what you think.

I just don't understand the want for this. I have used every single iPhone and haven't seen any progress with the crappyness of the OS. I can't imagine why anyone would even want to use this. Even completey stock,unthemed android looks so much better than this. It's whatever though, everybody has their own preferences as completely mind blowing as they are. I'm also a little biased because I can't stand anything that is made by Apple. I would rather have no technology at all than to use any product made by Apple.

That's odd... people normally don't even notice how big the phone is when I'm talking on it... (possibly cos it's mostly hidden by my hands ).
People do, however, notice its size if I'm using it for other stuff like messaging or browsing...
OT: I'm really happy Samsung has been pushing this phone into the mainstream so much. It's an awesome device. And it'll be even greater with all the development support that comes from being a mainstream success.

Yah I was really looking forward to it too, but was a bit disappointed. Not even a mention of the 5.3in screen, just the stylus. The ad missed the mark IMO.

I hope they do something outrageous about it like it having a dual personality, a phone and a tablet, and it falls in love with an iPhone and follow it across the country. Oh wait, they already did that.

^^^ This. If I didn't know what the ad was for (and I hadn't been following the Note for months now) I would think it was just another Android handset with that pointy stylus thing that Steve Jobs said was bad. Not a single thing special about it. Didn't feel like 90 seconds; seemed like it was over and I was still waiting for some tangible "here's why this thing is awesome" moment(s). Oh well. As the Note has done elsewhere in the world, I'm sure it'll sell itself on the merits as people start using them.

The add was lame. I was sold on the specs alone before the thing was ever announced (just rumored) ... Of course we have to remember, most people aren't nerds like us...
The downside to it's success is that, unlike the Dell Streak I'm writing this on, I wont be the only person I know who has one! When I whip out the Streak I always realize that no one has ever seen a phone like this. That is about to end...
The upside is of course that the development from this community, and the updates from Samsung should be great.
