Q) Help w/ button mapping on Alltel HTC Snap (Ozone) WM6.5 3VO - Dash 3G, Snap General

Hey there guys,
Recently purchased a NIB Alltel HTC Snap (CDMA/GSM) version, essentially an unbranded Verizon Ozone with slight button differences. Purchased it to use as a backup phone
Well, it was on Stock WM6.1. I couldn't locate an Official Alltel 6.5 update, as the Alltel Snap isn't even listed anymore on HTC Website.
In short, I hardspl'd the device and application unlocked the phone.
Then I flashed ookba's 3VO build for the Ozone (latest)
Everything was hassle free with no headaches. My phone is running great, despite the fact some of my buttons are wrong. I need to remap them.
I located this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7063824&postcount=1053
But I am unsure if this will work with my Alltel Snap or not.
I WOULD GREATLY appreciate it if someone can help me out with this mapping process
Thank you to all in advance.
PS: searched both XDA and Google extensively and could not find any clear info pertaining to my model.

Sorry I posted this in the wrong section from my phone. Would greatly appreciate it if it can be moved into the general section

getting a HTC Mogul

hi everyone,
i dont know if im in the right place, but im going to be getting the HTC mogul in a few months and noticed on ebay they had auctions for $99 with new activation, but you cant get a SERO plan. why is that and how can they sell the phones so cheap?
i noticed that most ppl in the hermes forum are using the 8525 or Wing and dont see any mogul users. is this because its harder to make roms for cdma devices or because not many have the mogul yet?
sorry for the newbie questions. thanks in advance for any help!
PS. keep up the great work everyone! ive installed and fully customized my "i phone" theme and now its a hybrid device that contains the best of WM5 and i phone. kudos guys!
hmm...
if everyone is gonna ignore this thread, can someone at least point me in the right direction? thanks.
Sorry can't help you as I have never heard of it but I did google it and there are some hits. You might try that. I have never cared for sprint or cdma phones so google is about the best I can do sorry
d
i meant if i were to get the mogul, would i be able to flash it with the hermes roms thats you can find here? i obviously wouldnt be able to use the radio files since they are all GSM, but i just wanted to do some research before i get the mogul from sprint. i noticed most ppl here have GSM phones. is this a development page strictly for GSM or would i be able to use the information found in the Hermes thread on my Mogul?
thanks in advance and keep up the great work everyone!
The mogul is a different device then the hermes (its the htc titan vs the htc tytn) it has a different cpu along with the radio (and more memory) I think flashing a hermes/tytn rom would be a very bad idea.
thanks for clearing that up for me! now...where can i get titan roms?

I am pretty sure the Wing is a new machine. But as far as I know the Mogul is a Hermes. Can anyone confirm this one way or the other?
I can confirm the Mogul is NOT a hermes.
for crying out loud...
the MOGUL IS NEW!
Its the HTC TITAN (not to be confused with the TYTN), which is a CDMA-only model, which does not directly resemble anything else HTC makes.
Its also known as the XV6800, or PPC-6800.
It is NOT the Hermes, the Tytn, or any other HTC device.
This is one of those few times the CDMA carriers get something GSM does not...
See? This is what happens when the mods decide not to dedicate a new forum for a new device... no one knows whats going on!!

Just a few quick Wizard questions.

Hello. I just purchased a Cingular 8125/Wizard from ebay. The seller says that it is SIM and CID unlocked, so it should be ready to start flashing when I get it. The question I have is, I have been looking through the ROM Thread, and have come to the conclusion that mfrazzz's XDA Mobile 6 is currently installed. (I have not received the device yet, should have it by the end of this week) Please see attached picture and tell me if I am correct.
And just one more question, to the owners of a Wizard. I currently have a Dash/Excalibur and have flashed it with many ROM's with no problem. Looking through the forums, though, it seems the Wizard is a little more complicated. To the current owners, how hard is it to flash? And do you like the functionality of the machine? Which ROM would you recommend, as I know the XDA Mobile 6 is a little old. Also, if there are any T-Mobile users that are using the Cingular 8125 on the T-Mobile network, please some pointers.
Thanks, and I look forward to modding my Wizard.
Wow, 53 viewers and not one Wizard owner. Amazing. Or could it be you're ashamed to be a Wizard owner? I'm going back to the Excalibur forums. LMAO. Just kidding. I am just asking for a little input.
**UPDATE** I just received this funky little device today. Loaded SPB Mobile Shell on it, and think I am going to keep it that way. It looks fine the way it is. Super awesome. Now if I can just learn all the buttons, bells, and whistles.
I also set it up to work with the T-Mobile network. Data, Phone, SMS, and MMS all working fine now.

telus htc hero rom?

hey guys,
is there any link where I can download the original telus rom, I tried searching forums but didnt find any links or thread. So, if anyone know how to get back to telus rom please tell
thanks.
It's not possible at the moment. Telus hasn't put out any updates to the Hero yet. Sit tight, I'm sure once HTC puts out the Eclair update, Telus will release shortly aftewards. The original Telus ROM hasn't been customized at all though, other than the Telus APN settings, so I can't see a reason why the Telus-specific ROM would be required, unless it's for warranty reasons.
Hey craig0r, just a few questions. Seems there are few Telus users rooting so its kinda hard to find a "Telus" point of view. How is MoDaCo 3.1? Are you experiecing any issues? Since we cannot go back to Telus ROM, do you have any regrets rooting or installing MoDaCo? Thanks for your input!!

The HTC Music app gets choppy through, when played through A2DP bluetooth. I think I had that problem before I rooted, but I don't remember. It's fine through headphones. That kinda sucks. I really hope it's fixed in eclair. My Vogue with WM 6.5 had no issues like this.
Other than that, I have no complaints at all, it's pretty great. I only had my phone for one day before I rooted it, mind you, so I can't really compare it to the stock ROM's experience.

Froyo 2.2 & HTC Legend

Hi,
Please forgive me as I have been searching everywhere online and on the forum for my answer.
I have a HTC Legend (Virgin) that is unlocked - Running on Rogers.
1st Question: Is this phone Rootable? I have heard yes and I have heard no, based on the firmware that it is presently running.
2nd Question: Is it possible if the phone is rooted to flash a Basic 2.2 Android Rom (I personally don't use HTC Sense)
The reason I am asking as HTC Announced that 2.2 Will not be updated until Christmas time.
And Before anyone says I should have bought the NEXUS One - The reason - THE SIZE
That phone is huge, I previously had an Xperia X10, which was TOO Big and I quite like the build quality of the Legend.
Thanks for all your Help! I Greatly Appreciate it!
Yes the phone is rootable, but you're right it depends on what version you currently have installed. Check out the android development section to figure out what you can and can't do.
Froyo at christmas is incorrect.
Htc has said all current devices will have froyo before christmas. However speculation says the legend itself should most likely have it in or around august.
Next, if you manage to root your phone you can talk a look in the android development section(again) for the legend and you will find 1 or 2 froyo roms have been ported semi successfully. They work and run but have a few minor problems.
One is the cyogen mod 6 (I probably spelled it wrong)thread.
You cannot flash a stock version of froyo to the legend, you will have to use one of these roms.
Hope I could help. I'm looking at getting the virgin mobile legend myself soon. are you happy so far?
Thanks
Thanks for your info! I was just feeling a little overwhelmed with all the info as I am not really up with all the lingo.
To answer your question about the Legend, I love it! The build quality is Superior, it just fits in your hand so nicely, and looks good there as well.
I have had MANY cell phones in the last 5 years (Well over 40...) and this is one that I know I will keep for a long time... More so than the iPhone.
Cheers.

Hey,
To be honest I took it to an Unlocking place in Vancouver, It took them aprox 20 min to complete, It still has a few Apps for Virgin/Bell on the phone however no where does it have the Virgin Logo Etc. I use the Rogers APN Settings rogers-core-appl1.apn and it works flawless with 3G
I have not been able to get 2.2 onto this phone at this point, I may just wait until it's pushed out by HTC.
This sounds GR8!
I'm waiting for my Legend to arrive any day, now...

Do You know what they did to the phone? To unlock it i mean....
I ordered Wildfire but changed my mind and changed the order to Legend...
A good choice i think...
Been using my KAISER for a looong time now and it's time for a retirement, i think
Just installed Donut Android on my KAISER but it soaks battery so i think i have to revert to WM 6.5 again....
I think i'll use it as a backup phone for some time
Does anyone know if tom tom works on Legend?
The unlock was done through the store so not quite sure on how it was completed. I have seen many websites that offer the unlock.
In regards to TomTom try the Google navigation. It's amazing. Works great and integrates with your contacts and the mapping program quite well. I find the voice to be quite rough. Hopefully they'll allow changes to that after its out is Beta.

Doesn't Google Navi go online to get positions?
Could be costly, wouldn't it
I'll try it out though
Tom Tom has the maps in map folder so no online search and so on....
regarding the unlock thingy i guess someone figures it out so we can do it ourselves
Maybe somewhat like the KAISER unlock i guess...

Where did you buy it?
I bought my legend at Virgin (349 CAD) and am running Rogers as well, to unlock it you need to purchased the unlock code from HTC by providing the phones S/N. Their are lots of places online that will provide the codes for $10-20, I haven't been able to find a free source.
Currently their is no software unlock for this phone.

Heard the n1 has already got froyo..i hope it wont be long for the legend & desire
I have the Virgin Mobile (Canada) HTC Legend and can confirm I was able to successfully unlock it for usage on Fido/Rogers. After this I upgraded the rom using a gold card to a stock HTC rom to remove the Bell/Virgin crapware.
After this I found the downgrade path to 1.31 which has successfully allowed me to have the phone rooted. Now I just need to wait for a good rom to be made with sense. So far all the roms I have tried do have their own issues like, camera problems, pinch zoom functionality...

Hey, we're not sitting on a fence just waitung for someone to post
Concerning your question- why does it have to be a stock rom?
There are cooked roms which are much better than any stock one.
Most of them do come in english.
Aside from this- if your ameo isn't cid unlocked you may not even be able
to install a stock rom even if you find one as you would need some english rom
fitting to the presumed dutch cid.
Maybe you take your time and take a look at the unlock- and romupdate related
threads you can find around here.
