[Q] selling my kindle fire - Kindle Fire General

i got a second kindle fire that i don't use. how much would i sell this for since it is used?

I see them posted locally on Craigslist for about 170. Not sure how much they actually sell for.

hmmm I would EBay it for 160 buy it now plus whatever shipping is... Offer to have it come pre installed with ICS or CM7...

In my area on Craigslist they are usually $150-170. However, as someone who sold a lot of crap on Craigslist you generally don't get what you list it for, so I would venture to guess the selling price ends up being between $125-150.

Trying to sell a I/O tab question

Just curious what some of you think a good price for a used I/O tab might be.
It has two very small marks on the screen but is otherwise in Grade A condition.
I've had trouble selling it on eBay for what I think its worth and am afraid to let it go for too little.
Any opinions?
Anybody want to buy one?

What was your starting price? I would do Buy it Now for $400. Should sell quick. Or google ebay fee calculator and see what the buy it now price has to be to get $400 after ebay/paypal fees.

For a used, non-supported device? I was just in Costco and with rebate you can get a new 16GB for $429. MicroCenter was selling them a week ago for $350. The I/O has no collectable value so I'd guess $275-300 would be a reasonable expectation. Keep in mind that new Aconia's, K1's, and Thrive's are all selling for $299 this holiday season at various retailers.
I guess I was shooting a little high, guess I'll have to lower my expectations.
Plus woot had refurbs for 319 a few days ago for the standard 10.1 tab.

I have an I/O tab and would def take it over an standard tab anyday. Also its 32gb, 16gb tabs are just too small. I personally consider it a collectable, im sure there are others that do as well. If you have the box, etc you should do well, iMO

For something to be collectable there has to be scarcity. I've seen a bunch of I/O's on eBay and CL. You guys can list it for $600 or anything you want. The market determines value.
You can't sell it? Id rather have an I/O then the retail wifi one just cause that one looks cooler(to me) but I have the white back wifi so that might be why. So pissed best buy was out of grey when I got it.
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
I paid $600 which I thought wasn't bad since retail wifi 32GB was $599
I haven't gotten a bid over $460 yet.
Guess I'll just have to bite that bullet.
You have a 32 gig? Id trade ya for my 16 wifi. What's the difference with the io and retail I run task 7 so support doesn't matter.

Anything above $250 is too much IMO. Rather get a retail unit otherwise

Buying in USA or waiting in Canada

Hey guys, I'm from Canada and I'm planning to buy a tablet and decided to go with the note because of the multiscreen function and the s pen that could help me in my studies! Anyway my girlfriend parents are going to New Hampshire next week and they said they wouldn't mine buying one for me (obviously I would repay them ).
So I just wanted to know your opinions on either waiting for the note to come in canada (will be available to pre order soon at future shop) or make my gf parents buy one from the US and if so where would be a good place that would have them in stock? I don't want to make them drive everywhere to get it so somewhere not to complicated like a walmart, etc??
Thanks
PS: The sooner I get it, the better it is, I just can't wait anymore!!!!

I remember driving around everywhere here in Maryland trying to find it when it came out. I could only find it available at Best Buy's, but they were sold out at every location. I tried looking at Office Depot, Staples, Target, and Walmart but the best tablet they were selling was the Tab 10.1 2 or the Nexus 7. I would just check Best Buy online or have one shipped to a store for pickup in NH if they are sold out so they can physically pick it up. Just check shipping times.
Some of these early models have some QC issues like light bleed. You may want to wait and buy it from a retailer who can accept a return if you are unlucky and get a faulty unit.

Yeah maybe try amazon they have a good return policy if anything.

I got mine from B&H. It's definitely an American company, but it arrived 4 days later (cheapest option) and never seemed to spend any time in customs. The package said that it was from the B&H warehouse... in Etobicoke. I had to pay sales tax, but no duty/customs/import fees.
I'm in Calgary, so 4 days from Ontario is pretty quick! There's no way it could have crossed the border as well.
Anyways, if your girlfriend's parents can't find one in NH, I'd recommend B&H (bhphotovideo.com). I've bought camera stuff from them for years, and I've never had any "surprise" cross-border fees.

I think you guys are missing the point. In Canada the 32 gb will cost you $499. In the US the 16gb is the $499 and the 32gb is $550. So you getting more for your money if you buy it in Canada.

True... I forgot to actually reply to your post when I replied to your post!
The only advantage I can see from ordering from the States is getting the white one, and getting it faster. When I ordered mine in mid-August, Canada wasn't on the horizon. Now that it is though, I might have waited.
On the other hand, I've never come anywhere close to the 16 GB on my Nexus S (it's reading 11 free right now), so I really don't care about the extra space. I do like the white better than the grey, so I'm not kicking myself right now.

Australian Nexus 4 price if I trade in my Nexus S?

As the title says, I was wondering how much the Nexus 4 would cost if I traded in my Nexus S at any store in Australia that would sell this beast.
The Nexus 4 that I want is the 16GB version which will be $400 in Australia, but could anyone give a rough estimate of the Nexus 4 price if I traded in my Nexus S for it?

Places actually trade phones here? Never noticed that... Anywho, if they did, I'd really doubt they'd give you too much off considering it's trade-in (my guess is as good as yours but don't expect any more than what you'd get by selling the Galaxy Nexus yourself). I mean take a look at game consoles, they have horrid trade-in deals and just aren't worth it unless it's really just collecting dust.
If you sold it yourself, you could probably sell one $200-$250 at the moment depending on how quickly you want it to sell. Maybe use that for an estimate on the trade-in price.

I agree to this previous post, I don't live in Australia but for us, european citizens, problematic is the same.
Google will sell the Nexus 4 for €350 including tax + approximately €10 S&H.
Some distributors are on this price, they are buying a new...new..new Nexus S without any defects €63.
Today, an average Nexus S can be sold around €150, €180 maximum.
Well for me, that's a fair price considering I'll get a lot of money for Christmas (Minimum $200) and that money + trading in Nexus S = barely any of my own money for the Nexus 4. And I know some stores that trade, otherwise, selling my Nexus S would be another option.

Hopefully it's not like an EB Games trade-in and you get $5 off the price of the Nexus 4 when you trade in six old phones and a bunch of accessories with it, too! Haha. Which store would you go to to trade it in, though? I can't think of any stores in Australia that would let me trade in my older phone for a better price on a newer one. I think Mobicity do it but they are just an online store.
My first choice is JB Hi-Fi, and because they have the SGS 3 and Nexus 7, the chances are that they'll sell the Nexus 4. If they don't do trades, I might still buy it but $400 is pretty expensive for me. I was wishing that it would be $350 like it is in America, but Australia almost always gets a more expensive price
My second choice would be at my local shopping centre and keep searching until I find the right store. If I can't find a single store that sells the Nexus 4 and accepts trades, I'll just sell my Nexus S.

I don't believe JB do trade-ins for phones (I know they do for games). And about the price thing, it's really not that much more compared to America. We have GST included in the shown price whereas they don't so you have to add their state tax (not sure on the percentage but it comes out to be pretty close).
Hmmm... I might ask JB Hi-Fi about the Nexus 4 price :/
Then my other two options are:
1. Sell my Nexus S
2. See if JB Hi-Fi (Or any other store) can do any offers

The price should be about the same every (~$400 for the 16GB version and ~$350 for the 8GB one). Anywho, good luck!

[Q] not at Staples?!

Sadly, I can't afford a brand new tablet, especially this one.
HOWEVER, I was given a $500 Staples gift card for my birthday and buying this tablet seems like the perfect use for it!
Sadly, for some unknown reason, Staples doesn't have this tablet in stock. Not on the website, not in the stores.
No one at Staples can give me an ETA. No one at Samsung can give me an ETA.
Anyone else have this type of experience before (by which I mean waiting on new technology from Staples, not incredible impatience like mine) or know how long it takes Staples to carry brand new awesome tablets?
I may have a solution. You should try selling your gift card to someone on Craigslist for 450 or something.

UK xda users - Has anybody ever brought or sold a device on Swappa.

I've put my mint Nexus 4 up for sell on Swappa, but I'm concerned that on the UK version of the site, there aren't that many visitors, the US site seems quite busy. Has any UK user had much experience of buy / selling on Swappa?
Haven't sold anything on swappa but if you think generally, when people buy used phones the first place they go is eBay/Gumtree. EBay now have free listings but there are other fees. I find Gumtree to just be full of time waters mostly in my experience.

Swappa is a much more reliable place to purchase phones if you want something that work, they have higher standard and doesn't allow selling defects or broken screen devices.
eBay is good if you want to sell fast since there will be much higher exposure, although the fee will be higher as well, free listing doesn't mean anything in this regard. You can also sell for higher price on eBay than at Swappa, since sometimes there will inevitably be low ballers (who in the past trolled the now defunct XDA market) trying to make low ball offers. I don't think there is much gain over Swappa once you pay off all the ebay/PayPal fees though.
But overall Swappa is a much better experience for me.
