[OPINION]Galaxy S3; A Huge Disappointment - Galaxy S III General

As the case with everyone else, i was super excited for the s3. After all the rumours and leaks surrounding it are to be cleared. When i first saw it, my first reaction was,"is that that the galaxy nexus fused with s ii.''
The So-Called Galaxy S III is a huge disappointment for me. Samsung teased us by saying that something big is coming, well it's certainly big - 4.8'' inch big.
Let's take a look at what i found so disappointing in S III
1. Display: 4.8" 16M-color HD (720 x 1280 pixels) Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen,
REASON - Dude Sammy, you could just use the old screen size, increasing the resolution. The 4.8'' is too big and i bet that ladies will certainly avoid it.
2. CPU: Quad-core 32nm ARM Cortex A9 1.4 GHz processor, Exynos 4212 Quad chipset
REASON - They used four cores, when they can use two. I mean instead of four Cortex A9, they can simply use tow Cortex A15 cores.
3. TouchWIZ - The pure ICS UI is so sexy, but you ruined by your crapwiz.
4. Design - It looks like a Galaxy Nexus fused with the S II.
I think that the S 3 is a huge disappointment comparing the kind of hype they built with it.

Design and cheap plastics feel let it down unfortunately for me... :-(
Sent from my GT-I9100

God awful design choice. Plastics for one + a shiny back that attracts fingerprints? Blue instead of black? Ugh
Samsung had the opportunity to really push the envelope... and instead they sat back and unveiled a disappointing "flagship"

the design is the only let down, do not say other thing as disappointments. screen and processor are the right choice. how on earth will any mobile company launch a phone with stock ics UI?

Most the tech sites are saying this pic is fake. Google has asked manufacturers to no longer use hard or capacitative buttons as ICS will use soft buttons. Not sure if thats true or not but the consensus is that this pic is not real
Highly doubt its the final product its touchwiz 4 without the changes they had to make because of the whole patent war... Doesnt make any sense... Also the picture looks shopped if check up closely.
I hope it's a fake because this phone is fugly.
fake and we don't give a ****... these GS III threads are getting stupid...
This is FUGLY
LOOKS LIKE ANY OTHER HTC PHONE (No offence but HTC phones especially the back is so disgusting...)
I really hope its fake. The design is so 2010

Tbh, that's not bad! It's just a shame there's no mention of other details, like how much storage there is and if it does support SDHC-cards. One can also see what looks like S-Pen, but I do not know if it's just for the looks or if it is actually functional.
I know several people who could actually use this phone just fine.
I can't even imagine how much of a headache it would be going phone shopping in China. We should all have that problem.
the samesung fauxlaxy clnotned?
Samesung, Nukia, and Motorolo.
Salute China.

Edit: Upon closer inspection, the first picture in the link does NOT have an S-Pen. The third seems to show one. Either way... no thanks.
Also, the flash is different between the first picture and the third... If it's more like the third then I want that back-piece!
yes, but there are two different versions, one is 5.3 the other is 5.0

Less than two weeks, that's how much you have to wait until that special Samsung Unpacked event on May 3 in London when everything will be clear to everyone who is expecting the follow-up to the insanely successful Samsung Galaxy S II.
There's been Apple-like buzz (and Cupertino-like secrecy) around the Galaxy S III but it looks like we might have a first look at what to expect. The device pictured above and the one starring in the video below is claimed to be the Galaxy S III. However, it's not the Galaxy S III you'll hold in your hand as it is encased in a dummy plastic case in order to protect its sexy looks.
You want specs? Here you go: 1.4GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 4.6-inch Super AMOLED HD display with 320 PPI, no hardware buttons (yay), eight-megapixel main camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording, 16GB internal storage (plus microSD card expansion slot), NFC, microSIM, 2,050mAh battery and Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz on top of it.
That being said, the Galaxy S III (or whatever the final name will be) is not a mystery anymore -- granted that the above leak is legit -- except for its final aspect. Check out the video below and let us know of your thoughts. HTC One X killer? Android king for a year?
For what it's worth, the original story with the pictures and video are down which adds more credibility to the entire report. However, thanks to the Internet, there's a copy floating around and more pictures at the Via link.

Nexus 4 or Galaxy S3 LTE (i9305) or Droid DNA?

I could not ordered the damn Nexus 4...so was lurking around for alternative. Today I saw new Droid DNA. It seems like a good alternative matching up everything Nexus 4 can do but has more like 440 ppi or 1080 x 1920 resolution, wifi 5ghz, and support LTE and GSM unlocked. The resolution alone kick Nexus 4, S3 LTE i9305 and iphone 5 butt already...so now I have a dilema
When comparing the Nexus 4 to DNA & S3 LTE (i9305), it seems to have true google experience only over DNA and nothing much else. All 3 are quadcore and 2GB ram.

Even though they seem to have same hardware, somehow DNA outperform Nexus 4 on benchmark...not sure why

So now, I'm thinking if I can't get Nexus 4 by end of Nov, I'm going to grab a Droid DNA instead since it is gsm unlocked. What do you guys think?
I think it might be down to the thermal throttling that everyone is posting about, wait for some Kernel development and i believe the N4 will start to hit it's stride.
I am convinced that it all has to do completely with the Linux kernel they're using. It needed a couple more weeks of development and unfortunately, it wasn't ready for prime time but I am sure that the XDA community will make it kick the competition's ass within 3-4 weeks of steady development.
As always, it's all about what you want, want the AOSP experience along with a MASSIVE (understatement of the year) development community with great, quality hardware?
I don't need to bother selling you on the Galaxy S III, it's a great phone.
or do you want the DROID DNA which will be locked down, much more expensive but in return, you get the much higher resolution screen.
You need to ask yourself, do the pros of the DROID's screen outweigh the additional $300-400 cost? For me, not at all. It's new tech and it's never good to be an early adopter with HTC (as I learned with the HTC Thunderbolt). Not to mention we've hit the point where these phones are often more powerful than most PCs and next year's focus will be 1080P displays along with battery tech meaning the next Nexus will probably be everything you want plus more.

Samsung Galaxy S III Neo+ goes official in China

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo continues its journey of leaks, the company has launched the Galaxy S III Neo+ in China.
Featuring a similar design to the Galaxy S3, the S3 Neo+ is built around a 4.8" Super AMOLED display, which rocks 720p resolution. The pixel density is 306 ppi, which is very respectable. Under the hood, there's a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU of unknown architecture - we guess it's the dated Exynos 4 Quad 4412 with four Cortex-A9 cores, but it could also be a Snapdragon 400 with Cortex-A7 processor. It's joined by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which is expandable via the microSD card slot that's on board.

Unsurprisingly, the battery cover is removable and reveals the dual SIM card slots (3G + GSM), the aforementioned microSD card slot and the 2100mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo+ weighs 132 grams and measures 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm - exactly the same as the Galaxy S3 (with the negligible difference of 1 gram in weight). At the back, there's an 8MP camera with LED flash capable of recording 1080p video.
The dual-SIM capabilities of the Galaxy S3 Neo+ include dual-standby and there's a neat manager available inside Android 4.3 Jelly Bean that handles the switching between the two. The supported WCDMA networks bands include 850/900/1900/2100 MHz, while on GSM, they're 850/900/1800/1900 MHz.
Pricing and availability aren't detailed at this point. We suspect the Galaxy S3 Neo+ will make an appearance in Chinese retail stores as well as major carriers pretty soon.
