Well I just bought an Asus transformer at best buy but my question was if it was really worth it or should I waited for the prime?

Look at this way.
Original Asus Transformer - Entry Level with more features then most other tablets
Asus Transformer Prime - High Spec Level - More powerful, plays 1080p, slimmer, better looking.
Then decide what you want to do with it and if the advantages of the Prime are worth the extra cost.
I own the original Transformer and it does everything I need it for so I'm happy to wait a few months after the release of the Prime before I consider changing.
But if money is no object and you can wait another month then I recommend you wait for the Prime.
Money is definately a factor and as for the features on the prime the only thing I was very amazed by was the speed with its quad core Tegra 3 thingy
If I had the money before buying the transformer I would definatley wait but I only had 400 dollars and I really needed a tablet or laptop because I recently sold my netbook which was freaking slow (that's why I sold it)
So in conclusion I might wait a few months maybe 5 months to upgrade and right now I'm looking for a cheap docking station because freaking best buy still has them at 150 dollars

It's not really an extra cost !! the Prime costs 32GB for $500 and 64GB for $600 !! Same as the old one except that there's no 16GB !!
I would've chosen the Prime... I bought my Transformer 5 Months ago and I feel like It's already outdated !! the new one is so much better !!
The thing is... I haven't had one bit of lag on my Transformer. And its not even OCd, its stock. Its perfectly fast.
And its going to be getting ICS, and the update after that too probably!
Also, you can already find reports of the speed of Tegra 3 being massively disapointing, not as fast as a quadcore should be. Whereas the transformer is faster than it should be in my opinion. Also, apart from being slimmer and lighter, the keyboard has the same layout, not inproved in my book, annoying!
I will be waiting for the next one anyway!

If I recall, same thing happened with Tegra 2. "Software not optimized" and so on.
Regardless of that, I agree with post #2, it depends on your "level" desired.
It's like buying a Nexus S or a Galaxy NX, or maybe from SGSII and Galaxy NX
If you have more than enough with the TF101 16GB then you chose correctly (I'm on the same situation)
I hate to bring this up but perfect analogy is iPhone 4 vs 4S in my opinion.

I based my decision on the fact that most reviewers found that the tegra 3 was somewhat disappointing with most saying it was not always even noticeable as far as speed was concerned. the only lag i notice on it is due to honeycomb and not the tablet's hardware. The custom roms seemed to have improved that to an extent. I have an almost fully working version of ICS on my g2 and judging based on that version I would say that ICS will really improve the lag issues and general experience of it. Of course ICS on the prime will probably really improve it as well but Im happy with my transformer it does everything pretty well and i am rarely frustrated with it.

The Transformer 1 does everything that I need it to do, including providing the best screen on any tablet/laptop right now (aside from the expensive IPS Thinkpad Tablet).
I got mine with keyboard for $350 CDN. The Prime with keyboard, even if available, will be more than double that amount. I'd rather spend the extra $350 on necessities.

I bet that it will be quite awhile before Android takes full advantage of quad-cores. By then, we will have much faster tablets anyway. For those who have the money, the Prime is a great upgrade, but for most of us, we don't need 4 cores or the extra GPU power. I don't play intense games on my tablet. I find controlling the touch interface too much of a hassle.

Going into this review my biggest question was does Android and the general software experience benefit at all from the extra cores and power? I soon learned that the answer to that isn’t that cut and dry. While Nvidia says the general UI and OS should feel faster, I have only found that to be the case some of the time. While you can see in the video that swipes across homescreens are swifter, the waiting that frequently occurs when opening menus or toggling between apps on Honeycomb tablets isn’t completely gone. I also didn’t notice much of a difference when it came to multitasking — it didn’t have a problem running multiple apps, but I didn’t notice a speed increase between the Prime and the original Transformer under heavy loads.

Also battery life was shorter
So a big update on the battery life. On our standard test with brightness set at 65 percent and power saving mode switched on, the tablet lasted six hours and five minutes — exactly an hour longer than when it was set to normal mode. Still, that's an hour shorter than the original Transformer

As you can see i think it is generally an OS related problem right now than anything else. All that being said I couldn't justify the 200 dollars more for it.
The Prime is more elegant and definitely more powerful. But it is not a huge step and the Transformer 1 will get all Ice cream sandwich benefits also (probably including some speed/ smoothness improvements).
I find it a bit disappointing that there is no 16GB Prime for a lower Price but I will stick to my TF101 anyway (of course I'd switch to the Prime if someone gave it to me for free), but I'll rather wait for the next generation with higher resolutions and maybe more RAM (or Android Jellybean...)

If you want a rooted tablet, then the PRIME is not for you..bootloader is locked, apparently. So, despite hardware limitations, I am glad to have chosen the TF101 over the prime.
Hey everyone, I heard that the transformer prime is supposed to have way more battery life, like 3hrs more, than the tf101. Is this true? Because that would be the only reason whether or not I would buy it??? Someone tell me the truth.
I just got a TF101 as well and learning today that the Prime's booloader is locked made me really happy I didn't fork out the extra cash.
My TF101 was so easy to root I couldn't believe it - the only device I've rooted before is my HTC Desire Z which was a lot more hazzle.

I would also want to know if this "feature" is true. It has been sad that it is because a 5th low voltage core (600MHz I think) does your background stuff, like when you have it on idle.
I also have this decision to make. 1st prime is still not available in stores in my country, but I wonder if the prime is worth the extra cash. I'm thinking like this for now prime is more cool, more powerfull, better battery, more expensive and have some troubles with wireless antenas (someone please talk about these problems, how bad is it?). For cool, it lasts few time I think, after a while, you will want to play with it rather than admiring his looks. Powerfull, dont think I'll need the extra juice, battery - Strong pro point, poor wireless reception - Strong con point

also check the prime TF700T, it was thought to fix the wireless antennas problem among other improvements (e.g. higher res screen), but will be more expensive, starting at 599$
I am looking to buy a Galaxy Tab 2. I had the Nook Tablet and loved the size but wanted a tablet that was an actual tablet. I ended up buying the new ipad but things were tight and ended up having to sell it.
I want another tablet and love the size, speed, and battery life.I was playing with it at Best Buy and noticed that you can only use the entire screen in landscape mode. Are there any custom roms that fix this. Also, is everyone pretty happy with your GT2? I have an iphone and I love it. But I miss having an android device that I can customize and mess with. Just wanna make sure this is the right one. I think for the price, you can't miss!

I love mine. Right now I am using the new 10.1 right now. I started with the 7in thinking I wouldn't want it to big. I then went to the 8.9 and yet again wanted bigger one. Plus it was nice the tab 2 10.1 came out as the same price as the 8.9. I bought mine at micro center; they had it for $249 which is 50 cheaper than best buy. Anyway yes Samsung pretty much owns the market. I loved all my galaxy tablets. Hope this helps and good luck.
I am loving my Tab 2 7.0. In fact, I have purchased several Android tablets looking for that right one, and I think I have deduced that none are really iPad killers, but the Tab 2 7.0 comes as close to being the ideal Android Tablet there is. I like it so much that I will more than likely sell my Xoom Wifi, and perhaps Transformer Prime and pick up the Tab 2 10.1.
PROS: size and feel, battery life it great (I charge about every other day with moderate us - now if you streamed video constantly, I would say you would charge every day). Speed is very nice. Browsing with no lag - very zippy. GPS works great. I have a 7" car mount and use it for Navigation and it works great. Good sound from the dual speakers (at least for this size of tablet). Screen is sharp. It has a power saving mode available in the settings that may extend your battery life a bit.
CONS: Of course, Touchwiz, but it sounds like you would customize, anyway. I just put Apex Launcher on it for now (I have no plans to root it and flash custom ROM at this time). The automatic brightness setting is almost always too dim for my tastes. This sounds wierd, but it is the hardest tablet to clean that I own - the screen is very "slimy" for lack of a better term. I can take microfiber cloths to any of my other tablets, and will little effort have them mirror shined, but it takes work on the Tab 2 7.0 - everything just smears really bad. Never experienced this before with a tablet. The last con is the backing - though it looks cool, the plastic is hard and slick - prone to scratches and dropping as it can slide out of your hands.
You have another option in the Kindle Fire. Head over to the Kindle Fire Development thread and check out some of the wonderful ROMS available there - I use GedeROM 1.55. If times are tight, you can pick up a Fire for next to nothing, root it and have a nearly pure ICS experience on it. I actually like the Fire's form factor better than the Tab 2 7.0. Cons of course are no Bluetooth, GPS, or Camera - which may be a killer for most. I would consider it the ultimate secondary cheap tablet to play with.

You may want to look at the Asus Prime line or the Acer Iconia Line. The development section on the Tab 2 is pitiful. There are only 2 ROMs available. Acer is about to release their A700 which will make the Tab 2 look like a toy. And the Asus line is really starting to get interesting. I bought the Tab 2 for my son, bought the 7" from Costco and when I got home it was the 10.1 inch. So I'll keep it but until the development increases for this tablet you may want to look elsewhere.
I suggest that the OP heads over to the Prime XDA forums before investing into any Asus tablet. Six months with mine has been nothing but disappointments. I simply cannot and will not recommend Asus to anyone. Any correspondence with them is further reason to avoid. They are going to have to have English based support to penetrate the US market further. If not phone, then at least someone to translate their support site and email correspondence for them. I recently had an owner survey from them and it was embarrassing.
Again, it is up to the OP to research, however and determine their own view.

I have been using the tab2 lite rom/kernel.I tried all the others and just think it is great.I have it oc'd to 1.35 and the tab is so fast.Its not that I dont like the other roms they are great and I appreciate everything everyones doing for tab2...just think I will run this rom till something better comes along.....MIUI maybe?

I use setcpu to over clock all of my devices. The app is cheap but in actuality is very polished and does its job well.
I also removed both for my own reasons (I like a very simplistic look). I would recommend finding the ROM you like, and backing it up and then trying a bunch of different mods.

I have an gtab 2 10.1 and i have to say that its amazing. Its smooth, has a nice display, good music boxes for a tablet and the battery life is awesome. ( 28 h with intensive use of wifi games and some youtube vids.)
The only thing thats bad about this tablet is the camera, but i think... ITS A TABLET! NOT A CANON EOS!
A little pro for you is the support of the users here in xda

Be cautious when considering the Asus. I bought a new Transformer Prime 64GB, mainly because it seemed to be rated high and was cutting edge. It never worked right. Twice I had to send it to Texas for "repair", the first time when it was only a few days old. Asus has them locked and the unlocking app doesn't work for many, so there's no way to load CWM or a custom ROM. While just under the return window I sent mine back to Amazon for a refund and ordered the 10.1 Tab 2. It may not be cutting edge, but Samsung stuff is solid and there's a lot of support. You might also want to spend some time reading the threads here on XDA about the Asus before you decide. I wish I did. Just my two cents!
I had the 8gb nexus 7 and loved it but not enough storage for me. I have the Gtab 2 7.0 with a 32gb SD card and am very happy with my purchase. If storage isn't an issue for you I would go with the nexus 7.

Agreed. I've gone through a couple phases with my Tab 2 7" thus far. I was initially a bit disappointed in it as the screen and performance weren't quite as crisp as my Galaxy S2 phone. But after more day-to-day use and comparing it with the hacked Nook Color I'd been using previously it's really started to grow on me and I quite like it now, especially given the price. But if I had to buy new right now I'd probably opt for a 16GB Nexus 7. The extra space provided by an external storage card on my Tab is largely useless as far as most apps are concerned.

I got the Tab2 because it shipped with ICS, has a back camera and expandable storage. No regrets. I am not in the US so I wouldn't have been able to access all the Google services. Tab2 was a bit less ($10) than the Nexus for me.
You should search. You would see the other five threads asking the same question.

I am very happy with my Tab 2, but in the end I think the i-pad is the better choice: many more tablet apps available.

Seriously, I would do a lot of research and find local stores that have various ones on display and take some time to play with them. This is a big purchase for some of us. I kind of rushed into it and am not sure I made the best decision even though I am happy with my Tab 2. I had a Toshiba Excite 10 and it was great also with the exception that there is still not a lot of developers making apps that are compatible or support the Tegra 3 processor. And the fact that there was a glitch in the camera (which is better than the Tab 2) that caused some issues.
Good luck in you search and decision.

I'd owned iPad 2 about a year but traded it for Galaxy Tab 2 (5100) so I have experience for both devices.
iPad is absolutely unusable without JailBreak. And you can not guarantee some smart guy will make a jailbreak for new iOs version.
But it is smooth and handy and sweet and yummy. And all girls are yours (if you own Ferrari as well).
SGT2 is scarcely usable with stock Samsung rom. It's sluggish and it lives its own life and doesn't care what exactly you want to get by poking your finger into the screen. Sometimes it may make an exception and mercifully respond to your wishes. May be such an impression comes after iPad since raw android users don't experience anything like that.
Yesterday with help of comrade Endoroid I managed to flash CyanogenMod 9 to my SGT2. And you know what - it is smooth almost like iPad now but you haven't to perform all those Voodoo dance to just put a file on it. So now I have all the mighty might of android swiss knife and smoothness of near of such of Ipad.
As a summary - I would recommend you this device if you can handle flashing a custom rom and don't bother about warranty.

Got my GTab 2 since yesterday. It ran only 1 minute stock (to copy CM9 and gapps on flash) . Now I'm running CM 9 RC2 - CM10 4.1 is in progress by codeworkx. It's so smooth :fingers-crossed: ! Love it! Only thing is, that dock features like audio/hdmi over dock connector aren't supported yet.
I've read in many threads that the build quality of the Nexus 7 is not very good. Asus tried to build it so that it would be easy to tear down and replace parts, and in order to do that, they did not use any glue to hold in the screen. This may been nice for the repair department, but it sucks for the average user constantly getting a loose screen (eventually causing damage to the screen).

Hmm.. and one more thing. It looks like the screen has yet another problem with "ghosting" images.

Oh and also it seems that Tegra 3 chips have a severe "flickering" problem with the display.

There is a hardware problem that affects the flickering in the display. When the brightness level is turned down, the IPS panel is affected when the broadcom WiFi chip receives data. So, if you want to use the internet and turn down the brightness, you will get (from what other people say) severe flickering on the screen. Sounds annoying.
I got myself the galaxy tab 2 and overall well i will say for stock rom it does ok if you are doing light work (surfing,and music) although you do see the screen or tapping of screen lag when you are running more things. However overall rather stable for android os 4.0.3. i think there is an update to 4.0.4 but i guess i will stick with 4.0.3 a while longer before moving on to custom roms.

NO! Don't buy Galaxy Tab 2, I suggest you to buy an Asus Transformer Pad than Gtab 2 because some reasons:
1. It's cheaper
2. It's using NVIDIA Tegra 2 GPU (Transformer) which run graphics very smoothly than Gtab 2 which only powered by PowerVR
3. Asus Transformer's dock is very usable, your tab can transformed into a netbook
4. The dock could extend the battery of the tab up to 6-10 hours as I know
5. The widget and live wallpaper is pretty cool and awesome B)
6. Asus built in apps is very usable too
And the last...
7. It's have good specs for gaming
But I just suggest you and you've still consider which is the best for you

You should install this rom,if you like stock roms. Very nice indeed. Remove the bloatware,install some sort of app that stop apps from starting on their own, and you will see a nice improvement.

Got my note and rooted it in less than 30 min and now I think I'm exchanging it for an Asus that is giving me a good deal. I noticed my firmware is li3.. I have n8013.. where can I find the Odin firmware.. I've only found the lh2.. or does it not matter? Has anyone been successful returning it back to stock with untripped counter? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I love everything about the note but the screen kills it.. and for 150 dollars less the Asus seems to be the better deal. Anybody want to give me some opinions on this. Still trying to make up my mind. Its really tough.

Wait, the tf300 has about the same size screen as the 10.1 (1280x800). If you want the 1920x1200 screen you need to get the tf700 infinity.

Yes it has the same but its 150 dollars back in my pocket..I'm a lil bummed that there are others tablets for the same price with much better resolution. I have a note 2.. and things look better on it than the 10.1... basically I just want some Input on whether its better to save 150 and go with Asus or stick with the 10.1..

I have the tf300 and when I got the note 10.1 it was not a contest. The note is obviously more responsive. The tf300 has a couple of good roms available and Asus is the best with updates. But I keep the note with me and the wife has the tf300. It might not be that big of an issue to you since you have note II.

The processor and ram alone makes it better then that Asus....
The note is way better than the ASUS tf300. The software and interface is better. The Note is faster and more responsive. I chose the Note over the tf700 for the same reason. I owned a Transformer tf101 for the last year and have played with the 300 and 700 extensively. Once I started playing with the Note it was over. I think the screen is quite nice, definitely better than tf101. II've only owned the Note for 2 days but I've been very impressed so far.
The note is by far the best. I had tf201 and tf700. Played with the 300 and it felt like a prime with better Wi-Fi. The note however beats them all hands down all around the block. Sure Asus updates quicker but they feel slower and stutter more. Not to mention you can kiss your warranty goodbye for Asus for custom roms.
Bottom line stick with the note.

I don't know why people are impressed with lots of updates....
Seems to me that someone who updates continuously is doing so because there are major problems with their OS... Look at windows, updates for vista were made everyday but with windows seven there are a lot less.
Just because updates are pushed by Asus doesn't mean its a better tablet, just that it is probably buggier and they're trying to play catchup...
The Note 10.1, though not perfect, was a very stable tablet from the day I powered it up for the first time. JB may be a long time coming but at least it should be a good, stable rom that is pushed out.
Is the note really worth the $450 even if you have no plans on using the s pen.
I played with one for a couple of minutes in bestbuy on Wednesday but couldn't get over the price point especially since i don't see myself using the s pen, worse now that the tf300 is $300 for the 32gb model.
My biggest need is a really good, quick, responsive web browsing experience. It seems like the tegra 3 is not equipped to offer me what I need but im not sure if the exynos can handle it either.

I agree. But this is not why I'm considering it. Apart from the pen and touchwiz I feel like its about the same. Sure less ram but for 300 dollars it seams like a no brainer value. The note is quick I'll give it that and I'm starting to like it more and more but at times I feel like my note 2 has so much more to offer with the s pen, multiwindow jelly bean out the box. I thought the note 10 would be just as good. I can't even hover scroll with the pen like I do with the pen on the note 2.. the screen does look good but I would expect more from the price. I'll prob end up keeping this thing anyways tho.. hearing a lot of negatives about the Asus line. Even tho it seems just as good.

It really comes down to how you use your tablet IMHO. I want to use my tablet like a notebook with a pen and paper like interface, so for me the Note 10.1 was the best fit. The price difference was a factor at first when I was deciding between a tf300,tf700,nexus 10 and Note 10.1. But in the end, the most important thing for me was the user interface on how i used the device. The S-Pen and the applications like S-note, were exactly how I wanted to use a tablet device, so the price difference and even the screen resolution didn't matter nearly as much. I'd say look at how you are planning on using the device, and decide based on that first. Price is a factor but if you save 150 but don't use the device as much because you lost important features you didn't realize were important to you, then the savings weren't worth it IMHO.
I owned the tf300 for three weeks. It was purchased from BB for $269, 16G version. The tf300 was returned to BB and I pickup a note 10.1 for $459. Much more than I wanted to pay but this tablet is great.

I didn't have any problems with the bootloader unlock tool by Asus but many others did. If price is an issue then consider the nexus 10 over the tf300. Some of the issues with the tf300 have been fixed because simple tasks like downloading apps would cripple the tablet and cause the play store to force close. A few updates and a move to "Clean Rom" had everything running smooth. You wont be blown away with the note 10.1 because you have the note 2.

I have both the note 2 and the 3g note 10.1 with the jelly bean update. I love the 10.1 because it has not given me any major issues with regards to crashing etc it is super smooth with the quad core and 2gigs of Ram. Yes the display may not be as good as the newer transformers but everything else is much better in my opinion.
With the jelly bean update, it is as good as the note 2 because it contains all of its features but on a larger screen which is far more practical for professional use such as taking notes at meetings etc. The multitasking is also more meaningful on a 10.1 unless you are using the smart dock for the note 2 or connecting via an mhl cable to a larger display.
I have no regrets having both devices. If price is one of the biggest factors for you then go for the Asus otherwise stick to the note and you will not regret this decision. A number of people think initially that the pen is not going to be used that often but after putting it to practical use, they soon change their opinion about it.
I have come from the original transformer so do not notice or mind a reduction in display quality as the notes one is more than adequate and if I want true hd quality, I just connect it to a TV or projector with hd via an mhl lead or the all share cast dongle.

You get what you pay for. As someone said above, the TF300 is a de-contented Prime with better wireless which makes it over a year old both in design and components. The Note supports 5GHz dual-channel Wi-Fi with channel bonding (like the newest iPad), has BT 4.0 (the TF300 is 2.0 and the TF700 3.0), dual-channel RAM, 2GB of RAM (vs. 1GB), Glonass support for location services, two forward facing speakers, a flash for the rear camera, and a larger battery.
You specifically mentioned web browsing. All Asus tablets suffer from IO issues caused by their choice of storage solution. When there are background processes running the browser and UI can become almost unusable. There are hacks available to make things better but the device needs to be unlocked and that voids your warranty. Adding $100 for SquareTrade (unless you don't care about a warranty) puts the two devices closer in price. And multiview, even without S Pen, is a really cool feature in a 10” device.
Here's a component comparison between the TF700 (a "better" device than the TF300) and the Note. If there's a corner that can be cut, Asus will cut it. You'd be better off picking up a used Note or N10 off of eBay or CL to stay in your price range than buying a year-old new TF300.
If you had a choice would you buy the Asus TF300T again?
Personally, I maybe about to switch to the Galaxy Note 10.1 as my Asus TF300T has been sent in for RMA due to banding (something inherent in 4.2, and not an issue it turns out). Anyway, I think I may have the chance to say 'if you can't fix it, I don't want it to my retailer (UK)'.
The things I like about the tablet are:
Fast updates
Smooth (at least some of the time)
The dock
It's creak free (mostly)
The things I dislike:
Very very slow internal storage makes the tablet lag
Creaking from the left bezel
Constant force close messages (improved a bit in 4.2, but still occasionally happening due to I/O issues)
Slow web browsing (improved partially since 4.2)
Edit: Just received my tablet back and it's in a worse condition. I'm now exchanging it with my retailer for a Note 10.1.
i wouldn't cause of the screen quality... i would probably go for a nexus 10
At the price I got mine at...yeah I would.
At the price I got mine (close to 400 euros, last summer), I wouldn't buy it again now. It's a good tablet, has been serving me very well, but technology has moved on and expectations have increased.
If I HAD to buy a tablet now, I would go for something cheaper, a nexus 7 would be okay or something at that price. Very similar to the TF300 in capabilities and much cheaper.
(btw, I use my tablet mostly for educational purposes... to read books, browser the web, youtube etc)
I am waiting for the next generation of tablets where 400 euros will buy me much more than the TF300 currently offers.
Yes, I would buy it again if it was at the same price I originally bought the 32gb tablet for $299 and the blue dock for $49.
I'm very happy with the TF300T. It does everything I need it to. The great Devs we have in the section are an added bonus.

For me personally, I wouldn't buy it again because mine got give me a bit of issues when the touchscreen didn't work properly only after two weeks of having it before i teared the whole thing apart and fixed it which is still a bit wonky but i can cope with it.
But the device itself works very well but like what other have said, the technology with this tablet is a bit outdated compared to other tablet but the form factor of the tablet being able to transform to a netbook is what made me buy it.
If anything I might go with the tf700 as my next tablet or a future generation of the transformer series
I upgraded to the tf300t from a tf100 and I'm really happy with it. I don't like Android on tablets in general, I use Ubuntu mostly as it brings out the full potential, and makes it more of a netbook.
Build quailty isn't great mine scratches really easy being a white model and compared to my tf101 doesn't feel as sturdy. I previously had a samsung windows 8 hybrid tablet that cost waay more than the tf300t and the built quailty was terrible and the Intel atom processor was nothing on the performance of the tegra 3 not to mention the gpu on the tegra is about 5 times faster. I beleive the tf300 is well worth the price.
Although id proberly buy the tf700 if I had another chance.
Hmmm... Is this question asking "if you were to walk into a store today, would you buy the TF300T?" or more like "If you could go back in time, would you still buy it?"
I bought mine right after it launched. My only other real choices were the TF201, the Acer A500 (I think that was the model number; might have been the A510 or something), a Samsung Tab 2, or wait several months for the TF700. If I were to go back to that point in time, I would probably still buy it as it was the best option available.
If I were shopping for a tablet today, I would pass up the TF300T and get a Nexus 10. That's a no-brainer to me. It costs the same as I paid for my TF300T with a way better screen and dev community (not that our dev community isn't great, but let's face it; the TF300T isn't a Nexus).
No I like it but I keep running into random lag issues for no real reason just flipping through the screens it some times lock up for a second. I also don't like the size of it I can't carry it around with me. Its even large for a 10. Inch tablet I got a 10 tablet case and it wouldn't fit. I wanted to get the galaxy tab 7.7 but felt that was extreamly over priced. If I were to buy a tablet now I would either get the note 8.0 or maybe Ipad mini even though I don't really like ios but size is more important to me.

i wouldn't, keyboard is more novelty then useful for me and the tab is a bit too big for the task i use it for, i would just get a nexus 7...or something in that market
maybe if i didn't have a newer laptop and the tf300t was my main laptop then i would be singing a different tune...
I certainly wouldn't. A couple of days after creating this thread my tablet came back in a worse condition. I'm now about to exchange it for a Note 10.1
I wouldn't because I'm completly disappointed with a Tegra 3 CPU, with TF300 screen and battery. It's more likely that my next tablet will be iPad Mini or something really worthy on Android.
But I can't say this tablet is bad. It's okay but there are still some issues I really don't want to face again.

If I was to buy one today, I voted no. Back when I bought it for the price I got it for, yes. It was the best option for $280 when I bought it during the boxing week sale as no other comparable tablet was within a hundred bucks in my area.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 on friday, and can with hand on heart tell that i would never buy another Asus pad again, i have had both the Tf201, and Tf300, and they are slow in everything, compared my new Samsung

I'm very happy with my TF300T with CM10.1. Traded it for an Ipad. It was the best trade IMO.
Maybe I never had a Samsung so I don't notice the lag. The creaking from the left bezel is the only thing that annoys me.
Maybe it's just me but ... running the Tablet with CROMI 4.2.1 (4.5) with Hunds Kernel at 1.6 ghz...
For 250 $ (refurb) ... It's running flawlessly and it's fast.
Very pleased with it.

Could you describe in a little more detail why you are completely disappointed in these three areas?
Tegra 3: Not the fastest but it's a pretty decent processor. Certainly not of the slower ones out there. I think the TF300T is having some performance issues due to its sloooow internal storage (the I/O issue). Where does the Tegra 3 disappoint you?
TF300 screen: I had the chance to check out a Samsung Note 10.1. The screen looked 'better' in the sense of more color saturation and less distance between the display and the surface (not that the TF300 is bad at this). But it wasn't a huge difference. What I wish was better on the TF300, is the glass. It's not very scratch resistant. Why are you completely disappointed in the TF300 screen?
battery: I think the TF300 has a pretty standard/expected battery life. Not outstanding but not too short either. I personally charge once per day or every couple of days. Are there tablets out there with substantially better battery life? The reviews I've seen do not point to such conclusion. (Perhaps you would get an extra hour or two at best?)
