I really like MIUI's music player. But Google Music is a good option also.

Stock ics music player is my favourite!

Rockbox in my opinion, have been using it on my iaudio and apple MP3 for years and now on android. It supports nearly all audio formats, provides lots of features. One drawback for the android port is that the default UI is not very good looking, but it is highly customizable and you can change it to anything if you are willing to invest some time.

I have try the mortplayer, that's so easy to use,and friendly with the folder scan, before i use that,i really love google music player, but i confused after i download some music, and i try to move to other folder, the google music can play the track, does anyone have got this problem

Widget please for the new music player in 2.2

I love the new music player and its features but for the life of me I don't understand why a widget was not included with this player.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I guess because the widget was for the android 2.1 player not the samsung player that comes with 2.2. Not to mention that would make it redundant having the controls in the notification bar after you start the app and a widget. What the should do on the other hand is give you the option to always have the controls shown in the notification bar. I also would have preferred a auto-rotation toggle over volume toggle... Because the volume buttons did a good job of that on their own, but now the simple task has become more complex and redundant...

may be bcos its not final yet??
Cough up $5.00 for PowerAmp and leave all default players as an afterthought.
Seriously, PowerAmp should be default. It's just that damn good.
Download Pure Music Widget from the market. Its a dollar, runs flawlessly, has like half a dozen widgets you can choose from and is awesome. Also works with almost every stock player on any device. Was actually my first purchase on Android.
Just get MusicMod. Free... Awesome...

Winamp has been working out for me. 2 widgets to choose from and lockscreen controls. Oh, its free too.

+1 on winamp

I second the need for a default widget, its crazy. The samsung music player is really nice, I rather use it than another one. I like the idea of always being able to keep the controls in the notification bar as an alternative to a widget though.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I got player pro but I'm really loving the look of the new player so yes a widget would be great.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I agree, the new stock player is nice. It is however lacking 2 important features for me though, the widget and headset controls. If they updated it to include those features, I'd drop winamp in a heartbeat. But until then...

Try MIUI.Very nice player.

I agree 100%. I bought it and love it!
Doubletwist for me. Lockscreen controls, nice simple widget. Player is free and I got the wireless sync with doubletwist desktop for $0.99. I found the sync works better than the Winamp one for me.

The features in poweramp are nice as is the ui, but the sound quality of the oem samsung player cannot be matched.
+1 on the pure music widget

Exactly.. I hav always used "Mixzing" since the 'Moment' 1st came out & I went to Android.. but for the 1st time, the stock player really has my grasp.. I'm a Producer/mix engineer so I know what i hear as far as music goes (not sayin no one else does as well) but the look, function & the 5.1 thing did itfor me.. 5.1 feature is 2nd to none with any of the players mentioned period...

MT4G as a music player??

Anyone use the MT4G frequently as a portable music player??
If so, what app do you use for music, and hows the interface and battery life??? Is it worth replacing my ipod nano?
Same question here, im using stock 2.2 music player or winamp

I don't use my iPod anymore..I'm always listening to music on my phone. I use the stock music app mostly. At the gym I use Pandora tho..

the android 3.0 music app has a sick ui ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896570 )
but I always end up using the stock player because of the lockscreen controls...
Pack are you running this player?

MixZing is free music player from the market. It's a bit more enjoyable than the stock music player and has screen lock controls
I use PowerAMP (it's on the market) and like that a lot.
I ran the 3.0 player from honeycome but it stutters to much I guess because its still an early build the UI is sick though.

I switch between doubletwist and pandora. I don't see that double twist lower my battery any but pandora gobbles it up

I guess it depends on whether you're picky with audio quality. There's a discernible difference, MT4G is more lo-fi. That's the only reason I ever missed my defunct Iphone.
Poweramp all the way. It's awesome!

Music player

Whats the best music player? Also best music downloader app? Gtunes was awesome but no longer available in market.

@op in the future use the q&a forum for your question threads. I wouldn't have said anything. But this is the second mis placed thread today.
good day.
playerpro is my choice for non miui music player, that or ubermusic. both in the market. miui has the best music app in my opinion though.

PowerAmp and playerpro are pretty much the same in features, I always preferred playerpro's interface. UberMusic has a fantastic UI, it's made by the launcherpro dev.
If you haven't tried miui I encourage you to do so; it's my personal favorite rom and has the best music player IMO.

I like doubletwist. It looks nice and has alot of nice features like wifi streaming. Also it has its own app for the computer which is almost like a water downed iTunes for android

[Q]Is it possible to port ios music app?

Let's face it android music or whatever application android offers isn't nearly comparable to ios counterpart, in fact I always found my ipod more appealing for the music because even double twist was worse.
So, it is possible to create or port ios music app?

if ou know how to code, it should be easy. its not possible to port any ios apps because its totally different os. the only possibility is to theme a music app or code a new app.
but why in the world do you want to change to ios? android is as good as it gets. ALSO i just remembered. i did a port on joyos and the joyos music player was really close to ios music player. you can download the port and copy the music player apk and move it to your phone.
those are the only possibilities that i can think of....

ok thanks I think I'll give it a shot.
anyway it's that ios feels better when it comes to play music,it's not that the interface makes it easier to search for songs, the white background etc etc.
there's too much black in android
hmm shame
Facepalm!

Best Music Player

Hello all. I'm looking for your opinions on which music player is the best out there.
While I like the interface of the stock TW music player, there's one thing that bugs the crap out of me. If a band name starts with the word "The", the band falls in the T's. For example, The White Stripes are in the T's not the W's.
So what are your thoughts? I've tries Poweramp and it's decent. But I'm looking to try others.

The last two days I've been looking for good music player too.
I had been using n7player because I like the user interface of it. However since I added my external 64gb SD card I have not been able to add music to it from the card. I can play music off of the card using that player but it can't locate it automatically. It can locate music off the internal storage fine.
I tried Power amp and had the same problem. Winamp was able to identify the music fine.
Im assuming its a format issue as I'm using exFAT instead of fat32.
At this point I'll say Winamp but I like n7 player the best

I use tunewiki. Its easier to use and feels more stream lined imo plus it has lyrics which is nice
Of all the players I've tried I still prefer Neutron. Just seems to sound better. Subjectively, of course.
El Mono
MPlayer
I like the stock player on the Samsung Galaxy S4, but Winamp sounds just as good and the pro version comes with EQ. I would suggest just putting the first letter of the song before the word "the". So, instead of "The Black Crows" it would be "BThe Black Crows". This will fix the order of songs, but it does look awkward.
Player pro here. It also plays videos

I hate how all the players do that with the word "the" I use mp3 organizer on my pc to batch redo all the tags to let's say white stripes the.
