How did you try to root? Using ace hack kit? If so, there is an IRC for this where you can probably request for help .you can check out at the hack kit thread.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD

That happened to me too, but it booted fine after a few restarts.

What part of the root did it get stuck in? You're s-on still which sux. Can you put a img file on the sd card root

Thank you just let me know when you upload!

What ROM are you running? Or did you simply try to acquire root capabilities so far (stock)? I really recommend you do some more searching around the forum because your problem seems like just some bad luck. Also did you back up before you started the AAHK?

Well... when you used AAHK what was the rom you have?
If the phone was with official update GB 2.3.5 sense 3, the hack kit automatically DOWNGRADE the rom before attempt to root and get it S-OFF (with the last official update there's no way to success S-OFF, only root)...
Than the kit (run it twice) will perform S-OFF and root.
If the phone was with a rootable rom the hack kit SKIP the downgrade step and attempt directly to S-OFF and root the device.
So.... what exactly the situation?!
EDIT: Read this, i think could help...
Only i recommend (if you want to s-off and root your device) to use a build with a sense 2.1

I have not meet this situation。
I suppose it need temporary root permission or goldencard ?? and then DHD can find PD98IMG.zip in sdcard and automatically install it。

Try wiping your phone a few times in row also the cachs. You may have had a corrupted download so try downloading it again. Also cyanogenmod 7 is very stable but I prefer the new virtuous infinity alpha 3 ROM and don't forget to flash the inspire patch after the main ROM it fixes the camera issues as well some other buggs. I am still considered a noob but i've been around the block a few times as well flashed a few different roms with success everytime. If this still does not work reply and ill give you detailed instructs on what to do. Make it as detailed as possible. What you did start to finish. Do your homework too.

THis is an alternative way for the AAHK since it has been removed.
I'm guessing you might have done something wrong while downgrading.
Follow the guide, step by step, never skip anything, no matter how unimportant you believe it to be.
I'm sure you'll be good to go.
Good luck

Use any of the rooting methods you see, follow the step where they downgrade to 1.5 and install the patches and recovery. At this point you stand rooted.
Do not flash a new rom and you are good to go.

[Q] Attempting Root but......Main Version Older

Ok, I recently got my hands on a MT3G, no 3.5mm, and I'm trying to root it. It came with Froyo already on it (2.2.1) and as far as I understad, no one click method works for 2.2.1? Anyway I'm trying to downgrade and use the goldcard method but I keep getting the Main version is older message. I've used 3 different sappimg files but same thing. Can anyone lead me in the right direction? This is my first time trying to root
You didn't make your goldcard right. Secondly, stop flashing different sappimg.zip's or you'll possibly end up bricking your phone. Lastly, this is rumored to still be working with the 2.2.1 update. If that one doesn't work, post your fastboot info here. With the phone turned off, turn it on holding back+power and post everything you see there.
I rooted my mytouch 3g a few days ago, I used super one click, and my phone has no 3.5mm jack. all 32b phones work with super one cancel so far i know

Your problem is that you have a 28.25 radio, which is new and cyanogen doesnt support it yet, he will soon enough though. You either have to find a compatible kernel with your radio or flash this rom

I think you need to get the 1.33.0013 SPL if you are using that radio... someone may need to confirm this, but you should look info that to see if this is related...

I think you need to do that only if your PC is having problems detecting your phone. All I did was plug it in with USB debugging enabled.

How I downgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.1 and then rooted - Using XTC Clip

Just a little video I made. I signed up to XDA this morning with a unrootable Wildfire running 2.2.
That same phone is now running a rooted custom rom! Thanks guys!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMmCatsXMSY
Although this is good, people are wanting to complete the task without xtc clip due to price and individuals only needing out for a single handset.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
I know. It's a shame that I had to source an xtc clip to enable me to install something on a phone I paid £150 for...I got 2 actually for testing purposes!
I own the device yet HTC decide what I do with it? Anyway... that's for another thread.

You will still need to S-OFF your Wildfire using an XTC Clip. Else, it is pointless.
On hindsight, OP, it would be better if you add this in the main post in big bold letters, people will be be expecting DIY Software solutions here.
When it search for informations of the phone it says "connection error"
can anybody help me ??

why didnt you just flash a recovery from the bootloader? i found no need to downgrade i just went into bootloader and flashed the p4img.zip booted into recovery and flashed cm7 had it done withing 5 minuites without downgrading or rooting
People are looking for freeware software solution to root the newer wildfire. Not with an hardware solution like xtc clip.
ok. the video tutorial is fine.

and even then, now there is a better option after making s-off, as said in the previous post (except for the file name there should be PC49IMG.ZIP)
-just s-off by xtc clip
-install the clockworkmod custom recovery by PC49IMG.ZIP process (that zip file is somewhere in the forum)
-thats all. U can install any custom rom u want
Hmm, I look at this as a guide how to unlock NAND on your wildfire thread, and as that it's fine. Beside that it clearly states in the topic that xtc clip is used. So this is a XTC CLIP guide.
So those of you taking about free rooting, would you please take your business into some "why have unrevoked not rootet my phone free yet".
I see it so many places if some person gets in and talks about xtc clip in an unrevoked thread, he gets the message that he's off topic.
I'm sorry gentlemen but here those persons talking about Unrevoked and free root is actually off topic.

WOOHOO!!! Alot of struggle but I made it, I am happy human now.
Thanks anyway!
Hi all there is a single way of installing 2.2.1 rooted and recovery in one hit.
If you look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1057524
you'll seem some PC49IMG.zip files i made with everything done for you.
I made them so it was easy for people that don't want a long list of do this and that you just put the file onto the SDCard reboot to the nice hboot loader and select yes when it asks for update.
It all works with no issues i test them myself after i made them.
Its the full hog, System,Data,Recovery,Boot on both images!
Here is a complete guide to generate a goldcard. It is very straight forward.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8105075&postcount=42
Hope this helps
If your phone was really S-off by xtc clip. The CID should also changed to 1111.
In that case, together with the wildfire goldcard, u flash with the 2.1 offical rom (the one with .exe instead of zip and flash it).

[Q] Android 2.2 on MAGIC 32B

Hi guys,
I'm really desperate because since weeks I'm searching for a Step-By-Step tutorial with links to the needed files to flash a current cyanogen rom (6.x) to a friends HTC Magic 32b (german vodafone rom)
I think this is the information you need:

The current os-version is 1.6
Could anyone PLEASE help me and tell me what to do? In any tutorial I found before, there's something I don't understand or doesn't work with my configuration or a broken link.
Regards
A planless man
Maybe a link to the rom u are trying to install? What u have done thus far? Are u rooted? Ect.
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA Premium App
Thank you for your fast answer.
It's not rooted, and I don't look for a special rom - but it should be a cyanogen 6.x
My problem is, that there's something in each tutorial I find, that I don't understand or is missing.
I so I don't start with it because I don't want to brick the Magic.
Maybe you know a "complete" tutorial and give me the link - I'll check it and we could discuss the point that are not clear.
Look at my guide..check my signature...
It should be all you need to root and get custom recovery.
The rest is rather simple and there are like 1000 guides on it..
Check out his guide and post your questions/concerns and ill try to help. At least by tomorrow night I'll be home with my PC
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA Premium App
OK - so far so good.
What I understand is, that I have to do Step 1,2,3,4,5 and 7.
Now I want to flash this image: http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/dream/update-cm-6.1.0-DS-signed.zip
After that I want to flash the tiny google tools:
http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/gapps-mdpi-tiny-20101020-signed.zip
What I would do now is:
1. Copy both files to sdcard
2. Start magic with power + volume down
3. Perform Full sweep
4. Apply update-cm-6.1.0-DS-signed.zip
5. Apply gapps-mdpi-tiny-20101020-signed.zip
Is that correct or am I wrong again?
Did u do the steps to gain root? Meaning u are rooted and have a custom recovery? What recovery do u have? What radio/hboot do u have now? What do u mean by full sweep? Volume down and power is fastboot mode not recovery mode right? Do u have sdk set up on your PC?
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA Premium App
I didn't do anything - at the moment I try to understand.
I followed the Link Magic: 4 easy steps ROOT guide in mumilover's signature.
OK fastboot was wrong, I meant recovery mode
A SDK is not needed as far as I understood mumilover
Ok. U are correct. I read it. Couldn't see his sign from xda app on my phone. I would flash the engineering spl too. Just me. But yes. Do all that and u will be good to go. Before u go flashing cm and gapps make a nandroid backup from recovery first. Then wipe everything from recovery and flash away
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA Premium App
OK, I'll try all that this weekend and hope it works.
Thank you mumilover, Thank you johnson8cyl.
I'll post the result in this thread
Great !!!!!!
I tried yesterday evening and it worked.
I didn't flash cyanogen 6.1 because the zip-file was corrupt - but I switched to SuperFroyo and it runs and runs and runs ....
Again: Thank you for your great support!

Thanks for the link. After reading and trying to understand, I'm still unsure. I've worked with CWM before but I don't understand the S-OFF stuff?
I can't find a step-by-step tutorial
Well, boot into hboot and what does it say there? If it says s-off then all you'll need is to flash a recovery to flash roms.
S-on you'll need to root it using the hack kit.
