I got a Big Problem with [ROM][KANG]IMM76I]
I have it install on my Wildfire after Formating it Complete.
Create a 512mb ext3 Partion on the gb2 SD-Card
I test Some apps but after install the some Google apps i still get "There is insufficient space on the device" apps aren't move to the SD-EXT
Testing S2E but it can't install the Script.
Darktremor Apps2SD Script V2.7.5.2-1 works but not complete.
Some commands not work.
but same after some apps i get again "There is insufficient space on the device"
I need the Apps on the EXT patition for Working Widgets.
Not on the Normal Fat32 Patition (Widgets Would't work)
At Today i Replaced the 2gb SD with a 32gb SDHC Card. now i have Create a 2gb ext Partition.
Maybe any has Create a Flashable zip with the Working script that S2E going to work or has an another way to Get all my apps again on my Wildfire.
With Working moving of Apps, Data and Dalvik to the EXT.
Like S2E has it do on CM7

16.) Reboot the Device and let the Rom boot.
17.) Going to Settings ---> Apps and Notice the Free Space and the Blocked Space.
18.) Start Terminal Emulator.
18a.)Write su and click on acepting
18b.)write a2sd (some Text from the Darktremor Apps2SD Script popsup)
18c.)write a2sd reinstall (this will take a bit time and the Phone Reboots)
19.) let the Rom boot again complete and the boot up takes a bit longer time
20.) Start again Terminal Emulator
20a.) Write su

That's almost exactly how I eventually got it working (apart from the reboots to recovery after each zip installation)
By the way - does anybody know why S2E seems not to work on ICS when it is, in effect, doing the same thing as the Darktremor script (admittedly with fewer options)?
Finally - I'd add a couple more steps to that if I may...

I want to extend the first partition (E to be able to put my files on the uSD. To do this, I think I have to make the unallocated space to be adjacent to partition "E:". But I can't do that: I could move the unallocated space to be before the last partition, but then I can't move it to be before the 3rd partition. I think that is because the 3rd partition is EXT3.
So, what can I do to put the unallocated space into the 1st partition (E?
Your 1st partition is your boot partition. You do not want or need to make it larger. Without changing anything else, you can stretch your data partition out to recover the 4.79GB of space. If you want to make the sdcard partition, I do not think that you can drag it backwards to recover the space. Instead, copy all of the files (107.23MB) currently on the sdcard partition somewhere, then delete the partition. That should leave you now with 6.04GB of unallocated space. Create a new sdcard partition and format as FAT32 and then copy the 107.23MB of files back.
I don't see any other easier options... does anyone else?

I tried to take the unallocated space to before the boot partition - the boot partition is the first partition, by the way - and then I tried to make a partition out of the unallocated space. For this to work, I had to convert two of the partitions to logical, and so I did.
The result is that whenever I power the nook, it doesn't work. Moreover, I tried to access the files I have put in the newly made partition, and I couldn't anything (i.e. when I open the nook without the SD-card (and then insert it after boot) and go to library, I can't access the SD-card.
The issue with accessing data on the NC won't be fixed by playing with the boot partition.
And honestly, HC is not fully functional anyway. It could very well be an issue with your ROM choice. I recommend the Mirage Kang ROM, since it has no issues whatsoever. HC affords you no benefit of user interface acceleration either.

The rest of the card is available when you plug the Nook into the USB on your computer. You'll see the USB symbol in the notification area and can activate USB sharing. In fact, both the SD card and the emmc are available. You can store and transfer whatever you want in that mode. I wouldn't make the boot partition larger because it isn't easily available to the CM7 system.
So I have installed a good amount of ROM flashes that have you do a format of delete all cache.. blah blah you know the story. There are still files left over from previously installed apps. I think actually running a format on this would be a big problem, but is there anything I can do to truely get rid of everything that was not originally part of the setup before I flash again? After my latest flash, it looked like I was using almost 16Gigs of my internal SD card. Kind of surprised at that.

The app immediately found my music files, which I did have to set it up previously to know they where on the external sd card. Also, a quick scan of the file structure, and I see .XXX folders that have names of apps that are no longer installed on this tablet.
I would have to say that this format was not a truely complete format, but please tell me I am wrong or did something wrong. I would love to get rid of all this junk and start over fresh.

The above steps only format Internal SD Card. Not Ext SD Card. Many apps keep info on Ext SD. There is an option to format Ext Sd Card, however, unless you really wish this, I would advise against it, unless you really want to clean everything. This includes all recovery backups. Most people, pull the card, copy their recovery folder and format from PC. Just to have backups.
You should understand the partitioning structure in android before messing with advanced features in CWM though.

That would be in the process preparing to flash a new rom, correct? I am guessing this because it sounds like that will erase the data I also wish to have on the tablet.
I flashed my HD2 with MIUI 2.3.7 some time ago, but now I'm constantly getting low internal storage errors. One thing I didn't do when I flashed this ROM was repartition the SD card (and I think this ROM has A2SD built in?). So I know that might probably help getting rid of the errors.
But when I checked the phone's internal memory, I saw "200 MB used - 18 MB free". So that's a total of 218MB internal memory? I'm pretty sure I'm missing at least 200Mb there.
I have another HD2 here (running AmeriCanAndroid from SD) so I checked its internal memory under "About Phone". On the HD2 with ACA, it says it has a total of 411MB internal memory. On the HD2 with MIUI, it says it has a total internal memory of 217MB. So where's the missing 194MB?
I read somewhere that the phone probably has a wrong "ClockworkMod Recovery partition layout" and that for MIUI, it needs a "150MB Partition Layout". The article didn't actually explain what those things are or how to set it up.
So, is that indeed what's going on here (any way to check)? And if so, how can I change my phone to this "150MB Partition Layout?"

Like I said, it was quite a while ago when I flashed this ROM so I can't remember what I did when I did. But looking at my HD2 folder on my PC, I probably *did* use a 150MB ClockWorkMod recovery partition size. Also, I *did* create a 1GB ext partition on my SD Card for A2SD.
So why am I getting the "low internal storage" errors?
Many possibilities, could be the ext partition not being recognized, not in proper format...
The script may not be working (?). And you're never going to get the whole 512MB of your ROM. I think it's maximum 400, give or take. so about 400 - 150 you're left with about 250 .. I don't know where that 50 went (maybe it is not actually 400? or maybe you set a slightly larger partition).
I also never believed in a2sd, always datatoext. Your best bet is to back up your apps using titanium (or similar apps), check the partitions, and reflash ROM + a different script; that is because you can't flash a script while having been used the rom. (or you can try your luck).

I second that, app2sd is not reliable to get more memory available.
Lack of internal storage is due to a incorrect system partition. It has nothing to do with your ext4 partition, since you're not running NativeSD.
DataOnEXT is your best option. Backup your app data and flash a ROM from start with DataOnExt option.
Be sure to make your system size large enough.
Create an ext4 partition on your sd of 1 to 2 GB for app storage.

Flash your rom on nand (without dataonext) then flash Cronmod(you must have ext4 partition, 1gb is good)
On clk 1.5 you can easily change partition sizes without computer

Yes, it is. But the script you're using is useless. Use DataOnExt instead.
WARNING: You need to do a fresh install, so make a backup beforehand.
I tried DataOnExt and I can't get it to work. It keeps giving me force close errors on almost every app/widget and when I reboot my phone, all my widgets loose their settings.

Try a different ROM, and increase your /system size to 285MB or 300-350MB if you have badblocks.

You can't dirty flash it, you need a fresh install. If you do a dirty one, everything will force close.

I second this, NativeSD can be great.
The only few cons I know of, is that NAND is a tad bit more responsive (even with highclass SD cards), battery life is shorter than if you only were to use NAND and your SD card will wear out quicker.
Other than that, it's basically superious to NAND.
Okay so I've already got a WP7.8 rom installed then reset the phone and entered magldr then split up the partitions properly to be ready for android, then just in case I created an ext4 partition (3 partitions now), butttt now suddenly my card reader won't detect the fat32 for android and in "OTHER" threads about a rom and given "SOME" directions "PEOPLE" won't answer me and just drop off the face of the earth leaving me hanging, THANKS A LOT REAL HELPFUL, so what do I do next also how do I access the ext4 partition in windows to place the recovery files...
Never successfully done this when I originally had a hd2, now that I got one again I wanna try and successfully do this, so all steps and help is appreciated, but please don't just post a link and say follow the steps, cause then I'll have to keep track of and follow 2 more threads and who said what where, so if anything post the proper steps here, that's why this thread is titled starting fresh, cause well lets see most of the tutorials are a few years old on top of it all too.

the second is ext4
the third is your wp7 partition
all set to primary
the second screen setup shows up on pc because the first partition is the only one windows can see.
the sd recovery folder is put on the fat32 partition, not the ext4 one, along with your android rom.zip
you then use magldr ad sd dir to select the recovery folder, and boot ad sd.
People have lives other than on xda, it is holiday period too.

I got a pretty successful duality going right now, AlphaLion WP7.8 and MIUI JellyBean 2.8.24 even extended data.ext4 to 1.05Gb's with Toporesizer...
Second part being what I was talking about and missing all along the simple copy, paste, set and boot type's of rom's.

If you are using data.ext4, then you are using the sd build (all on fat32), therefore no need for the ext4 partition. If you have created the ext4 partition, i would suggest you install the sd recovery and flash the nativeSD rom. it is sometimes better to re-format the ext4 partition from recovery before flashing, since minitool formatting of ext4 can give problems for some people.

I have installed TWRP and done a system root. I suspect there are ROMs, backups and temporary files somewhere that shouldn't be necessary and can be deleted. Can anyone help me remove unnecessary files? On my device i have Total Commander and TWRP.
edit: in fact im pretty sure i made a backup of the 'external' SD with TWRP before i rooted my device. It was a whopping 8GB, containing games that shouldnt have been backed up. Maybe that is still lingering somewhere on the device. I'd like to make a new backup without the unnecessary garbage, or simply move the backup to my external SD.

For a start, I'd recommend making a thorough backup of the INternal storage - you'll need to decide what's worth keeping & what's worth getting rid of: things like personal contacts, text messages, emails, photos, music, videos & similar are worth backing up. You could use something like Huawei's HiSuite for this, as it'll be easy to restore these later when required. What's not worth backing up are apps you installed & their corresponding data (unless you need them for a specific purpose). Downloaded roms & other downloaded stuff can be manually backed-up to the external SD card (with cut + paste after connecting the phone via USB to a PC or similar).
Then, if you'd really like to start from a blank state, in TWRP go to the Wipe section & wipe these after selecting them: Dalvik Cache, Cache, Data, Internal Storage & Custom Storage (do not select System or your phone will not work after rebooting, & do not select External Storage unless you'd like to wipe the SD card as well). This will clear absolutely everything & one cannot realistically get the space occupied by a working phone any lower than this (unless you installed a 'slimmer' custom rom) - but only do this once you've carried out the above backups.
When you reboot the phone for the first time after the clear out, have a look in the HiSuite program to see how much space is occupied by a fresh phone - you're likely to be pleasantly surprised. Then you can begin to restore personal stuff that's very important, & reinstall & update all necessary apps only to keep it as slim as possible. Everything else can remain on the external card or backed up to a PC or similar if the external card is running out of space.

What you seem to have done is simply backed-up the external SD card to itself, which isn't really necessary. One usually only makes full TWRP 'nandroid' backups of the INternal storage (boot, system & data partitions) so one has a complete system backup to restore should anything go wrong. But I can understand if this isn't desirable in your case, as it will only restore all the 'rubbish' / unneeded stuff as well. So, my suggestion would be to trim it down the best you can (as explained above), then take a TWRP nandroid internal backup & copy this backup to a PC to save space on the SD card & for safekeeping.
Thanks for the instructions. I followed them and i now have 3,5 GB free. This is after restoring apps, so it's a pretty good result. Also good i backed up even my external apps because the device didn't automatically find them.
Also, gonna try that app suggestion to see if there's anything especially bloaty.
