[Q] Galaxy Tab 7.7 32/64Gb versions - Galaxy Tab 7.7 General

Does anyone know when the 32Gb or 64Gb versions of the GTab 7.7 are due to be released?
I cannot find any reference to it yet

Your not the first to ponder this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1490739

Nope, no one knows when, or even IF those versions will be released. If I were you, I would just get what's available now and be happy; it's not worth the wait really.

mine Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 32GB Internal Memory with Patriot MicroSD 32GB class 10.
actually not really 32GB (internal) only 27.18GB, less than my microSD 29GB actual size.
buy in Indonesia, the price approximately $804-810USD (fluctuation USD to Rupiah)
you'll get bonus : USB Connector 2pcs, Desktop Dock (until now never use this thing, might samsung trade with another bonus? lol..impossible), Original Book Cover (i want to buy a new one, which is more tough, more solid, and also have magnet so not easy to open the front case - if the tab fall not break the screen)

Wow this is expensive 480€ Amazon Germany
Probably a 8GB with an 8GB MicroSD card thrown in.
I would double check before buying one.

o.k. but still best worth double checking to save pain later.
its the 8gb, look at their description, and they casually left that part out when listing off the specs, but thought it was important to add in "- External Memory microSD (upto 32GB) "? theyre using word play to try and sell the phone over priced.
Samsung Galaxy S provides a powerful mix of advanced hardware for a mobile experience that simply outperforms the competitors. The slim 9.9mm Samsung Galaxy S is packed with an over-sized 4.0” Super AMOLED display, 1GHz processor, ultra-fast data transfer, and generous 8 or 16GB memory with Micro SD.
16gb with micro SD, so 8gb+8gb micro sd

The Dilemma: 32GB vs 16GB

I just got my second 32GB TF (first one stopped responding to touch, even after hard reset) and this one has dust under the screen and light bleed...(I was a naysayer..but the problems are REAL and not just some over exaggeration).
Anyway...I'm going to return the 32GB to BHPhoto...and managed to order a 16GB from Amazon today.
I still have some time to cancel and was debating...is the 16GB the right call? I've had the 32GB until now (since it was easier to get) and it was kind of nice knowing I had that space if I ever needed it...but do I NEED it? I realize the 16GB is expandable due to MicroSD, but onboard is always better.
How do you guys feel about the storage space?
I honestly think 16gb is a better choice as you're very unlikely to install so many apps to eat up that much space.. and you can the $100 ultra to get a decent 32gb micro sd card!
I do wish you would make up your mind with your 'stories', because over on another thread you had already bought a tab 10'1 in NY and there's no mention of also ordering another AT from Amazon.
I wish people would just piss-off and stop blatantly inventing ways to post BS stories on this forum about this freaking awesome device

I can totally see the appeal.
However, I want that keyboard with the extended battery and I also want an SD card slot. Say what you want, but having the option to expand memory is pretty awesome.

That's not true.
If you ever want to move files from device to device all you have to do is pop out the card on one device and into another.
I would hate to wait for 16GB worth of data to be moved through USB.
The biggest files are media files so if you plan on keeping a lot of movies on your tablet at one time, then the bigger storage is probably best.
Though, the way we are headed, everything will be streamed/downloaded through cloud anyway.

Exactly my way of thinking as well. Go for the lower end and make it even BETTER than the higher ended one by getting a 32GB CLASS 6 MSD Card.

I personally bought the 16 GB because the 32 GB was sold out @ BB. I figured that I could always expand my memory via micro SD.
to me it doesn't make a ton of sense to add more onboard memory when expansion is possible, cheaper and more convenient
16GB unless you really have tons of music/movies that you want to carry with you all the time. I already have a 32gb iPhone4 so I have no reason to store my music on the tablet. 16GB more than enough.
I personally went for the 32. Unlike a phone, the microSD and SD cards are accessible. I plan to use those like floppy drives of today. It's much faster to copy media directly to the cards from a computer and stick them into the pad than to try to sync or copy them via the pad. At one point, I was thinking that I can just upgrade. However, there will always be some apps that cannot be moved to the microSD.
Also, Amazon currently has the 32 for $499 and 16 for $449. $50 difference for onboard 16 is a no brainer.
I just bought a 16gb with the same mentality as some of the previous replies. I went with the cheaper alternative knowing that I could easily upgrade the storage with a Micro SD card if I started running out of space.

Does not follow that it is better. 48 may be more then 32 but it is less then 64. You don't think that people that buy the 32 gb model are then going to say "Aw I don't need a 32 gb Micro SD card, I have more then enough internal already". No they are going to say "I wish they had 64gb Micro SD card I can put in this thing".

I see you've edited your post how errrrr predictable! but then i see you edit a lot of your posts
Given Google music, and rentable movies that either stream or delete themselves after you watch them, I think Steve Jobs is on the right track. I have WiFi 95% of the places I go. 100% of the time on work days. With the Google music beta I have no music ON my tablet, but access to my entire collection with a network connection. The 16gb tablet has room for several movies, but once netflix and android market movies are fully functional I don't see the point of even bothering to rip a DVD into a format that will play. My conclusion? 16gb saved me $50 or more over the 32gb version. That pays for netflix for 6 months or so.
Got the 16gb, and got a 32GB microsd at 90$ (patriot 32gb class 10) looks great
If you really (x10) need memory, go for the 32GB model, otherwise, the 16GB model will do just fine.

I edited it to include the link to what was referred to, to make it easier for you.
I even included the reason I edited it. If you look at the post I linked to...it was NOT edited.
Let's think about what you accused me of (starting a post about getting a tab 10.1). Was that me? No.
I decided to keep the 16gb from Amazon. External storage is all I need. Do any of the current folio cases have pockets to hold micro SD cards?
Problem with going low and using cards is it's a pain to maintain a desktop like atmosphere if I have some on board and some on a card and swap cards for something else and need access to what was on the other card. I have a mydocs folder under mysugarsync folder and sync it with my home computer. Considering a majority of my files are media/Office based, and mt TF replaced my laptop, I have a more complete setup without having to swap cards. I also had a bunch of gift cards and paid about $300 for the 32gb after returning the 16gb one so it wasn't a tough choice. I like card access, but swapping cards more often is not really my idea of efficient. Plus the slots are always open for use. Still wish the tablet had full size SD. Hate the trend towards micro on devices that have no justification for it. Considering the TF is wider than any other 10.1 with nothing else really under the hood in comparison, a full size SD should have been a no brainer.

32 gb Note?

UPDATE: Seller just got back to me saying he made a mistake in posting. He has SGS2 and not SGN. So there is no 32gb Note.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Folks,
I've seen one post on eBay (here), they are saying they have 32 gb version of SGN. He also mentioned that its not unlocked?
Do you think its legit? Is the 32gb version already out, somehow? And how is it that's its locked?
Any one has some info about this?
Thank you,
Strange auction since it's the wrong picture and no actual information about the phone, just some generic product descriptions for both the Note and SGII,
I'd not bid until I get some answers first. Such as does he have the phone in stock, if so why is there not a correct picture of the phone or the package? Where did the phone came from, Asia, Europe? Is there a receipt with it? Does the phone have 32GB internal storage or is it come with 16GB micro sd card?
There are no 32GB Note released in europe yet, so it might come from Asia if the phone is legit.
I'd not bid on this personally, it is much cheaper to get a 16GB note and 32GB micro sd card, unless that is not enough storage for you.

That's bogus.!!!! Have you seen how much the bidding is up to? Those bidders can buy a SGS2 with lots of accessories and still have change for that amount.
As far as I know, there is no 32gb version of the SGS2 as well.
Oh boy!
Those bidder are bidding for I don't know what? :|
If I were you I wouldn't even try it. The description is clearly copied and pasted from galaxy SII which doesn't match the offer. I wouldn't risk it even if that was real deal because it could be a experimental version.
I have yet to see 32GB version of the note, besides I found buying 64GB sandisk micro sdxc card to be cheaper memory storage expansion than actually buying 32GB version of the note compared to 16GB one.
Isn't 80 GB enough for android phone anymore?
The issue is that ebay's Stock descriptions for the Galaxy Note List it as a 32GB phone. I have seen more then a few listing's where the description apologized for the mix up on ebay's specs and states the phone was the 16GB variety.
Some idiot just spent $705.00 on this GS2 listed as a Galaxy Note 32GB.

Anyone here still waiting for the 32 or 64 GB version?

I don't think that I can wait any longer since there is not a single news on the anticipated 32 GB 3G version. Even vendors from the U.K. don't have them in stock.
So does anyone know anything about when the 32 or 64 GB (3G version) will come out? I googled but did not find anything.
Might as well enjoy the awesome tab 16 now and 64 gb microsd. even the samsung galaxy note 32 has not come out and it s been out since november.

This is exactly what I'm doing with mine
Cloudsource stuff like your music and pictures by using Google services (Picasa, Google+, and Google Music), and put the heavyweight content like movies and TV on your 64GB SD card, and it works brilliantly!
I'm waiting until they release the update to ICS before I even consider buying this tablet. I finally gave up waiting for the Gingerbread update for my T-mobile GT7 and loaded the German 2.3.6 ROM to my Tab last week. I don't care who held up the update, I won't trust them to release the update for the new Tabs until the day they actually come out. Hopefully, if they do release it soon, it will be after the 32 and 64GB version come out.
One of the big advantages of the GT 7.7 (and the reason I pulled the trigger) is the MicroSD card slot, which the 8.9 and 10.1 don't have. So get a 16GB model and order up at 32GB card for $50 or less (just buy a name brand). The extra memory you get on SD will be a lot less than what you would pay Sammy for, for the same bump in memory.

a 32gb class 10 card will be cheaper and faster (and give you 48GB space) than the 32GB internal storage.
I already bought a 64gb micro SD card and wanted it for the 32 or 64gb tab. The more storage the better IMO.
I. Beginning to think that the bigger storage tabs won't see release soon enough to warrant a purchase tho.

I could not wait any longer so I took the plunge and ordered it today from Negri Electronics....even without the coupon code. Man...I kicked myself for missing the coupon code by one day. I don't think there will a new code for awhile.
I also went ahead and ordered the 64 GB micro SD card from Amazon for $145.
In the mean time, I will just play with my Galaxy Note until I receive its big brother.

With the squeeze at the cheap end from the Fire an Nook it will be even harder for non Apple tab makers to offer higher storage options because that will make them even more expensive and more vulnerable to the low end units. For too many the decision comes down to: Do I pay $200 for a decent tab, $550 for a great tab with 16GB or $700 for a great tab with 64GB -- odds are the over whelming number of people opt for either the $200 decent tab or the $550 great tab with 16GB.
This sucks because I to would prefer the 64GB version but suspect it will never be made...
Brian
Why wait...?
The trouble is if you wait 6 months for the 64gb to become available... there will be another one announced, forcing for you to wait... then that'll become available in the smaller sizes, but you wait for the bigger sizes, but before they become available someone else announces the next best thing. and so on.
You gotta pick your model and get your hands on it as early as possible in the cycle.

I'm really waiting for the ICS update to be released before I consider buying one because I don't trust Samsung to release it in a timely manner. Until then, I can make do with my original Galaxy Tab. If the higher capacity memory models come out in the meantime, then that's just a bonus.
I wouldn't wait to be honest, Samsung's track record in relation to bringing the higher internal spec'd versions to market is rather poor. The Note hasn't yet arrived, the 16GB Galaxy S took forever, I'm not sure if the 32GB S2 ever materialised, they've just cancelled the 32GB GSM Nexus etc etc...
64GB model was announced at some large Russian retail stores
they'll start selling it very soon for the price of 16GB 3G plus $167...

I don't trust Samsung either, I want to buy the 7.7 but only when it comes with ICS. I have seen what happend with the original Tab and now Samsung is releasing the 7.0 Plus with ICS (Tab 2), which I'm quit sure will mean that the 'old' 7.0 Plus (just 2 months on the market) will not have ICS and maybe the same for 7.7. This will not happen to me.
Since they will be announcing new tablets on the MWC, for sure ICS will come at a later date of already released devices, there is also a possibility that this wont get ICS in a timely manner.

32GB/64GB Note 2 in UK?

Hi guys,
I currently have an S3 and I have a buyer for it, I will be buying the Grey Note II very soon. However, due to the large number of games I have and the increasing file sizes for game data (in particular gameloft games) I would like to go for the 32GB or 64GB version. It is very inconvenient to always run out of space and have to move game data to the SD card. With the size of phone games these days, 32GB really should be the new standard imo.
I already have a 64GB memory card so please don't tell me where I can purchase one of these. I want the Note 2 in Grey with 32GB or 64GB internal memory. Do they exist? Will they ever appear or am I likely to be waiting indefinitely?
Now the buyer for my S3 is getting impatient and he wants it ASAP. I could sell it and buy the 16GB grey Note 2 now, but if there is any news regarding the 32 or 64GB version I will hold out for a bit longer.
Any information would be most helpful.

Samsung are just about to start releasing an S3 64gb. Doesn't bode well for seeing a Note II anytime soon.
They seem to use the extra memory to even out their sales further into the phone's life, rather than maximize them at launch. Bloody annoying really.

I will update this thread once I pick it up at the post office today
I was in the same boat. I wanted the 64GB with 64GB microSD, but it is really unnecessary. To use that space you would need A LOT of movies on the phone. Movies etc can be streamed from your home computer via the Emit app. You can also use dropbox, so even 16+64GB is moooooooore then enough space.
Im one hoping for the release of the 64gb variant soon.
I think samsung have dropped the ball here.

Grey Note II (FREE HANDSET)
300 Minutes
Unlimited Texts
1.5GB Internet
£27 Cashback.
£31 per month (T-Mobile)
24 Month Contract.
I ordered it today, it should be with me tomorrow.

No, the one I ordered is 3G.
Thing is, I do not intend to use 4G at all yet especially since we can be sure it will cost a fair bit on top of our contracts. I have also heard reports that the battery life takes quite a hit on 4G. By the time 4G is standard across the UK and we have coverage everywhere, I reckon I may have the Note 3 by then...
farfromovin - I agree with you, I think 128GB micro sd cards are literally just a few weeks away now.
If your thinking for waiting before buying the consensus is that is too long to wait for most. We are greedy. But it might still be a good idea as next week ee launch the lte version, this may affect the prices but come November network prices will definitely be affected. Combined you might save £50 in 30 days. This is all skeptical I know so let's say the EV is around £25 allowing for a fall in hype too.

It's funny you say that. I was thinking the same thing. I sure hope so. If this is the case I'd be willing to go that route. Not only is it more storage it's a more future proof solution. In fact the difference between a 16GB and 64GB note will probably be roughly equal to the difference between a 64GB card and a 128 GB card.
... here's hoping.
Got my Note II today, what a beast of a phone. Takes the best things from the Note I and the S3 and combines them, and improves it some. :good:
not sure note 2 would take 128gb sdcard as specs state upto 64gb?

The XC standard is supposed to be fixed regardless of memory size (up to a limit I forget) where the HC standard was different for each capacity. Wouldn't guarantee it but if 64 works then 128 (256, 512...) should be fine.

side note...the way these sdxc are increasing in size and cheapness on price i can see them maybe killing off usb sticks the way its going...boy are 64gb micro card small cant wait for 128gb ones.
