EDIT - Check this HOX vs SGS3 - http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Sa...C-One-X_id3034
I couldnt wait to read the whole thing so i skipped to the conclusion, here is a sneek peek-
"Well, folks, it should have become clear by now that the Galaxy S III will once again rule the land of Android, at least until a better contender arrives on the scene. For now, however, the powerful HTC One X isn't capable enough to question its leadership."
and
"Once again, HTC's finest will have to play second-best to the Galaxy S phone of the year."

Samsung Galaxy S II - 9
Samsung Galaxy S I - 8.5
Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX - 8.5
HTC One X AT&T - 8.5
Apple iPhone 4S - 8.5

Hope Engadget and The Verge put their reviews up soon too

NIce final touch in the article
Samsung has once again nailed it with the Galaxy S III and HTC better sell as many of those One Xs while it still can, because the king of the Android jungle is back, and it seems to be very pissed off.

Now that is so different from what GSMArena said. :S

Gsmarena did a much more intensive test on the display and they have the charts and figures to prove it. So I believe what gsmarena said.

I liked the GSM arena review seemed more detailed . But was a good read

Ya I have always found gsmarena to be the most reliable.

thanks, good review

what changed since the hands-on ? didn't read anything new

Nice to see another review but it's not particularly extensive without ANY battery life numbers is it?

It's Phone Arena, they want the exposure for putting it out first, I prefer to wait for GSM Arena and Engadget. GSM Arena preview and tests already gives more info than this review.

That review was almost half an year ago so thats y i didnt included it, and the reason I included SGS1 n SGS2 was just to compare the galaxy series.
But I guess u r right... Nexus is also a galaxy series device... So top 4 cells are all from Galaxy series... Man galaxy series ROCKS

HTC One X has the best display in the market. I don't think anyone has ever argued against that.

Galaxy S or Nexus One?

Hello,
i need some help with the choise of my new smartphone.
I'm not sure if I should take the galaxy s because the Samsung support is very poor.
but the specifications of the galaxy s look better than the nexus one.
Can someone help my with my choise.
Thanks
p.s sry for my bad English i'm dutch
The way I see it,
If you want instantly updates of Android builds, go for the N1
If you want a super phone (better than the N1) go for the Galaxy S.
I chose the second option.

Thanks for your replay,
i like a super phone ofcourse but if they dont get any new android builds the phone will get faster than the nexus one out dated or are i wrong?
At least Samsung this time promised to update the Galaxy line to Froyo this year. Seems Droid X and Galaxy S both have the same grade CPU and memory so the main different to me at the moment is tjr screen. The Super AMOLED looks stunning, however the 4.3 inch Droid X is also great.
I'm in Asia so currently I only have Galaxy S to choose.
Although there are others say the support of Samsung are bad....

New GALAXY S Plus available for pre-order

Guys and Gals,
The much talked about ( dubbed by some as the Galaxy S3 ! ) Galaxy S Plus is now available on Amazon for pre order to be delivered next month.
It has a 1.4 Ghz processor and only 8 Gb storage with a 4" screen.
It was quite obvious that Samsung was not going to ruin the glory run of the GS2

Isn't it basically the S2 mini?
Single core? Meh.
I would say yes. It is pretty much the mini, however if the processor is not dual core, is it really the GS2 mini or an evolution of the original Galaxy ?

I'd say it's the evolution. The Galaxy S was a fantastic phone, and very popular, and it doesn't compare to the GS2. Not everyone wants this phone, I would NEVER recommend this phone to my friend who only checks facebook and updates her status and sends SMSs.
EDIT = this phone = SGS2, that's why the SGS+ sounds like a good phone for normal users
Thumbs up for the metal back, the rest is not impressive and i think it's quite overpriced
it's mini dude !

Why change the title if that's the name of the device ? I didn't believe for a second that Samsung would release a device with better specs so soon. They wouldn't want to kill SII when it's selling like hot donuts

Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), offers Ice Cream Sandwich on a seven-inch platter

Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), offers Ice Cream Sandwich on a seven-inch platter
It looks like Samsung has just taken the wraps off its latest tablet offerings, with the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) -- an ICS-laced follow-up to the company's original seven-incher. Available in both 3G and WiFi varieties, this redux doesn't mark a huge departure from its predecessor, packing a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and a 1024 x 600 LCD. The big changes, however, come in the software department, with the Galaxy Tab 2 shipping with Android 4.0 straight out of the box. Other than that, you'll find a three-megapixel rear-facing camera, a VGA shooter up front, Bluetooth capabilities, and HSPA+ connectivity. No word yet on pricing or availability, but it's worth noting that we first saw this announcement hit Samsung's RSS feed earlier this morning, and it appears to have been pulled since then. It all looks awfully official to us, but when it becomes officially official, we'll be sure to update this post accordingly. Until then, be sure to head past the break for a shot of its backside.

They're yet to mention whether this or the new Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 have the Tegra 2 chip, even if I didn't have my original Tab there's no way I'd buy it with a Tegra 2.

Really, ohhh come on Samsung why are you doing this, this is an inferior model compared to the galaxy 7.7 the only thing it has going for is ICS which the 7.7 doesn't at the moment. This is why Samsung is playing catch-up to Apple even though I deeply believe that the tabs are supperior but churning all these different models for what? Just concentrate on one single model and make it the best device available.

I would rather get the Asus transformer infinity 700.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
that would explain why samsung doesn´t upgrade the original tab to ICS
7" is good for carrying around, so 3G is a must-have feature.

should i upgrade???

i have samsung galaxy s2 international version (gt i9100), i didn't liked s3 so i didn't buy it now s4 is an announced and it will be available in few weeks should i upgrade to s4 or not??
it's a big upgrade from the galaxy s2 so if your not interested in another phone like Htc one or sony xperia Z then you should get it , i know i will
My note n7000 has some juice left in it so i will wait for a note 3 and youm technology. If its size fits me well then i will get a note. If note3 is any bigger than 5.9 i will simply downgrade to 4.99. Though i love my notes 5.3 display.

In the same boat.. Have the i9100 and skipped the S3. Debating between the S4, One and Z..
You should definitely update. S2 is yesterday's news. Which phone to upgrade to is your decision to make.
Definitely upgrade bro. The s2 is old news now. Two generations behind. I'm going to upgrade from an HTC One S.

If you are interested in the Samsung's technolog in S4, I think S4 is a great upgrade. HTC One or Sony Xperia Z are also another options, but my suggestion is choose S4 if you decide to upgrade.
What was it about the S3 that you didn't like? And what does the S4 have that makes it desirable over the S3? I'm sure if you answer this you'll have your answer.

I owned Xperia Z currently, has been using HTC flagship phones (Sensation/One X) also have S3.. I will be getting S4 for my wife haha...
I have a very bad experience with HTC after sales service.. might not be returning to HTC anymore.. The fool me twice..
Bought two flagship phone and was downgraded the flagship status after a few weeks owning it..
Tried Xperia Arc before now using Z, UI wise is not as nice as Sense and TouchWiz.. but acceptable with less rubbish...
I would definitely consider the upgrade if I was you. My wife has an s2 and the s4 is a massive upgrade.
Maybe not
I am using a HTC Sensation from 2 years ago, and I find the phone still able to meet most of my needs (except for the battery time :crying. I am not a crazy app user, but I do use some essential apps like camera, IM, evernote, forum, and occasional gaming as well. The phone is definitely slow compared with S3, Note 2, but does it bother me enough so i want to change my phone? NO.
I say unless you have heaps of extra cash that you don't care much for the cost, then upgrade; otherwise you can still get a good 1 - 2 years out of your S2 (which is a better phone than my sensations)
how about comming from an S3
Coming from S3, not really worth it IMHO. Most of the S4 software features will be coming to S3 in an update soon. But if you have a 2011 device like me, definitely worth it. It's a massive leap

coming from an S3...meh...I bet all of the gesture options could be available through hacks in the near future. So some people might not want to because it isn't that much of an improvement other than software. That being said, I'm the type of person that flocks to the best screen available. M personally, I would upgrade just because of the screen itself.

I hear ya. I have an S3, and just the other day went to T-Mobile and played with the Nexus 4. Oh man that screen is so much nicer. I don't think I'm gonna stick around with Samsung screens anymore. I'll see what the S4 is about, but if its anything remotely similar to the S3 its done. IPS LCD is so nice and bright. Makes me sad to look at my blue tinted S3, even though I'm using a custom AOSP ROM with a color fix for the screen, still not the same.
I can't decide between the S4 or HTC ONE >.<
(I currently have the Galaxy S 4g, which is like 3 generations old xP!!)
Coming from the S3 I was sure to upgrade to S4 but finaly I bought a Note2:silly:

Ya looking for note3
nexus 5 my country haven release
go for galaxy s4mini....or htc one..
Xperia Z1
SAMSUNG GALAXY Y - TOUCHWIZ
Lumia 1020
Mate it depends on your pocket.
But at all ranges these are good phones...
Entry level: Samsung galaxy trend or Nokia lumia 520
Lower mid range: Xperia M
Mid range:Xperia L or Xperia C
Upper midrange: Xperia sp or s4 mini or Nexus 4
Lower high end: Lg G pro or nexus 5(if its available in your country)
High end: Lg G2(if you are a lover of features) or xperia z1(if you care only about power) or lumia 1020(if you have a hobby of photography)
Extreme High End: Samsung Galaxy note 3(if you love art or power) + Gear (if you have immense amount in your pocket ) or iphone 5s(The future of smartphones)
For lumia's you have to compromise apps but you get altime buttry performance and best camera.
For mid range devices you have to compromise small things.
For lower midrange you have to sacrifice few things.
And finally go for entry level android if you really are fed up with your galaxy y then you will surely love it.
