[How To] (video) Supercharge Ice Cream Sandwich!!! - Nexus S General

EDIT: This doesn't work on ODEX ROMs! That would be stock ROMs, as most custom ROMs are deodexed. If it is an odex ROM, you can do the mod, but you have to do it manually (the web app doesn't work). Check out the second post in the supercharger thread for a how-to. But if you are on a custom ROM the method in the video will work!
Alright, so I have been reading about how to supercharge ICS for awhile, but the process looked daunting. However I figured it out, and it works great! This will work on ANY ROM, so try it out!
I have been using this for awhile, and it's just super smooth. I've been using it a lot lately, and it hasn't given me a bit of lag yet! It's just gone!
What is V6?
V6 supercharger is a script that manages the RAM memory. This makes multi-tasking much faster, and it knows when to kill off apps that are taking a lot of RAM. This makes your phone a lot faster and more efficient!
Here is the person who made the script: V6 Supercharger
Here is a dl link to the script: DOWNLOAD LINK
I'm in! So... How Do I Do this?
Well I made a video for you:
Here are instructions:
1. Download the supercharger script from the link above and put it on the root of your SD card.
2. Get an app called script manager from the market. It's free. Open it up and click on the supercharge script from the list of what's on your SD card. Click the SU button, then hit run.
3. Go through the setup. Set scrolling speed to 1. When they ask if you want to integrate it into the system, say yes. You will get to a list of about 30 options after a little bit.
4. Select number 6 (I know I said 7 in the video, but 6 has better multitasking) for this phone, and hit enter. It will go through a whole bunch of stuff.
5. It will ask you to superclean and restart. SAY NO. You'll do that inn a minute. Just hit the home button.
6. Open the browser on your phone and go to : android.mimic.ca and hit the upload button. There will be a popup, select root explorer (Install it if you don't have it already). Go into system/framework/ and select the services.jar file. It will take you back to the website. Hit upload. The page will reload. Now select the CMW flashable zip option and download it. Go to root explorer and move that to the root of your SD card.
7. Reboot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvic, then flash the zip. Reboot. Done! Enjoy the speedieness!

Let me know what ya think!

Alright, so enough questions have been asked that I should start giving answers to them here.
Q. Do I need to re-flash the file in recovery if I want to make changes?
A. Not if you make changes to the the supercharger script (ie. change options). The only time you have to flash it is if you upgrade/change ROMs. Just remember to make a new one, and don't flash the old file!
Q. Isn't option "X" better/faster/easier on battery?
A. Play around with them and see what works for you. I like option 6. Not too aggressive, but it still keeps control. Just use the options that are for your phone (ie 512HP for this phone because it has that much RAM. So option 5, 6, or 7). I also use the nitro-lagnullifier. It makes things even faster!
Q. Does it affect battery life?
A. Yes, in a good way! I get better battery life.
Q. How do I know if it worked??
A. Open up script manager, and go to the supercharger file. let it run, and once you get to the menu with all the options, it will tell you if you are supercharged or not right below that.
Those were the most commonly asked questions. If they don't answer your questions then post 'em!

battery life
so this looks promising but how does it the effect on battery life with ICS.

works great... noticeable difference

This shouldn't hurt the battery. I used to use it on my Epic fairly often especially once the Gingerbread leaks started coming out. There are several different routes to go with the script too. It can also be used to improve multitasking such as when you have multiple apps open at once.

thanks for the quick tut. I was gonna try using it on aokp as well, then i saw ics you had to do something extra and i just stopped looking into it lol - It's much easier than i expected.

I'll try the touch recovery out. I'll flash it through fastboot in a bit. I'm just used to this one from my EVO.

Sorry I don't. I just use custom ROMs!

just installed along with the KAK
haven't had it for long, but first impression's that there's quite a lot more ram available on boot, and pretty smooth
thanks for your instructions! they were helpful

Thanks for the writeup and video. I tried this on my Evo a while back, but the thread was huge and difficult to navigate.
Just ran the script, so we'll see how it goes.

Awesome. Thanks!

phone went into infinite boot loop.. =[
had stock ics w/ root. tried to do the ics mod. I think odex file but when i tried running the one click script, i think something went wrong when i rebooted

can someone please explain to me why in the instructions it says for me to upload my services.jar file to this guy's website???? That just seems very fishy!!
Why can't we patch the file locally??? Why does your server have to do it for me when an app could easily be written to do it without me uploading my services.jar to some random website I don't trust!

You can patch it manually. Check out the link in the OP. However, it requires unziping the file, opening it in notepad++, editing the code, zipping it back up, putting it back in the phone, and editing some stuff with terminal emulator. It's a bit over most people's heads, and the website makes it easy by making the patched services.jar a flashable zip.
If you want to do it, be my guest. It's all in the second post of the supercharger thread.

I have only used it on custom ROMs. The web app doesn't work for odex ROMs (stock), but it will work on custom ROMs. Try one of them out, it should work then. just titanium backup, flash new ROM, and restore backup. Won't loose your apps!

I can confirm this is working on the cyberg rom...my min ram is 144mb now under performance setting...my phones seems snappier now!

OK guys, here it is.
For those unfamiliar with Voodoo : http://project-voodoo.org/
This kernel includes ONLY the voodoo lagfix, no color fix ATM.
For FAQs : http://project-voodoo.org/faq
Also now included is the option of using aosp style bootanimations. The attached zips include one. If you want to use your own, then place a compatible bootanimation.zip in either /system/media or /data/local.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-hacks/33932-bootanimation-zip-file-explained.html
http://www.dkszone.net/how-to-create-custom-boot-animation-for
First off, have PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE!!!!!!
It takes a WHILE on the first boot to do the conversion and copy over your data. If you decide to revert back to stock, it will take a WHILE then to convert back. Don't reboot, let it do its thing.
Once you've flashed this kernel, don't just go flashing other kernels. Voodoo changes some key parts of your system and you will have fix them by hand if you flash another kernel without removing voodoo first. To remove, simply do adb shell "> /sdcard/Voodoo/disable_lagfix" and then reboot. If you want to re-enable voodoo, then remove that file.
If you have less than 220mb of space remaining on internal storage, then clean some stuff out before flashing this. I have also included a 1.2GHz overclocked kernel.
For those who get excited from staring at Quadrant all day: I KNOW YOUR SCORES ARE NOT AS HIGH AS THEY ARE WITH THE EXT2 "LAGFIX". This is to be expected. Voodoo does not mess with /dbdata but only /data. THIS RESULTS IN ABSOLUTELY NO LOSS OF FUNCTIONALITY OR USEABILITY.
If you are running the ext2 "lagfix", please uninstall it before using this. If you have problems, wipe data and try again. Voodoo should retain data, but nothing is foolproof. Be prepared to lose your data! If you have problems with force closes after uninstalling, make sure to wipe using the option in the privacy menu.
Thanks to Dirrk and DataSpree for help getting the kernel in a useable condition, and thanks to SuperCurio for the original lagfix and clues on how to get it working with the Fascinate.
If you would like to look at the code for yourself, please check my github @ github.com/jt1134
Enjoy!
******EDIT******
For anyone who flashed v0.1, I made a stoopid. Sorry. I've attached a fixed version. You will need to uninstall the current voodoo before flashing this. To uninstall simply do : adb shell "> /sdcard/Voodoo/disable_lagfix" . or, create a blank file in your favorite manner. You can also do this with a file explorer program such as Astro or Root Explorer. Then reboot. Once you've booted into android successfully, you can install the attached zip. If voodoo does not reinstall for you, make sure you have deleted /sdcard/Voodoo/disable_lagfix. Repeat: this is only if you are running v0.1!

How do I Transfer a Downloaded Zip File to the SD Card?

I just downloaded the smooth sense download to my Evo. I need to move it to my SD card before unzipping it, etc.
I did this before without making sure the download is on my sd card, and I went into a Boot Loop.
I did a reboot and followed all instructions regarding un zipping here >
http://www.goodandevo.net/2010/10/how-to-add-percentage-to-htc-evo-taskbar-battery-icon.html
and then I went into a Boot Loop again. I finally just re flashed the ROM that I backed up before trying the smooth sense zip. All is well but i would like to try agin.
Any help is appreciated.
Oh. I also have ROM Manager installed.
I would like to buy the Premium version to support the Developer But I don't see an option to purchase from the free version app.

Thanks for the above info because i was about to go into a Boot Loop
I am using the Stock ROM.
Originally I was going to download the circular battery indicator, until I came across the above.
I may just download the circular indicator, but I was trying avoid battery drain if any with the circular icon, and taking up space up in the task bar.
Which Custom ROM would you guys suggest before I start searching that also.
I was searching 2 hours about the sd transfer issue, but could not find any answers which is why I posted the question here.
Btw, how do I transfer Zip files to the SD card. if the smooth battery Zip was supported by 3.7 would I then have an option to do so?
Thanks
If you asking how to get the file to your phone, I don't mess with usb transfers anymore. I put the file in my dropbox on the pc, then use the dropbox app on my phone to transfer it to the sd card. I keep all my roms, kernals and mods on dropbox. Also, titanium backup now sends my backups there as well. Check it out at http://db.tt/zaSKX4L if you don't already have it.
Dropbox is great for that sort of thing like Phily said. If you want to use usb transfer then connect your phone to your computer with the usb cable. Set your phone to disk drive and it'll appear as a drive under my compter. Then cut/copy + paste the file onto your sd card.
As far as roms go. I use Mikforyo 4.4. Myns 2.2 rls 5 is good as well. Depends on what you want and the look you want. Spend a day or two reading the dev section and checking out roms to find out what you like. My guess is you might end up flashing 2,3 or 4 roms before you find out what you like.

Thanks for the informative and quick info
I will definitely check the Dropbox info out and download it. Also i will look into the diff ROMS available.
For now, I may download the circular battery app until I find a ROM with that as a feature.
I am happy I got out of the Boot Loop though. I got worried for a while.
It was a learning curve, but I got it done.
Edit:
I cannot open up the app after downloading. The circular battery indicator is in apk format.
"Cannot Open File" is displayed ?
i'd just flash a new rom. there are so many fantastic ones out there, based off sense.
there's myn's warm twopointtwo. highly themed to look amazing. very fast and slick. smooth as butter.
there's caulkin's evio 2. very very very fast. very tweaked. very optomized. great rom. also lightly themed to not look as fugly as sense.
also, ava-froyo is nice. very tweaked. this dude knos his java.

Click on it in root explorer. That will usually install apks.
For the apk thing, is it framework-res.apk? This is an exception. It holds all the images and some scripts for android systems, and needs to be installed to a separate partition.

I am not sure but will find out and let you know.
Here is the link, but I may pass due to the taking up of space on my task bar. I'm Rooted so I'll find a ROM as suggested with a percentage in the existing battery icon.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8639993
yep, those files are meant to be placed in the framework-res.apk (or are already in a linked one) you need to push it to /system/framework/ while in recovery mode. i can make you a flashable this weekend if you want.
edit: never mind its just an app, but i can make it replace the battery percent you have now if you want. it'll be the first apk other than the framework-res.apk i have completely decompiled, but i am sure i can do it.

I have both now.
Do you mean that you make it so I wouldn't have the stock battery icon, and only have the circular icon?
Optimally, I would like to have the percentage in the stock battery icon (smooth battery) but as explained, that is not supported with 3.7 if I understand that correctly?

[GUIDE]Best AOSP(CM7.Decks.MIUI) configuration.

Okay, so recently Ive been seeing a lot of complaining about cm7, decks, miui etc.
I will show you my favorite way of doing things which has kept me hooked since late last year.
Don't blame me for any problems.
If you need the sense equivalent of this, go here.
DOWNLOADS:
:Rom:
Decks AOSP. You can use any other AOSP rom of choice, like CM7 Nightlies. As long as its based off cm7, you can follow this guide and be fine. Settings may be different though.
DON'T flash anything yet.
:Kernel:
Download a SavagedZen Kernel. I recommend CFS Havs. I understand that they havent updated recently but from my personal experience, SZ is amazing.
P.S. This is needed for what I'll be showing you later on so you will definitely not get the results expected from using Tiamat or any other kernel.
If you are not sure on what kernel or rom you want to use, go to this link.
:Misc:
Here are other things that you need to download.
Format All Zip
Use this everytime you install a rom. Dont worry, it does not touch your sd card.
Gapps for CM7
Gapps for Decks
Gapps for Decks with voicemail
Always need your Gapps!
I have created my self a flashable titanium backup zip using the app(its in the preferences somewhere) and that helps out a bunch.
GPS Drivers
Fixes GPS with AOSP.
SuperCharger Script
This thing is freakin awesome.
There will be other things to download later on but they are apps.
Before we move on, do this:

Put every single one of these files on the root of your Sd card. This means that the files should be in no folders! directly on your card.
You SHOULD be using AmonRA recovery.
If not I highly recommend you do that.
FLASHING
Make sure everything you need is backed up already
1. Boot into recovery
2. Nandroid Backup your current rom[Optional]
3. Flash Format all zip[2x if you would like]
P.S. Format all doesn't wipe sd-ext. Do that through recovery wipe options
4. Flash rom
5. Flash kernel
6. Flash Gapps, GPS Fix, and Titanium backup if you have it[No particular order for these]
7. Reboot
AFTER FLASH
Go through everything, setup your accounts
Download Script Manager, Juice Defender, System Tuner, and Terminal Emulator[Most AOSP roms already have this]
:SuperCharger:
1. Open Script Manager and navigate to the root of your Sd card which is where the SuperCharger script should be
2. Run the script as root only. Leave everything else unchanged
3. Choose your scrolling speed options.. you should go fast
4. When the list of options is given, choose either of the aggressive setting. I use the first one
The new updates are making everything kind of confusing.
All the options you get have a bunch of numbers next to them; I'm going to just type out which ones are the ones that I recommend.
[6,8,24,30,40,50] My favorite.
[6,8,25,30,35,35] A bit more aggressive then needed, but still good.
5. After it is done and it goes back to the numbered options, press back and leave the script in background
6. Navigate all the way back to your phone's system files
7. Go into system/etc and then into init.d
8. Run as root and boot the supercharger file in there
9. Reboot
:System tuner:
Car-o-Dope Tweaks said:

Also, change cache size to 4096
:CPU settings:
Settings > CyanogenMod settings/Advanced settings > Performance > CPU settings
1. Available governors, choose conservative
2. Check set on boot
If you want to go more advanced and be able to set up profiles and other things, check out SetCpu
If you do choose SetCpu, do NOT mess with Cm7 CPU settings.
P.S. This is where Tiamat lacks. I have no lag using conservative on SZ kernel.
P.S.2. Since we are using a HAVS kernel and are undervolting, overclocking is dangerous.
P.S.3. If your rom doesn't have these options, you can use SetCpu to do the same exact thing.
:JuiceDefender:[Optional]
This app can get you A LOT more battery life if used right.
I use the ultimate version of this and I highly recommend you buy it yourself.
1. Set profile to advanced
2. [About] Go down and uncheck enable after unlock
Some kind of notification is needed or else JD will be killed
3. [Controls] Change to your needs, I leave everything untouched
4. [Schedules] Disable night[Optional]
5. [Schedules] Change to your needs, I leave everything untouched
6. [Triggers] Disable Battery[Optional]
7. [Triggers] Change to your needs, I leave everything untouched
One more thing.. there's this app called chainfire 3d I use it but I haven't really noticed any difference with anything. You should try it out and let me know
Tips
1. Turn off haptic feedback
Settings > Sounds > uncheck haptic feedback
Less lag + a little bit more juice
2. Kill apps by holding down back button
Only tested on cm7/decks. Other roms may be different
Settings > Applications > Development > check Stop app via long press back button
3. Make WiFi stay on
Settings > Wireless & Networks > Wi-Fi settings > menu > Advanced > Wi-Fi sleep policy > Never
Android, on default, turns of WiFi when the screen is turned off. This will yield worse battery life since 3g/4g sucks much more battery life than WiFi
4. Increase VM heap size
Settings > Advanced/CyanogenMod7 settings > Performance > VM heap size > 48m > Reboot
5. Add Silent slate
Settings > Advanced/CyanogenMod7 settings > Sound > Check Silent slate
Adds silence option for notifications when you use vol+/vol-
6. Use Google voice for voice mail
7. Many AOSP experts would recommend using decks v1.3d over 1.3 but I haven't really noticed much of a difference and the new features in 1.3 are too big a compromise for me. If 1.3 is not working out for you, definitely try 1.3d.
New doesn't always = better
bairds1 said:
When using 1.3d, do the 2 fixes for it - proximity and phone fix - one is a zip to flash and the other is a file overwrite/replacement. Details and links in Deck's thread.

One of the main reasons I dislike sense
Apps that I can't live without
1. Rom Toolbox
PLENTY of things you can do with this rom.
Get rid of ads, change boot anim., etc etc etc
2. LauncherPro
HATE stock android launcher
There are many other ones like ADW, GO launcher, WP7 etc..
3. Adobe reader and flash
4. MixZing
HATE stock android music
Many other options here
5. Google Maps
6.Root explorer
7. Twonky server(for Xbox or other things streaming)
You have a tip or an app? Let me know and ill add it to here
Warning: Reflashing Rom or kernel can reset some of these things
Now, you will have optimal performance and optimal battery life.
Plain AOSP is ugly though right? Look in the market for themes or go to the XDA android themes section
You can also use the UOT theme kitchen. It is truly amazing and very easy to use. It has churned out quite a few sexy themes for me.
Let me know of any suggestions you have.
And the last P.S. in this thread: Every Evo is different. You may not have the same perfect results as me. If you experience things like random reboots, lag, bad battery etc then you should post in this thread and either me or other people will help you achieve my results for your phone.
Edit to ^: If you have terrible battery life, you most likely have a wake lock issue. There are hundreds of threads on this and how to fix it. Here's one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1128135
If my thread doesn't seem to give you the desired results check out the increasingly popular car o dope tweaks: http://vaelek.com/index.php/topic/1916-guide-car-o-dopes-supersonic-tweaking-guide-v102-120411/
Hit the thanks button if you fall in love with your phone and cant run any other rom ever again
Decent guide, but if you're using a havs kernel, setcpu can conflict and do more harm then good.
Nice guide, especially for the newer people joining our Supersonic group. I would only add a couple of points for consideration. After trying every aosp rom available, including the latest CM nightly's (2.3.7), my favorite is Deck's 2.3.4 (version 1.2.1) ... very quick, smooth, and quite stable. I also think that S/Z's "interactive x" governor is the best.

And with Interactive X you wouldn't need screen-off profiles.
CM7 has "Advanced Settings" (I forget the name but it is in settings) so you really wouldn't need SetCpu. You can set min/max speeds and governor. If you have profiles, SetCpu would run in the background.
People should still wipe everything in recovery, not relying on zips to do it though.

The zips are much more reliable.
I had read before about the havs thing but I haven't noticed any problems so whatever. I will finish this later tonight because I'm at work right now

Not saying that the wipe zips aren't unreliable, but usually I wipe everything by hand then run one of the zips. For example, the zip you provided doesn't wipe sdext. The one you gave is actually a good one as it wipes boot and system along with the usual (sometimes I don't see one or the other in other zips).
And the HAVS issue is more when you are overclocking, overclocking and undervolting don't go well together.
Ill add those in. Thanks.
Deck's + SZ + SuperCharger script + ViperMod script.
Personally, smartass or smartassV2 are the best governors in my opinion.
thanks for this thread my man
I like conservative because it stays at the min much more then any other governor

V6 supercharger script updated

Anyone having errors with v6 supercharger such as bootloops? should go grab the new version posted today. I'm about to try it out now myself.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
I hate to sound like robert stack all the time but... Update!: New script works perfect no bootloops anymore and some of the old options are gone such as the integration option. Its fairly automatic after running option 9 and you now can let the script wipe your caches without any problems! Nice! Thanks zeppelinrox!!
heh.. you're welcome!
I felt bad about all the supercharger posts in the CM7 thread so it's better to keep it separate
Feel free to try The Die-Hard Battery Calibrator test 2... it's attatched to the same post.
If it doesn't read your voltage or status (plugged in or not) or battery percentage, run these 2 commands in terminal and copy all and paste it here without formatting anything:
Code:
ls /sys/class/power_supply/battery
cat /sys/class/power_supply/battery/*
First command will list the battery folder's contents (file names)
Second command will show the contents of those files

sorry for noob questions.
What does the Die-Hard battery calibrator test 2 do?
Helps calibrate the battery so that you can be sure that mV match up with % level and that it's charging properly.
Sometimes when charging it will say 100% when it really isn't.
If you never flash a new rom you only need to do it once but if flashing different roms, its a good idea to calibrate the battery after each flash.
So I should wait till I'm at 4200mv / 100%, until I actually run the battery calibrator script?

So this basically does the same thing as the battery callibration app from the market or is this other way more accurate or informative?
I'll give it a go... script says it needs to be at 4200mv (100%) before running calibration. You can override it and run the script if you want, but it makes sense to calibrate at 100%. I'll report back once I try... only at about 70% now.

Then this script seems exactly the same as the battery callibration app from the market which is also free by the way and completely trouble free cause I use that after every new flash.
Ya I couldn't believe somebody made an app to just do a simple rm command.
At first mv wasn't even used so I had posted on the first page of it's xda thread about it.
I did like the idea to prevent calibration until the battery met certain conditions tho
Since we've got a thread about this..I've got a couple newb questions. I followed the tutorial here:
http://androidforums.com/ascend-all...-run-zeppelinroxs-v6-supercharger-script.html
To install the V6 Supercharger script, and it seems all went fine. I've noticed in other threads people mentioning selecting the +1000HP option, and I'm wondering what i'm missing, as that wasn't even an option in that particular script.
I noticed you've got some other updates and stuff..but i've tried running the 3G Turbocharger script..and still don't see the option for +1000HP?

[Scripts] The Legit Zip (Feb 8, 2012) & Nifty Coniptions Tweaks v1.01

Updated tweaks are at bottom of this post
Here is a flashable zip of 3 scripts that when put together speed up your phone and make it faster.
The niftyconiptionstweaks was meant only for the HTC Evo 4g but if your phone supports "init.d" then try it out if you want to and please report back. It may not even flash in recovery because the phones are different but its worth a shot. If it works, please post saying it does and what kind of phone you have. The Legit Zip should work for any phone.
To determine if your phone supports "init.d", download a file manager like Root Explorer or ES File Explorer, go to "system", then "etc". If you come across a folder named "init.d" then your phone may support it.
I did not write these scripts, I just edited them to work like Car-O-Dopes tweaks. It basically has the same values as Car-o-Dopes tweaks. It is best to use this on a Sense rom. I used the S97ramscript, KickAssKernel, and 02sictweaks but I changed the values of each script to match what Car-o-Dopes tweaks do, and I wanted to share this with you all because it makes installing these tweaks easier and faster. Thanks to zeppelinrox for the kickasskernelizer, Juwe11 for the S97ramscript, Smokinl1337 for the 02sicktweaks, coffehandle for giving me the idea when he made his own tweaks, and Car-o-Dope for coming up with the ultimate combination of out-of-memory settings and sysctl tweaks that make your phone smooth as butter.
I use this on my HTC Evo 4g running Shooter E3D, with AnthraX kernel and it works like a charm.
I am in no way responsible if your device messes up or anything unwanted happens to it. Use at your own risk.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/40376256/niftyconiptionstweaks.zip
Instructions: Follow Exactly
1) Make a nandroid backup incase something goes wrong or you want to revert.
2) Download a file manager like Root Explorer or ES File Explorer (I use Root explorer).
3) Open up root explorer and go to "system", then "etc", then "init.d". Click on the "Mount R/W" button so it turns to "Mount R/O" (that way you can delete files).
4) Delete any or move to a folder on your sdcard (incase you want to revert) any ram scripts or ram tweaks you may have that is in the "init.d" folder (examples of ram scripts or tweaks are 01sysctl, 06sysctl, 02sicktweaks, S97ramscript, 99supercharge, and 98Kickasskernel).
5) Also if you are running v6 supercharger, you need to un-supercharge. If you are running Kickass Kernelizer, you need to un-kernelize and do not run those scripts while you have the niftyconiptionsscripts installed.
6) Uninstall any ram manager apps or task killers and do not use these.
7) After you uninstall all of that, reboot your phone and verify that none of the scripts you had before are still installed. (it will mess with the scripts you are about to install).
8) Boot into recovery (preferably Amon Ra).
9) Once in recovery, you need to mount /system, then mount /data.
10) Find the niftyconiptionstweaks.zip you downloaded and flash it.
11) After you flash the zip, go back and unmount /system. Don't mess with the /data because after you flashed the zip, it automatically unmounted the /data for you.
12) Reboot phone and enjoy. Let your phone set at the lock screen for about 2 minutes, unlock and let it set for another 2 minutes to let it settle in. Your phone will become dramatically smoother after about an hour.
UPDATE:
Nifty Coniptions Tweaks
Updated niftyconitpionstweaks. Install just as you would before and follow directions as posted above. I got rid of some unnecessary settings in the scripts. Also your sdcard read ahead speed will change to 512kb which is the optimal value for the evo.

The Legit Zip
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/40376256/Nifty-v1.01/TheLegitZip.zip
Here is The Legit Zip I just put together. This has the same settings as the V6 Supercharger on option 8 and the Kickasskernalizer. I did not change any values to these so its the same as installing those two scipts manually. Again, I did not write these scripts, I just put them into a tweak bundle to make it easier to install. Thanks to zepplinrox for making the V6 supercharger and the Kickasskernalizer. To install this, follow the same instructions in the first post.
To see if the settings stuck, download Rom Toolbox Pro and go to the performance tab, Kernel tweaks or Sysctl Tweaks (depending on what version of the application you have) and see if it reads as Min Free KBytes - 4096, Dirty Ratio - 95, Dirty Background Ratio - 60, VFS Cache Pressure - 10. Then go to the Auto Memory Manager and see if it reads as 6,12,150,165,180,200.
If you would like me to add another version of the V6 Supercharger just let me know.
Have fun and hit that thanks button if you like it.
