I'm fishing around and trying to figure out if i want this Kindle Fire which i would root right away so i can use android market. Or if i should go for Toshiba Thrive, Sony Tablet S, or ASUS EEE HD Transformer. I kind of don't want to spend a lot of money but if anyone can answer me a few questions that would be awesome.
I mainly wanna use my University of Phoenix app, but for free time i read and play games. I wanna know if Dungeon Defenders, Order & Chaos, GTA III work on the kindle fire and is it playable? I am alright if it lags a little but enough to play?
Okay, so quite a few things here!
If you want a tablet that is good value for money and that can do all the things you have stated above, the Kindle Fire is definately the best option.
- The University of Phoenix App is compatible with the Kindle Fire
-All of the above games work perfectly without lag (actually, dungeon defenders IDK)
GTA 3 is amazing, and works perfectly on full graphics.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for the reply! I think will go with the kindle fire. I bought one for my mother for christmas and i like it, she wont let me use it though. As long as i know those apps i use a lot work, im happy.
By anychance has anyone got the sims free play working on the fire? I hear it has major issues with a lot of divices.

Hi, thanks for checking this thread.
I was wondering if anyone knows if the Gameloft games that I have bought for my Iconia a500 will work after updating my tab with Dexters PRIMEE port?
I hear it is a pretty solid rom and I hate to not do it. But I don't want to lose my games.
I've already lost them once when I returned the first Iconia to BestBuy. I had to go through Gamelofts Customer Service to get the games back. Fortunately they were awesome to deal with.
I don't know how the games are authenticated. It's just that I am not certain whether my tablet will still pass if make changes like that to it.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Well, you could use titanium backup to, erm, backup your games + data, then make a nandroid backup using CWM, install Primee, then restore your games using titanium again.
Thanks for that. If I decide to go with PRIMEE I'll definitely go that route.
Appeciate the help.
No problem. If you have the time, give Prime a go. 3.1 feels faster and works great.
even with my phone i rarely use nandroid i just make frequent baclups in titianium. once in a while it loses my homerun 3d battle

First, thanks for everything Dexter, I appreciate you taking the time to help out here. Don't know how you possibly do it all.
The Gameloft store is where I bought my games as well.
Question.
Did you buy Asphalt6 before you made and installed that way cool rom of yours on your tablet? If so did you re-install it from the apk, or did you just go back to the Gameloft store on your device?
The reason that I ask is that when I returned my tablet I couldn't get to those games online to put them back on the new tablet. I actually had to go through customer service at Gameloft.
Why?
It seems that when I bought my games using the a500 at the Gameloft store, They didn't give me, the owner, an account for the games. They assigned an account to the tablet. Perhaps I should have bought the games through their webpage on a pc. I may have been better off...
Anyway, I am pretty sure that's why I had trouble and also why I am concerned. If my tablet doesn't identify as the tablet that the games are associated with, I don't think that they will re-install.
So I suppose that the real question is this. Will the Rom change whatever the identifier is that the apps look for? I figure that it is the serial number and possibly the model number too. So everything will be most likely be fine. But after what it took to get them back I'd like to be certain.
Thanks in advance for taking time for this. And thank you for sharing your Rom with us. Great job.

Maybe the games can't recognise the tablet because of the CM7. I know some people who play games on stock rom. Good games I mean, like deadspace.
Asphalt 6 (Gameloft) won't even show up for me in the market.

Asphalt 6 didn't show up for me in the Android Market, but there was a separate Kindle version on sale in the Amazon appstore for $0.10 the same day it was on sale on the Android store so I got it from there.
Note: I am using the stock software, NOT CM7.

i have nova 3 in my tab its working fine i guess pirated version had been downloaded.... coz the original is worth playing and does not freeze at all:good:
Pirate Software
Ok Boys and Girls, read the rules.
Trading, discussing, or otherwise promoting "pirated" copies of paid software, is strictly prohibited at XDA and most other reliable sites.
You all ought to know better. So let's hope this doesn't go "that" direction.
If you paid for it, no problem Mates.

I have this problem with all of my gameloft games (all paid for)some Tom's don't allow me to play any games bought from the wap store (like the free games that I got for buying the a500) but all play store games work great.

Ok... Let me start off with I do not want to root my kindle... I know I will just mess it up and end up with a broken kindle
SO...Amazon marketplace finally got Splashtop Remote Desktop which I was so excited about so I can use in my classroom to write on my SMART Board without actually being at the board. But, no it wants to be difficult and NOT write. It does everything else (click, drag, etc) but just won't write on the stupid SMART Board!!! All the teachers who have Ipads with Remote Desktop are fine... Even my boyfriends transformer works... so what is the difference?!?!?!
I tried to sideload the app from the transformer... it doesn't work. Any help here?? Please, I don't have 500 bucks to drop on an Ipad and especially for one stupid little reason... I'm a BROKE teacher... and a "noob"....
Thanks!
Is it possibly a click drag finger like as if you were moving a file (like click-release quickly-click and drag)?

you know if nothing else maybe try teamviewer i dont know how well it would sideload but its worth a shot good luck
Team Viewer works great on the Fire. Well, my rooted jb10 fire works great.

I just recently purchased an Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro (2021 release) for my son who is almost 8. I sideloaded Google Play on it so I could download the games I pay for each month or have made a one time payment for. Everything seems to be working fine except for the fact that my son has downloaded some games from Google play that have in app ads to watch to help further game play and they will not load. When you try to click the button to watch the ad nothing happens. I've tried searching for a resolution to this but I'm not finding a whole lot. I've tried to download the games that have the in app ads from the Amazon store but sadly most are not available through Amazon. This wouldn't be such a big issue except for the fact that my son has Autism level 3 and doesn't understand why the ads aren't working. Explaining it to him doesn't help because he doesn't have the ability to understand it. It's just resulting in him getting super frustrated and thinking I'm doing something to prevent his game from working. I've seen posts from people asking about this issue but no one seems to have an answer on how to fix it or if it's even fixable. Is there a way to get these in app ads to work on side loaded games? The only reason I even bought this tablet was because it gives my son more freedom to do stuff while keeping him out of the things he shouldn't be in. We had a heck of a time keeping him out of stuff on other tablets as he's able to get out of all kid launchers we've tried and other security measures. Someone please tell me there's a way to fix this!
Did you ever find an answer to this problem? I'm hoping we can get some ads on ours as well.

Sorry for the late reply. No, I still haven't found a resolution to this. The in app ads work on many of the games that are downloaded but some they just won't load on. My son loves the game Sand Balls and both versions of that game we're having this problem on among some others. I have tried searching every where for a resolution to this but have only found very few mentions of it with no fix. One person said that there was no fix for it at the time they were commenting but it was an old post so I was hoping someone figured it out by now but I guess not. Have you had any luck since you replied?

I had been looking for an answer for this myself as well as a way to make the Fire a bit more "regular" Android-y vs. Amazon's Android. This past weekend I put Fire Toolbox on my (Windows) computer - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/windows-tool-fire-toolbox-v30-2.3889604/ . Through this I disabled the Amazon Appstore which helped some of my games be able to utilize the extra in-app functionality (as well as open app store page links with Google Play Store instead of opening the Amazon App Store). With that said, I checked a couple old games I used to play and one still said no ads available (though if I clicked again, I still got the reward for it) and another game that still wouldn't let me click them.
I don't know if disabling Amazon App Store would screw things up for you/your son and how you get your apps, but if not, it might be worth a try? Or, if it doesn't work, maybe there's something else that can be disabled via Fire Toolbox that can help? I haven't had much chance to dive into it yet to see if I could get those other in-app ads to work or not yet, but thought I'd pass along what I've found so far in case you're still trying to find a solution.
