New Superuser.apk

I noticed alot of roms on here are using the older version of Superuser.apk
how come is the older one better ?
next im working on a new rom right now and i would like to use the newer superuser.apk and have failed im guessing its not a simple as drag and drop into the system/app folder
i do realize its a flashable update but then it would be professionally built in i take pride in my works...
how can i implement the newer version of Superuser.apk 2.1 into into my rom so i can cook it in the rom kitchen

go download the new SU 2.1 update script from HERE
look inside the update script file in the zip and you will see exactly what is done to install SU 2.1

i have been using that script for a while now the flash-able version.....i have tried to extract in put that in my Rom but it doesnt work i still have to flash in the end i really wanted it built in
Just to let you know this is my very First Rom build so im not exactly sure what im doing wrong I think its more than cutting the old apk and adding the new one
actually after reading that script i think i already did those things but is didnt work it really looks different from the old build
Please help me out this is one of the final steps to my Rom ?

You symlink it? When you w want it to work for the rom you need to give it permissions and everything I think

what i did want and im sure its wrong....
after extrating the zip
i moved out the old su file from /system/xbin/
i moved out the old Superuser.apk from /system/app
put new su file in /system/xbin on my rom
put new Superuser.apk in /system/app on my rom
im sure im missing other set

So far it looks like your on the correct track.
The only thing that the zip does aside from that is create a sym link from /system/xbin/su to /system/bin/su and changes the permissions of the su file in system/xbin/su
i don't know how to do that while integrating into a rom, but once you set the proper permissions and the sym link it, it "looks" like everything should work.

help with the xrecovery

So guys see i dont know to to automatically install it can anyone tell me how? i tryed to download to the phone but it didnt work because i got an error. When i try to mannualy install it i download files to pc and the with the usb i passed them to my phone. When i open my file manager ghost commander i tryed to copy the 3 files busybox clock.. and the xrecovery.tar to the system/bin folder. THe busybox nad the clock.. were copied but the xrecovery didnt so if can anyone help me i would really appreciate it

I don't think it's possible to automatically install xrecovery.

- Download and unpack the recovery package
- use Root Explorer to remount /system rw
- copy the content of the package (3 files) into /system/bin folder
this is what i have to do but how do i remount the system?
and when i copy the 3 files i got an error and the xrecovery.tar isnt copied
but the 2 other files are.

After you unpack those 3 files to sd card use root explorer to copy them into system/bin
in bin folder you have to mount r/w,there's button in right corner of the screen
after you move them,you have to set permissions for them

so the only way to do it is to buy the root explorer?

guys i did everything that it said but still when the logo of SE appears the one with the icon of SE i press back and nothing is happening. Is this because i had the busybox installed from an app of the market named busybox installed?

y man when i search busybox in market i got the one i have the name is busybox but when i got in it tells me to install busybox there is nothing else and i got the busybox 1.17 should i get the 1.18 ?

You should press the back button as soon the sony ericsson words appear no the logo ...

Well it works for me on FW 47 and the last one, maybe start again from clean install of rom, root it and try again ...
I used the file in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881614&page=7 post 62 and worked just fine.

Very probably with the busybox version you installed is NOT compatible with xRecovery, I tried different busybox, and finally got it work, hope this may help.

I am ok everything is working now and i update my phone to 2.2 because i think that the 2.3 isnt enough stable right now but i think that in like 1-2 weeks there will be an update to 2.3 very stable. Can someone tell me if the current is stable enough to download. I want a guy who is using the 2.3 to x8

Works on my stock O2 Samsung Galaxy S2 (rooted of course) - but not sure it maintains as strong a signal as I would like (using with an AR.Drone) - still testing but definitely works and hasn't prevented me from also connecting to other secure networks.

How do you change the wpa_supplicant to this one? I've tried to go to recovery mode and apply this .zip as an update but it says installation aborted...

Pardon my ignorance, but what does it mean to "remount the file system?"
The "system" folder has read/write permissions set according to my root explorer?... however I've just tried to rename or delete the wpa_supplicant and it doesnt work..

enter the /system folder with root explorer
and press the W/R button
and try again

Okay, so I've finally figured out to how to remount with r/w permissions and replaced the file with the one posted here. However, now my WiFi won't turn on. The indicator that normally lights up green stays gray and there's no connection.

[H] how to remove kernel panic

Goo day this is my first time to make a thread so correct me if im wrong.
Hers my problem i installed activo speeder 3.2 last week.actualy i push it to /system/etc/init.d and change the permission.after i reboot kernel panic appeared.I think it appeared because of the line in 2nd to the last of the script.So is there any way to remove kernel panic?whithout flashing thru odin.because i dont have a pc right now
i'm using DXMA1 stock deodexed

what do u mean by kernel panic?? bt if u have problem with activo speeder. jst delete files of activo speeder. present in system/etc/int.d . and reboot ur device. or after deleting activo speeder. wipe data and chache. bt make a backup of ur data :good: :good: hope this will wrk for u :laugh:

Hmm.. Hell's #50 has this option to install stock kernel via aroma. Dunno if that works though, just a thought.

Mira, busca la rom the stock para meterla por odin, y debería dejarte, eso es por que no estás metiendo la rom correspondiente. Espero que esto solucione tu problema

Mine works, but some lockscreen effect like stone skipping not working...
when I changed the lockscreen effect to stone skipping, system ui stopped working and lockscreen blank (Fail)
