can't update firmware above 2.3.3 - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hello, I can't update my 2.3.3 firmware via Kies.
My phone has: I9000XXJVO - baseband version.
What should I do to get 2.3.6 firmware ? thank you

You can only upgrade through kies for your area based on your ROM version.
If you want a newer version you are going to need to either flash a newer stock ROM through Odin or flash something like darky rom/cyanogenmod 7.
Here is a thread with instruction for latest firmwares: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
Remember that you could end up trashing you phone and your warranty by doing this.

Which firmware is latest XXJPM or XWJPD?

I see on samfirmware site those two firmware as latest but i dont now wich one i latest realy?
I try over Kies to see what is latest firmware for my mobile phone, but it says it cannot be upgraded, probably because i have XXJPF unofficial firmware.
JPC is the latest
What? How? i dont see that version.... I'll try to flash 2.1 firmware then try update over KIES. Is latest 2.1 version on samfirmware stock version?
I got JG3 version and my Kies says there is no update and this is latest one. But its like 6 months old (got it stock with brand new phone..)
It's logical....
XWJPD
XWJPM
XWJP()
A
B
C
D
.
.
.
M
So JPM is latest version
xwjpd is the latest, but its from russia (i read this in an other forum)
I think that JPM is the latest indeed.
jpm is the latest by samsung, however bojpc is the latest released/leaked firmware
Its JPM which is latest
Jpm is latest but jpf is quite good....

Official Gingerbread DBT [JVI]

The German Gingerbread Firmware rolled out via kies!
You can Download the Firmware via Kies or from samfirmware.com
- ist's 2.3.3
- more info later or at samfirmware
Why did you write that the version is 2.3.4?
I updated my phone some hours ago and it is only the 2.3.3 Version.
However i got another question. It there a way to root the JVI Kernel for now?
I've read that it is possile to flash the CF-Root JVO, but what are the differences between the JVO and JVI version?
Are there other approaches to root the current version?

firmware help

Hi
I want to downgrade my notes firmware to 2.3.5 KJ4 however when i had a look on samfirmware the oldest firmware in the UK was 2.3.6 KKA. I was wondering does the country even matter? I dont want to flash some random firmware and be screwed!
kind regards
It doesn't matter. You can flash any stock ROM.

Question about flashing Lollipop update via Odin.

I have a question guys. My Note 3 baseband version is N9005XXUGNG1 and I still don't have the lollipop update so I want to flash it via Odin. Is there a way to find which flashable version from SamMobile is for my phone, and if it is available?
And I have one more question. If I flash another baseband version firmware, what is going to happen?

Visit the below website and select your country/carrier. You will see if 5.0 is available for your country
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N9005/
Having said that, it doesn't matter which baseband you go (as long as its for n9005 and not hongkong version as its a 16gb version there), as long as your are not rooted.

[I9505] plz help with flashing original stock rom and stock kernel

So I have S4 I9505 with custom phoenix rom 4.4.2 version and kernel version [email protected]#5. I want to return my phone to official stock rom and kernel if needed.
In phone info app under firmware tab I get:
bootloader version: I9505XXUEMJ7
PDA version: I9505XXUGNJ8
CSC version: I9505OXXGNK1
Baseband version: I9505XXUEMJ7
latest firmware: I9505XXUHOJ2/I9505OLBHOH1/I9505XXUHOJ2
(so I found and download the zip file with that stock rom for I9505XXUHOJ2/I9505OLBHOH1 XME witch I plan to flash with Odin3 3.10)
under CSC CODE tab I get product code GT-I9505ZWAXME and original CSC code XME
So my questions are:
1. Am I planing to flash the correct stock rom for my telephone ?
2. Will I have to flash the official stock kernel for my phone or can I leave the one I already have? And what to flash first the stock kernel or the stock rom ?
3. Where can I find the official stock kernel for my version of S4 ?
Thx in advance

You can flash any stock rom if your phone is not carrier locked.
The stock kernel is packed with the stock rom, and so is the stock recovery. So it's basically a 3in1 package. You just have to decide which stock rom to flash.

My phone it's not carrier locked.
So basically any official stock kernel that I find I can flash and I don't need to worry about PDA,CSC and other codes. If that is so can you direct me where can I find stock kernel/recovery/rom in one package for the latest android version for S4. If any will do then its not important which really as long as it is official samsung rom
As I said, you only need the rom, the kernel and recovery come with the stock rom .zip.
You can download official roms from sammobile. Just enter your device model. After that select your country and carrier, and it will give you the latest firmware.
Problem is that sammobile has slow downloads..
Thx I will do that. There I found the first rom I mentioned in original post. But its nice to know that I can pick any rom there that I want. Sorry for my noobisam
