I changed very much in manifest.xml styles.xml and some others .xml on every app, quite hard to remember. I think you get all black text because you modified the holo definition tree inside framework-> check your pm

Noo! AOKP is very different from cm9 and that will mess up your system
I'm happy to see you all like the theme!

I know text is still white in

For the last week, I have been trying to modify Settings.apk (essentially I'm trying to do the same as your theme but for CM9 for Galaxy S2 to make it the same colors as Go Launcher).
Editing the res files in the apk itself works without problems, but as soon as I edit the the Android manifest to chose Holo.Light the application is not recognized anymore. I've tried to sign the apk using xdaAutoTool, APKManager, etc ... but can't get it to work.
I've been trying to read on this but unfortunately all tutorials I could find deal with simple res editing. Can you please provide a step by step?

So basically when you swich to Holo Light you have to edit the manifest.xml and also /values/styles.xml don't forget it. Change values that you want to theme to Holo.Light and after that edit your png's. That's only if you want to theme the settings, for a full theme there is alot of work inside framework-res.apk
@All I saw the theme engine is back on CM9 so be sure a theme for that will come once I get used to it. As for this version next update should have semi-transparent statusbar(to mach the lockscreen) and hopefully that black text on power menu

I've modified the Circle C with the charger icon of Circle D. Best of both worlds.

Just some googling around how to change colors in GIMP and turns out it was quite easy Same for copying the charger icon. Just a lot of work to adjust all those files but I had some spare time
On the 3rd screenshot, what are the widgets you are using (the one at the top and at the bottom)?
I've been looking to mod the GPS icon as well to show beaming rays but it doesn't seem to have a transparent background. Can you tell me where you got the original from? I'd like to make it work on backgrounds other than black.

I really like this theme! But I installed the newest version (2.2) on my Pinky 1.8 and now some apps aren't working. They are always crashing (Gmail, ASTRO, RomManager, etc). Only a reflashed to the previous version helped me.

As requested in the Pinky thread I've attached my modified Smooth Sense Icons with Mod C. Maybe keep this thread for this mod and keep the Pinky thread for Pinky stuff.

I started off wanting a minimal theme for my desire and really liked some of the flat minimal widgets available, but all the status bars had gradients and reflective icons.
So I thought I'd make my own! I packaged them so you can have the flat icons with a gradient bar or not, there is a white and black set.
All icons are original, although obviously inspired by other icon sets.

* Download the XMLs.zip and extract it to your SD card. The folder "CMTheme" should now be created and contain 4 xml files.

*Zips are not signed - ensure signature check is disabled
Choose your desired variant (flat or gradient)
Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > User interface > Tweaks extras > Select a theme.
Just remember you can only swap between gradient and flat, to change colour you need to flash the update.zip.

This is the graphite lock-screen. The only issue with this is the bars get drawn when there is an incoming call. As per this post To fix this you will need to flash this file in recovery. Took a lot of playing around with this to get it working but I think it's worth it.

I've nearly finished my first attempt at black and white status bar icons - still not 100% happy but here is a flashable flat black(no gradient) status bar and simple B&W icons for Open Desire 4.0.15.
There seems to be some issues with the Google Search Mod on my phone - I will need to tweak it a bit and post an update.

Installed the bar mod on my OpenDesire 4.0.23 ... but the bar background stays somewhat white. Shouldn't be black ? Icons on bar are fine, white and exactly as in your screenshoot. Only bar and notifications background are missing.

Make sure you haven't got the STOCK_Black theme selected. It needs to STOCK or the modified xml file as STOCK_Black reverts back to the original stock bar.

XML file is attached to first post in a zip which needs to be manual unzipped and placed in /CMTheme/ folder of SDcard.

I'm sorry, the answer is no.
I can modify and test it on the ROM i using.
u may try to flash it after a nandroid backup.
if problem exists, u may delete all apps in my pack and try one more.
I'd found some materials, so made some change on the Notification BG.
A Star with Blue Flame, that's what image of BRS is.
I also reduce the transparency from 50% to 35%.
I confirm (tried it) that this works on froyo sense 2.2 build 2.10

Need HELP!!!
As the status bar and notification pull-down bar will be resize on the landscape mode.
I tried to make a landscape PNGs and placed in /res/drawable-land-hdpi-v4 but useless. It still resize the protrait PNGs.
My status bar and notification pull-down bar are something special that I want to use a specified PNGs on landscape mode.

You have to be rooted to install these custom roms – if you are not rooted head to XDA and they should be able to help.
I can only support ROMs for the HTC Desire, however the Cyanogen(MOD) framework is very similar across the board. I believe porting to other HDPI devices is not hard and you are free to attempt this with these files.
Download the desired files to your SD Card, if you are on Cyanogen(MOD) or DeFrost you will also need to place the Colour config file “Gingerbread.xml” in /sdcard/CMTheme/
As with all flashable zips a NANDROID backup is recommended.
Flash the *.zip file either with ROM Manager or through recover as you would a ROM. You do not need to unzip these files.
Reboot the phone
If using Cyanogen(MOD) or DeFrost you will need to apply the colour theme (Settings > CyanogenMod settings > User interface > Tweaks extras > “Select Theme” > “Gingerbread”)
Enjoy your Gingerthemed Froyo
Instructions – for Metamorphs
To use the Metamorphs you need to have you desire S-Off’d and you must download Metamorph from the Market. Once you have this it’s pretty straight forward.
If you don’t have S’Off or can’t get Metamorph to work you can merge the files from a Metamorph into a theme (framework-res.apk) and then flash the theme through recovery.
I hope to write a tutorial on how to do this some time in the future.

Use the xml colour file from the blog (you need to right click and download)
You should be able to rip all the "drawable-hdpi" files with no probs.

I can't find the fix for this. I think it's in styles.xml search "panel" and remove the "inverse part", but this didn't recompile properly. I'm just using the old white menu pop-ups.

This is a more thoroughly themed file. Unfortunately I can't post screenshots as I'm not at my computer. To get the keyboard to work you might need to clear the cache of the keyboard app.

I really like this new look, however I think there are a few things wrong.
First, the notifications bar is a really dark black in 2.3 (I have looked at the pictures and tried the GingerNinja ROM) while this is more grey.
Second, the headset icon (I know that you cannot do anything about it since you only have the SDK and not the source code)
I think that's about it..
As I said, I really love this, and I greatly appreciate the effort you have made to port this! I'd love to see some more of it.

I've taken the notification bar from the SDK and various screenshots (see arstechnica for example). I can resize and grey out the headset icon which I will look at doing tomorrow.
Re: incorporating this with other lockscreens, I will try and add them all to this through morphs, but it might take a while.

Mine doesn't looke exactly like the screenshot I'm posting n image to show what i mean, on the right side is the screen shot and on the left is what mine look like, dunno if its maybe because I'm using CM power widget in notif... bar?

Looking great. For some reason the keyboard keeps force closing but it's not a problem as I was going to switch to the HTC one anyway but might be something you want to look into. On a HTC Desire with DeFrost 6.1 if it helps. Anyway, keep up with the good work, can't wait to see what it looks like once it matures (or until CM and Defrost release a 2.3 ROM )
EDIT: It appears a second Android Keyboard has been installed as 2 of them appear on my apps list, one is 168KB and the other is 304KB, the 304KB one has a version number of 2.3 so I assume that it's yours. Might see if I can find a way to uninstall the stock one.

Install Instructions: PLEASE READ!!!
1. Set MetaMorph delay to around 1000 (My exact number is 1054) then press Close
2. Press Unzip/Extract new theme
3. Navigate to where you have Minimalist_Lockscreen_Icons.zip located
4. Select the file
5. Press close on the on the pop up that appears
6. Press Apply all!
7. It WILL force close com.android.phone when it applies the Phone.apk, I do not know of any way around this.
8. While the force close pop up is on the screen, another pop up menu will appear behind the force close pop up and the buttons will say either Continue? or Stop; you must quickly press Force close on the force close pop up, then press Continue? on the other pop up menu; it will then start applying the framework-res.apk
9. The device may freeze up at this point, if it does freeze up (mine did), then wait about 30 seconds, then pull the battery and boot your phone
10. Everything should be applied now

Updated to cm_bravo_full-18.zip and cm_bravoc_full-17.zip. Fixed the "&" problem with the keyboard, also fixed the letters not showing on the popup when you hold a letter.

please make an update for the CyanogenMod 7 nightly 20. When I'm using your minimalistic theme 18 I get endless bootloops at the bootanimation.

Edit: minimalistic version 17 is running perfectly on C-Mod Version 20 ;-)
(only the batterie doesn't change, equally the lockscreen)

i guess #20 has different framework. i has endless bootloop too. Your theme is awesome!but i think just prepare for next day's build instead of #20,cuz only 12 hours or so until the next build.

yes, you're right! this theme is the best out there and I'll be waiting for the new version!

Edit: Batterie and lockscreen does't change - still the original but this can't make me sad! i love this theme.
when flashing this theme on nightly 22 it works very good, only the in-call-screen doesn't change. On the lockscreen is a white bar on top.
Updated to cm_bravo_full-23.zip and cm_bravoc_full-22.zip.
@Jamin_1, I may have forgotten to add something in, let me know what works/doesn't work in the new version.

your version 21 runs really good on the nightly 23 - only a few bugs. but I accept this for your brilliant theme.
so I test your 23 theme
bug report: i got no problems while flashing und booting after flashing yout theme. but there is still the white bar on top at the screen with the pin-entry and on the lockscreen. do you know this bug or should I send you a screenshot? the secend bug is in the standard android clock app. in landscape mode the clock is only shown half. all the other themed apps look brilliant and I can't see any more bugs (=

Your English is good and completely understandable (I live in southern California lol). I am not able to replicate either one of those bugs so if you are able to take a screen of them it would help.

The white bar occured first time at your version 20+ (when i remember right).
after reflashing c-mod nightly 23 and your theme version 23 the white bar is gone
The bug with the clock is still there from your first version.

Using build 23 with this theme. I don't have the 'white bar' on my lockscreen.
I do have the clock bug from the 2nd screen.
