[Q] Droid Pro version? - Droid Pro General

I just got a droid pro from my cellphone carrier for free and it is a pretty nice phone, but I want to install a custom rom to get rid of bloatware and make it faster. I do not know what version(American/European) it is. How do I figure that out? Any help is appreciated.
PS: Recommend me the best roms available.

settings / about phone will give you the version. The best ROM on the PRO for is apeX 2.0 which is certified stable. I am currently running CM9 ICS which is great but no camera is available.

Ok, will check out how to flash the rom and stuff. Thanks!

Help me new member
At first, my english's poor so i'm sorry if i have bad or wrong words.
I have a Droid pro, its running on stock rom. But i feel that its so slow, i think because there are a lot of apps but they r not helpful to me.
So im here, i want to change a different room for my Droid pro ( smooth, fast, and save battery). But i didn't use Android Phone before.
So plz answer me some questions.
1/ Do i need to root my Droid pro before changing a different rom ( room coock)
so plz give me some advices how to do this. My Droid pro's running on 2.3.4 ( stock room )
2/ Can you give me some ideas about roms for my Droid pro ( fast, good, save bat)
Thanks you. And sorry for my noob ^^

I just stick to the stock rom xD
Yeah I do recognise that the stock rom is slow But the apps are not that bad. After you root the phone, with z4root or oneClick method, you can use Titanium backup to get rid of the unwanteds.
1/ AFAIK, you do. And then you need to install droid 2 bootstrap recovery. Then get into CWM recovery and flash a new rom.
2/ APEX is the fastest & most stable out there, but lacks a lot of stock rom's features. I just got my Droid pro for 2 days so I haven't known how to get those features back. But that's the idea. APEX. CM7 is better with CM's settings, and you can setup the led's blinkings But I have problem with the audio jack, so no CM7 for me. I haven't tried CM9 ICS but, like my previous nexus one, it will be a bit slow and lagginess, which are things you're wanting to get rid of.
Soooo APEX. And it's good for GSM users as well.
I find that many files provided in the forum are dead (blame it on the US Gov) but some how works. Roms are in droidforums if you know what I'm talking about. But droid 2 bootstrapper is not even available on Koush's website so here it is.
Have fun

[Q] Help with roms

Hello all,
I have recently bought a HTC HD 2 on eBay with hyperdroid cm7 v2.1.0 head honey badger. ( Whatever that means, Sorry Im new to this rom stuff) It seems to be very glitchy and force closes dialer and many applications a lot. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction as to where to start. I wish to use a better and more stable rom for my phone but have no idea where to start. Thank you
1st turn off the phone and then turn it back on. does it say magldr at the top? if it does the i think a great stable ROM to start off with would be BLUETOPIA HD, you can find it here. i think its a great started ROM because a lot of the info needed to flash the rom is express in the post in a very easy to follow way. you can also check out RAFDROID HD found here which is also a great ROM.
i would also check out this thread because it will have all the info you need to know about flashing ROMs and is written for noobs to ROM development. be sure to thank mskip for his post.
BLUETOPIA HD is [LEO1024][TMOUS]
If you have EU LEO512 don't flash this rom. If not, go ahead!

rom issues and questions!!

hey everybody.
ive been having some issues installing roms from coredroid i have tried their desire 2.3 rom and it was soo slow soo soo slow i had to get rid of it. not sure why.
now i installed the froyo rom and the rom is working like a pro but i have no keyboard no keyboard shows up after installation.
i followed their install instructions step by step by step just need to know what is going on whether its the desire or the froyo it sucks pretty bad for me.
secondly
i have been looking around and saw something called miui its been bugging my curiosity so i checked out their website and i guess its a different brand of roms for android. question is what is soo special or unique about them ? and any recommended ones that i can try out maybe ? do let me know i would appreciate the help greatly
thanks
keyboard was a problem with v1.7 froyo. you can ask help for it, in rom's thread, because there were some fixes for it. or you can download a keyboard from market.
miui roms have a launcher similar to iphone. they are smaller in size and fast. they have updates every weekend regularly. their backup-restore function is unique. they have many alternative themes and lockscreens.

Need Help with MS2Ginger 2.1 (07.01.2012)

i recently flashed this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140839 on a Green Lens Defy,... Everything works fine,..its fast, its stable, its got MOTO BLUR,....everything i would want on my Defy. But i really dislike the Battery Icon, i prefer the Original one and i need to know how i can get it back....Please help!!!
No bro u can't get the original icon
Sent from my MB525 using xda premium
i am not quite sure and not a developer but i think you could. maybe with some .zip. ive seen other zip's that were used for changing the status bar icons - but for an other ROM. why not message walter and ask him , he always helps
You could try "cooking" a theme with just the battery icon you like from the Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen.
thank you ejstubbs,. i cooked the theme n m all smiles!

I read almost all the guides available on this site. I am sorry being new to this couldn't understand much about these 2 things :
Nandroid backup & fixed sbf

b) Secondly should I use fixed sbf of Froyo or MS2giner ?
Please help me to understand this concept, I am really really confused , N I am dieing to update my Defy .. Pls support ..!!

Root for 2.3.6 motorola pro

anyone can help me?
There's no root method for 2.3.6 from Personal, Claro and Vivo at the moment. We'll have to wait until a new root method or exploit comes out.

Both have Adreno 205 Gpu. On stock rom huawei is overall slow. U will need custom rom to have good performance.
Your query isnt that simple.
There are more than one reason for slow perfomance (rom you use, cpu clock, name of the phone at build.prop for HD games, etc)
State your current settings so that someone with more experience might help you
can any one tell me how i can get a high performance in the games on my mobile U8800pro without custom rom ???

Unfortunatelly I have the U8800 non pro, so I cannot be much of a help.
You should consider looking at this link as a start
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Huawei_U8800_IDEOS_X5
There you will find everything about your phone.
Probably you should install a custom rom but be very carefull, as flashing a rom to the wrong kernel/phone might cause big problems.
Read the threads, have patience and eventually you will succeed
Especially see this thread
