[Q] Playon App Issue

Hello All -
I'm a noob with the A500 stock ICS. I have the Playon App installed, and I can browse to whatever I want to watch, but when I select an item, rather than playing it right away it brings me to screen with a picture of the video. If I tap the video it asks me how I want to play it. I've installed several different players but none of them work (mobo is one). On my android phone the video will just start playing automatically.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not opposed to rooting and installing a different ROM if that is what I need to do.
MX player
Did you tray the MX player? It loads the needed codec automatically and you can choose between hard ware ore soft ware decoding. One of both should work... .

Tried It
Thank you - I did try the MX player as well...to no avail. I even reset the tablet this morning to try a fresh OS and that made no change either. Thanks again
...nothing to thank for m8! I couldn't help...:-(

I have the same issue. Before upgrading to ICS, Playon app worked fine for me (thor v14.2 rom). With ICS (official WW), somehow .m3u8 HTTP live streaming never starts. Tried pretty much all media players I can find. No luck.
FWIW, I just saw a comment on Google Play, maybe you can give it a try -
Finally working on ICS. This app stop working on my Acer 500 after the Ice Cream Sandwich update. I tried everything until I found Rockplayer version 1.7.4 which works on ICS. Video plays without issues. ENJOY!!!!!

[Q] Nook Color with CM9 nightly (non OpenGL) problems

So I've been using CM9 and I really like it so far. The only problem is the video support. Is there an Android 4.0 ROM with video support? I also tried MIUI but Google Play wouldn't work. What are the best ROMs to use on Nook Color if you want Google Play store and Youtube?

What do U mean Rom with video support?
If U want to play a video, U just need the right software, for example Mx Player (from Play Store). Youtube is working also fine at ICS.
If you have problem with running google Play store or youtube, then this is not about video support, but probably your fault not to install Gapps after installing the ICS rom.
If you need more information, explain in details your problems.

The youtube app won't load on CM9, and watching videos in the browser just hangs up and never plays. And the Google Play store works fine in CM9 it was crashing when I tried it in MIUI, which I didn't see any GApps download for. Also, I installed GApps after installing CM9.
Which CM9 version did you install?
Produced by NookColor at ICS AOKP 4.0.4
One of the nightly builds for Nook Color. They were the only builds I could find. Are there stable builds or something that I missed?

Music Visualisation LWP not working?

Can anyone get any music visualisation live wallpapers working? They used to work great on my galaxy s and they still work great on my partners s3... She is on jellybean, so it isn't that. Is it just my phone or is it a problem with the nexus 4?
I just tested the Spectrum LWP that comes stock. Working fine with Google Play Music. I don't have any others installed to test with.

Skype

Quick question.
I'm thinking of getting the 50 percent off deal with sling TV.
I wanted to know if Skype works well with the nexus player and if there's any tweaks I'd have to do (root/sideload, etc)
The stock vanilla kernel does not support webcams so skype wont work..
lolipop rom does have a webcam support and reportedly works with Skype, but thats a full flavored android rom and may not be suitable for your needs.
Skype works with Cm12, but you'll need a mouse
