Kindle Fire interface and programs in Romanian (or any other language available)! - Kindle Fire General

Kindle Fire interface (stock launcher) and programs in Romanian (or any other available language)!
Actually, Amazon did not delete the Android localization as it would seem at first sight. It was just hidden. And it can be unhidden back! Here I describe how I did it.
Code:
[COLOR="Red"]Careful though!
!!!Making it in the wrong sequence or not doing it correctly might BRICK your KF!!!!
(So you do it on your own responsibility)[/COLOR]
1. Have a Rooted KF device (best done with Kindle Fire Utility - search this forum)
2. Just to be sure you don't mess things around, install TWRP and create a backup of your KF. (best done with Kindle Fire Utility - search this forum)
You can ignore this step if you are 100% sure you will not make mistakes
3. Because these 6 stock system fonts are not Unicode, and though, will not show (at all) the non Latin (non Western European) characters, you will need to replace the following fonts from KF with Unicode fonts first:
/system/fonts
LTe50259.ttf
LTe50260.ttf
LTe50261.ttf
LTe50262.ttf
LTe50872.ttf
LTe50922.ttf
The best font replacement I found is the good old Arial from Win7. It has almost all Unicode glyphs needed to show well on the screen (Greek, Cyrillic, Central European, Arabic, Hebrew...).
Just copy the 6 replacement fonts in a folder of your PC and rename them accordingly to the names of KF. Android is case sensitive, so be sure the names are EXACTLY the same. After that, copy the files on SD card of KF, and then, with Root Explorer , option Mount R/W, in the system fonts directory of KF.
7. To every of the 6 replaced files, you need to restore default R/W options and Owner, with Root Explorer, as follows:
Code:
[B]READ:[/B]
[COLOR="DarkOrange"]Owner, Group, Others[/COLOR]
[B]WRITE:[/B]
[COLOR="darkorange"]Owner[/COLOR]
--------------------
[B]OWNER:[/B]
[COLOR="darkorange"]Owner: 0 - root
Group: 0 - root[/COLOR]
[COLOR="Red"]ANY mistake at this step might brick the KF after restarting,
so please check these options twice for every file! [/COLOR]
8. Install and change the interface language to Romanian with the app from this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1404966
Thanks go to mtorres!
9. Restart KF
10. The apps that have a localization in the language you choose for the system will automatically change the interface language when you launch them.
11. Enjoy!

_____
PS: a) as the hidden localizations were not adapted for KF, some stock words might remain in English
b) a drawback is that KF Keyboard options are force closing when accessed. You can only access them when in English US/UK language. No need to restart KF when doing this though. Hope someone will find a workaround in the near future? SOLVED: you need to install ICS Keyboard (by VLLWP) from market -- the ics keyboard itself will not be accessible, but the KF menu and keyboard will be accessible instead.

Mail-Design -> SMS/Messging (Manila2D)

Good evening,
I cant write english in a good way, so have fun at reading^^
This is my solution to add the Envelope/letter do the messaging-tab.
As you can see the background of the letter in the messaging tab AND in the mail-tab were changed.
SCREENDUMPS:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Included in "Files1" (at Downloads)
Cheated solution for Bug2 (Long messages will be displayed over the envelope) - Included in "Files2" (at Downloads)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Go with an explorer to the windows directory and copy the files
hh_email_background.png
hh_email_envelope_down.png
hh_email_envelope_up.png
HTCHomeSettings.xml
to your storage card or anywhere else - THIS will be your backup, IF it doesnt work.
2. Copy the new files on your device. On the device you should copy all of the files in the windows-directory. You will be asked to overwrite the files - If you done task 1 its ok.
3. Restart Manila/Touchflo2D:
Settings -> Home -> System;
Uncheck "TouchFlo" -> Click OK;
Open the Home-Settings a second time -> System
Check "TouchFlo" -> Click OK -> Close Settings
4. There is no 4th Task, youre finished =)
BUGS:
1. If you scroll between your sms the envelope (not the letter) will slide too.
(Its the cause of replacing the line with the letter in the background)
2. Long messages will be displayed over the envelope (UNLIKE the mail-tab; the mails will be displayed correctly there)
(I made a cheated solution, with a white envelope - you can see it in the second picture)
Please notify that the home tab etc. will be changed too!
DOWNLOAD:
(I also uploaded my own created background/wallpaper) (Please dont host the files anywhre else and let the advertisement on uploaded.to opened 10 seconds):
It is VERY impossible to backup your files! (INSTRUCTIONS - Task1)
Files1 (with normal envelope + original files): http://ul.to/uh1way
Files2 (with white envelope + original files): http://ul.to/6t7fyt
Wallpaper: http://ul.to/qa18b1
PS: If you change things, like bugs etc. please post it here
Greetings
Hoamer
will this work in htc home, not manila?
Hm, i dont know. If htc-home is also based on xml-file it is possible - you can try it, but it is VERY impossible to backup your files - then you can try anything^^
If it works please post it here
EDIT: I searched for HTC-Home; no, this will not work with HTC-Home

I am very new to the android hacking community so please forgive my ignorance. But is this a program that allows you to create a boot animation for your device?

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Assuming you've rooted your device then yes.
Works lang a charm I finally modified my bootanimation using this. One thing though I made a mistake on the command prior making it work.
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/custom/resource (should be customize) How can I remove that. Btw Thanks a lot 2 thumbs up to you.
How to use (I'm stupid so i need instructions) Please
Ill change that now :L
Depending on your phone it has different locations for the bootanimation.
If you tick all the boxes then hit backup open each file until you recognized one as the one you see at the boot screen then simply overwrite that with a custom one. Keeping a backup of course incase it doesnt work properly.
very nice idea! good job!

It doesn't let you create one, but it can set one recover and backup current ones etc.
please explain more
I don't understand at all how to use it ...... :'(

[Tutorial] Switch to last Stock Rom (with gaps) from a Retailer Rom

Dear All,
Please find my first tutorial for this phone that I received today.
I took information from different site and from discussion of this forum.
The goal is to help new user and get them quicker to the result.
The idea is no to root in order to keep OTA update from leeco
I will explain how to :
Install last stock rom (in order to get future OTA update)
Install Google play store and others google apps
Make google contacts appears in "phone" menu
Install Morelocale 2 to switch in other languages than English
So Let's begin,
Install last stock rom (in order to get future OTA update)
First of all, download here the last rom :
http://bbs.le.com//zt/eui/le_max2.html
While create a leeco account following these instructions :
http://in.lemall.com/in/help/help-pid-5-id-375.html
You might find your activation link into your spams.
When the download is finished, rename the file in update.zip
Put it at the root of the phone
shut down the phone.
press the power button + volume up key to enter the upgrade interface, according to the following specific operating procedures.
Select "Use update.zip Update System" -> "Update" and "clear cache", reboot into the system
Install Google play store and others google apps
Google play is avalaible form the LeStore, you need to download from there. Type google in the search bar of leStore and you will find it :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After you have google play, you can install gmail, calender, maps, youtube...
Make google contacts appears in "phone" menu
I had the same issue than others, with the google contact inside the phone.
To make work, download and install this APK :
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-contacts-sync/google-contacts-sync-6-0-1-release/google-contacts-sync-6-0-1-android-apk-download/
After that, go to settings, App management, look for "Google contacts Sync", Permissions, and "tick" Contacts
Now it should work.
Install Morelocale 2 to switch in other languages than English
If you want other language than English, you can download morelocale from play store.
To make it your without root :
switch into developper mode :
settings, about the phone, click severals time on build number
Install Adb drivers on your computer from there : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
connect your phone in usb debug mode.
into the command line C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot\ send this adb shell pm grant jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale android.permission.CHANGE_CONFIGURATION
You will be able to change to you language.
Tips
If you need to read some chinese, use Google translate app from your previous phone, you can take picture to translate some chinese.
I hope it will help some guys.

[Guide] Chinese theme manager on Xiaomi.eu or Global ROMs

If you're frustrated with the limited access to themes and zero access to themes from Zhuti I have found a workaround which allows you to access the Chinese Theme Store on Global or Xiaomi.eu ROMs.
I am not responsible if you brick, break or otherwise bootloop your phone. If you attempt this you should have the knowledge of how to fix any issues you encounter by trying this guide.
This, in theory, will work for all devices on MIUI - but I see no MIUI general on XDA so I'm just posting it here, on my devices board.
With that out of the way, here's what you need:
An unlocked bootloader with TWRP installed
The China Developer ROM for your device
The ROM you want the Chinese theme manager on
ES File Explorer or any Root Explorer
build.prop editor
A backup of your data
Start by flashing the China Developer ROM to your device. I would wipe data here. Once you flash this you will need to open up your root explorer of choice, and copy the "/cust" folder somewhere else.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
You may now flash to your desired ROM (dirty flash is OK -- just wipe cache/dalvik), which for me was the Xiaomi.eu ROM. Ensure your new ROM has root, or root it yourself.
Install your Root File Explorer, as well as a build.prop editor. I used "BuildProp editor" from the Play Store, but any one off the Play store should do fine.
First, copy your old "cust" folder from your backups into root once again, allowing it to overwrite any identical files.
Now, using the build.prop editor you're going to be looking for 3 lines in build.prop:
ro.miui.region
ro.miui.cust_variant
ro.product.mod_device
Modify the values to be as follows:
ro.miui.region CN
ro.miui.cust_variant cn
Delete or comment out the entry "ro.product.mod_device"
Using build.prop editor, hit "select file" and open up /cust/current/cust.prop, and repeat the changes above. Once more, open up /cust/cust/eu/cust.prop and repeat the changes above.
Clear the Themes apps data, and reboot your device. At first it will show you the theme store in English - this is normal. Once you hit "agree" it downloads the Chinese store data.
The only known issue is you must buy themes through the website Zhuti and install it on your phone, because buying through the app on your phone is broken.
Aside from that I have seen no other issues by doing this. Enjoy more themes!
If you would like to vouch for this elsewhere since it is an issue I see mentioned a lot, I have posted threads on miui.com and Xiaomi.eu. Vouches on all sites are appreciated.
Hi
I manage to get themes working on global stable 7.3.7 just by goto settings - locale and set my region to China.
Some one else need to test and verify, I managed to get it work.
xiaomi.eu rom does not have locale setting

Install apps over ADB
Install apks on any Android device running any Android version over ADB!
Hi all,
From a long time i was fiddling around with a problem of installing/downloading apps after installing a new ROM.
Thus i came up with an idea of a Batch File to install all of your apks from your system
to your phone in a few tips and taps. Hah! Found my solution .
How does it look?
To see some screenshots, please click below.
Tested on
The script had been tested on Nexus 5x, Nexus 5, Moto G4 but should work on any android device.
Downloads
Google Drive - Here is the link to Drive.
Link Below - You can also find the file below.
Installation instructions
Prerequisites
1. Platform Tools for Windows (ADB),
2. APK files,
3. Target phone connected to PC and
4. A cup of COFFEE or TEA as you like it.
Process
1. Download it from the attachments below or from the drive link above or here.
2. Copy the file to the ADB folder.
3. Execute the file.
4. You can either place your apps in "D:\Apps" folder. (Sllloooowwwww.....)
ORChange the folder location in batch file itself. (Requires some Coding Skills)
ORBatch file will ask you to change the location, if required. (Easy Installation, Pick Me!)
Troubleshooting
I don't think it's needed. But even then if you get any problem do write. I'll be happy to resolve it.
Enjoy, and also don't forget to write anything (Good, Bad or Thanks etc.)!
thank you so much if works like a charm!
Been locking for something similar.
Is it possible to take that script to next level, and make it as, a list of apps, and for them to be downloaded on the phone. I mean give order through ADB for each apps step by step, instead of folder, to be downloaded.
how to add online option like google drive folder in to the script
